This one is very concerning. In all my years of using Enfold, I’ve never seen this particular issue. Here is how it went down.
-
1.Updated to 4.2.4 via FTP (Noticed an issue right away on the home page and didn’t explore further)
2.Opened a ticket to report 4.2.4 issue
3.Copied up 4.2.3 via FTP (Noticed the issue on the home page was fixed but didn’t explorer further, assuming everything would be fine)I later just happened to look around the site and noticed I lost a ton of customization that was done over time.
As we speak, I’m restoring a backup and while I refresh along the way, I’m noticing my customizations are being restored.
How could this possibly happen when a child theme is present and no customizations are made outside of it?
February 22, 2018 at 3:45 am #915831Hey WP Turned,
Very strange indeed, would you mind sharing a “All in One Migration” copy of your site so wee can try to recreate your issue on a localhost via dropbox?Best regards,

Thank you, can you check out the screenshot in Private Content area of the two versions side by side and tell me if this looks right?
For errors that is.Best regards,

February 23, 2018 at 5:27 am #916509Hi,
I wanted to let you know that I still have not found a cause for the change in those buttons yet, but I have come to the conclusion that your custom files were not touched while updating. I tested this by removing all of the code from within your child theme stylesheets and the buttons didn’t change. I will keep researching though.Best regards,
MikeFebruary 23, 2018 at 11:52 am #916596Just wanted to let you know that we have the same issues with the buttons on 4.2.4 and reverted back to 4.2.3 which fixed the problem.

@HolgerBusse did you happen to get a screenshot of the buttons before reverting?Best regards,
MikeFebruary 24, 2018 at 3:38 am #916948Hi,
@WPTurnedUp
Sorry for the delay, I wanted to find a solution that I could recreate… Please tell us how you updated, FTP or from within WordPress.
To solve please delete the parent theme folder and all files via FTP, then upload the new parent theme folder and all files via FTP.
In my test I cleared and disabled your caching plugins first, although I don’t think that was the issue, please try to do so too.
Let us know if this solves.Best regards,
MikeFebruary 24, 2018 at 5:00 pm #917168Thanks for the help Mike. Let’s just table this. I’m noticing other issues with 4.2.4, so I wouldn’t want to upgrade to it anyway. Thanks again.
