When i use Enfold 4.5.2 i get a 404 error according to http://www.redirect-checker.org/index.php but when i use 4.3.2 everything works fine. (code 200)
Google ads wouldnt recognise ads linking to my front page – only now that i run the 4.3.2 everything is accepted fine. There’s been nothing but trouble with 4.5.x – can i just get 4.4.1 back and run with that, PLEASE!!???
Where is there a download link to enfold 4.4.1??- This topic was modified 5 years, 9 months ago by migduvednok.
January 17, 2019 at 10:01 pm #1055189i have screenshots to prove it but this thing wont let me upload
January 18, 2019 at 12:23 pm #1055421Again..I have the same problem, just like when I updated to version 4.5 the site goes not indexable evean if all works fine.
Last time it was the function “error 404 page: click to use any page as your custom error 404 page”.
This time I don’t know what is it. Please solve the problem.January 18, 2019 at 12:44 pm #1055427Hi, I solved it, I hope it will work for you too.
The function “error 404 page” in the enfold settings; I enabled it putting it to another page (not the homepage) and the website was again fine.
Then I disabled the “error 404 page” and the website remained indexable. It’s an error that occurred to me when updating to the 4.5 version, it seems to me that in some way the function “remenber” that I used the homepage as custom 404 page (before updating to the 4.5 version) so when updating to the 4.5.2 version the error was there. Selecting another page as 404 custome page it’s like it “cleaned” the memory.
I hope they’ll fix this bug.
January 18, 2019 at 7:38 pm #1055628Alecalzavera – see your website through http://www.redirect-checker.org/index.php
In regards to your answer.
I tried that at first, back in november.
Then i moved from a http to a https (another domain also) and it wouldnt work again – even though i also did what you say.
When i select ANOTHER TEMPLATE then the website is seen fine thsough but not the newest version of enfold. Also older versions of enfold works fine.So we are talking about two different things, i guess.
And enfold 4.5.x is still broken. ;-(January 19, 2019 at 11:46 pm #1055990could an administrator just get me a 4.4.2 version, PLEASE!??

January 25, 2019 at 8:08 pm #1058903and again – installing wordpress from scratch and then enfold 4.5.3: checks out as 404 in http://www.redirect-checker.org.
Delete enfold 4.5.3 and install 4.4.1: everything RIGHT AWAY checks out as 200: ok.
Nothing else is changed in the website.Very strange.
Could you please solve it?- This reply was modified 5 years, 9 months ago by migduvednok.
January 28, 2019 at 10:38 pm #1059814Hi,
Are you using any plugin, like Yoast SEO?
Best regards,
BasilisJanuary 29, 2019 at 7:43 am #1059902A clean install, this time.
right now, i have only installed the widgets “securi” and the “smashballoon facebook” plugins (core, caroussel and reviews) – thats all. WP is 5.0.3 and enfold is 4.4.1.February 1, 2019 at 8:45 am #1061414Hi,
We are very sorry for the confusion. Do you have a staging or a dev site where we can see this issue?
The site is currently using 4.4.1 so it checks out fine when I tested it. Have you tried it without the 404 page option enabled?Best regards,
IsmaelFebruary 1, 2019 at 12:56 pm #1061509no dev site only the live one. i have attached my login details below so you can see it on my site.
LET ME KNOW WHEN YOURE DONE.I get to the same result without the “404 redirect” option in the enfold setting – the only thing affecting it is the theme version.
have you even tested the stated setup on your own computer ? (version 4.4.1 versus 4.5.x as seen through http://www.redirect-checker.org )
February 4, 2019 at 5:00 am #1062482Hi,
I tested a dev site running on the latest version of the theme and it returned a 200. Please upgrade the theme to version 4.5.3, disable the plugins temporarily and then run the test again.
Best regards,
IsmaelFebruary 4, 2019 at 6:42 am #1062498i just did that now again.
0) Looked at redirectchecker – it shows code 200.
1) i deleted the enfold theme
2) uploaded and activated enfold 4.5.3
3) redirectchecker showed code 404
4) i deactivated ALL plugins
5) redirectchecker showed again 404
6) i deleted enfold 4.5.3 and uploaded and activated 4.4.1
7. redirectcheker showes 200
8: i activate all plugins
9: redirectchecker shows 20010: i delete the enfold 4.4.1 AND deactivate all plugins and reupload the 4.5.3 version and actiavet it (redirect checker showes 404)
11: I make sure the “error 404 page” setting in Enfold is off: still code 404
12: i activate all plugins: code 404
13 i reactivate the error 404 page and select my home page” – code 404.
14: I reupload the enfold 4.4.1 – “error 404 page” is ON and all plugins are ON: code 200.Sorry. i wonder why we get the different results? Can it be my server? WordPress is still 5.0.3.
My plugins are akismet antispoan, custom facebook feed pro caroussel, custom facebook feed pro reviews, ustom facebook feed pro personal, disable gutenberg, securi security.February 6, 2019 at 4:28 am #1063441Hi,
Thanks for the update and for the comprehensive tests. My own installation is in a shared hosting on dreamhost, so there’s nothing unique there. Anyway, we won’t be able to see the issue unless the theme is up to date. Please upgrade the theme to version 4.5.3. Is the site loading properly after the update? Do you see any errors in the browser console?
Best regards,
IsmaelSeptember 8, 2019 at 2:36 pm #1135632Could we please take this up again? The issue persists, now that i try to use Enfold 4.6 – using 4.6 (and all versions down until 4.4.1) the http://www.redirect-checker.org my website shows as error 404, while as 4.4.1 it shows as code 200 alright.
The website will show up alright when you go to the address but google can not see it.NOTE that i just upgraded my http site mikkels.com to 4.6 without problems. While the sportsvaerkstedet.dk is https and it started doing this stuff since 4.5 and up.
login info is attached. I dont know how to make a child-domain thing-copy of the website, sp please dont let it stay in the malfuntioning version too long.

September 10, 2019 at 10:21 am #1136440Hi,
The site is still running on version 4.4.1. Do you have a staging version of the site? Please create a copy of the site with the latest version of the theme (v4.6.1).
Best regards,
IsmaelSeptember 18, 2019 at 10:55 am #1139398I am sorry but after having tried creating a staging version – with two great catastrophes as result (deleting my entire site and later directing all visitors to a blank page, Even with the help from the support at the hosting company or because of them) – i must say that it is NOT POSSIBLE to create a staging version.
I have already given You my PW, and do not understand why you can not log in to take a look into my website. As long as you dont change something wild, for long, then it could be all right, could it?
Very sad and a bit desperate, Migduvednok

September 19, 2019 at 11:19 am #1139857Hi,
Sorry for the troubles.
This issue occurs because the home or front page is also set as the custom 404 page. In the latest version 4.6.2, there is a new option for the Custom Error 404 Page where you can redirect the visitors to a selected page without setting the status code to 404. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to help you further if you don’t update the theme. Please let us know once the theme is upgraded to version 4.6.2.
Best regards,
IsmaelSeptember 19, 2019 at 1:07 pm #1139896Thanks so much for your answer and time, Ismael.
I have now uploaded the 4.6.2 and activated it. It now works – this was what i found:
Under “enfold options” the page ONLY works when i set my custom 404 page to something OTHER than the main page. (but i want people to be directed back to my main page!!!)
If the main page has been set as active under the options of “custom error 404 page” > “display selected page without redirect” OR > “redirect to selected page” then google can not see it.
One must FIRST change the custom 404 page to something other than the main page, THEN (if preferred) choose “no custom…” ” to “no custom 404 page” .IS this something you can check or give to the programming team?
This was checked using google bot and redirectchecker:

September 19, 2019 at 1:17 pm #1139899I think the whole thing originated in my not understanding what “custom error 404 page” means – i apologise.
It does say “This page will be excluded from page lists and search results. You must deselect the page to make it accessible for public again.” – but i understood that “custom error 404 page” means where i wanted to redirect visitors to if a 404 happened. And 4.4.1 worked for me because the “custom 404” option didnt even exist in that version.
Im so stupid. Incredible that this has consumed me so much for so long. I apologize.
September 20, 2019 at 5:01 am #1140102Hi,
No problem. It happens to all of us. :)
If the main page has been set as active under the options of “custom error 404 page” > “display selected page without redirect” OR > “redirect to selected page” then google can not see it.
It should work if you set the custom 404 page to “redirect” because the status code is set to 301, not 404. But we are not really sure how the redirect tool functions, so it might not work as expected.
