    Hey AdFX!

    The portfolio thumbnail size is defined in functions.php – search for

    $avia_config['imgSize']['portfolio'] 		 	= array('width'=>495, 'height'=>400 );						// images for portfolio entries (2,3 column)

    Make sure that your images have a size of at least 495 x 400px or WordPress won’t generate a thumbnail. This can result in an uneven grid like here: http://ak5.pl/sk4.html

    If you want to change the thumbnail size I recommend to install: http://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-image-sizes/ and then use: http://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/ to regenerate the thumbnails.

    Regards,
    Peter

    Hi kriru!

    I think the thumbnails are missing. Try to regenerate them with: http://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/

    A possible css fix would be:

    .news-thumb {
    max-width: 36px;
    }

    – insert this code into the quick css field.

    Regards,
    Peter

    Sorry to paste it all here, but here goes. It looks like the property repeats several times and I’m guessing that’s the issue:

    Hi!

    If you log out of your account you can see the reply is marked as private.

    For your issue, if it isn’t working using the WordPress video shortcode you can try using the themes shortcode instead. For reference, here is WordPress’s shortcode information: https://codex.wordpress.org/Video_Shortcode

    Devin

    Hi,

    Can you create an administrator account and post it here as a private reply?

    Odd. I’ve checked on Safari, Firefox and Chrome and get a shifted image. I don’t see a feature for me to upload a screen shot, so I’ve uploaded that to this url: http://www.imagestudios.net/screenshot_wtr.jpg

    Thanks for your help in working to resolve this Josue!

    #222365

    Hey!

    It’s working, here’s how i see it:

    Cheers!

    Didn’t quite work: http://withthisring.org/test-page

    Here’s the code I used:
    [video src="https://www.withthisring.org/videos/jointhestory_720.mp4" width="640" height="360" poster="http://www.withthisring.org/images/jointhestoryscreenshot.jpg"]

    Thank you Devin! What I actually meant is that I hoped that the theme did this automatically: subtracting the featured image from the first image in the post.

    Is there a way to do this?

    Otherwise I have to past all these images (100+ posts) again in the blog posts… :-\

    #222295

    I think my case is similar. I have a ajax portfolio grid-gallery. I added this line to custom.css:
    .portfolio-preview-image .avia-gallery a.avia-gallery-big{ pointer-events: none; }
    which stops the big picture from displaying the lightbox.

    On the thumbnails, I want to disable the lightbox and change the pointer to be an arrow instead of a hand. When you move your mouse over the thumbnail I still want it to display the thumbnail picture as the big picture. Do I need to make the changes mentioned in post #214941?

    Thank you for your great support!

    Hi Aerny!

    It doesn’t look like you have a featured image set on your individual blog posts. That image should be set from the meta box on the right hand side of the Post editing screen:

    Cheers!

    Hey!

    Use a Shortcode like this instead:

    [video src="VIDEO_URL" width="640" height="360" poster="PUT_THUMBNAIL_URL_HERE"]

    Hi,

    The featured post thumbnails doesn’t show in the footer on my test web site: http://arnoldveeman.com/testsitenieuw/
    If you scroll down you can see the problem.

    It doesn’t show up on my macbook, my desktop AND my iphone.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks in advanced!

    Hey Softwaredanmark!

    Please go to WooCommerce > Settings > Catalog and increase “Catalog Images” sizes then regenerate thumbnails using http://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/

    Hi Yeas!

    You can edit config-templatebuilder > avia-shortcodes > postslider.php, look for this code to modify the look of the blog grid layout:

     $markup = avia_markup_helper(array('context' => 'entry','echo'=>false));
    					$output .= "<article class='slide-entry flex_column {$style} {$post_class} {$grid} {$extraClass} {$thumb_class}' $markup>";
    					$output .= $thumbnail ? "<a href='{$link}' data-rel='slide-".avia_post_slider::$slide."' class='slide-image' title=''>{$thumbnail}</a>" : "";
    					$output .= "<div class='slide-content'>";

                        $markup = avia_markup_helper(array('context' => 'entry_title','echo'=>false));
                        $output .= '<header class="entry-content-header">';
                        $output .= !empty($title) ? "<h3 class='slide-entry-title entry-title' $markup><a href='{$link}' title='".esc_attr(strip_tags($title))."'>".$title."</a></h3>" : '';
                        $output .= '</header>';

                        if($show_meta && !empty($excerpt))
    					{
    						$output .= "<div class='slide-meta'>";
    						if ( $commentCount != "0" || comments_open($the_id) && $entry->post_type != 'portfolio')
    						{
    							$link_add = $commentCount === "0" ? "#respond" : "#comments";
    							$text_add = $commentCount === "1" ? __('Comment', 'avia_framework' ) : __('Comments', 'avia_framework' );

    							$output .= "<div class='slide-meta-comments'><a href='{$link}{$link_add}'>{$commentCount} {$text_add}</a></div><div class='slide-meta-del'>/</div>";
    						}
                            $markup = avia_markup_helper(array('context' => 'entry_time','echo'=>false));
    						$output .= "<time class='slide-meta-time updated' $markup>" .get_the_time(get_option('date_format'), $the_id)."</time>";
    						$output .= "</div>";
    					}
                        $markup = avia_markup_helper(array('context' => 'entry_content','echo'=>false));
    					$output .= !empty($excerpt) ? "<div class='slide-entry-excerpt entry-content' $markup>".$excerpt."</div>" : "";

                        $output .= "</div>";
                        $output .= '<footer class="entry-footer"></footer>';
    					$output .= "</article>";

    Or you can add something like this on Quick CSS or custom.css to align the grid image to the left:

    .slide-image {
    width: 30%;
    margin-right: 10px;
    float: left;
    }

    Regards,
    Ismael

    Did you test this with another browser? Afaik WordPress just shows an icon for videos and it does not display a preview or thumbnail of the video.

    Hi guys,

    First of all, thanks for your great theme. It’s a really cool and handy theme and we love it.
    I have a question regarding the layout though:

    We would like to make a news page where we will display posts with the category “News”. Right now, we’re using the advanced layout editor with the following settings:
    -blog style: grid layout
    -blog grid columns: 1
    -define blog grid layout: title and excerpt -preview image size: thumbnail(150×150) -post number: 20
    -pagination: yes
    It is working perfectly, however we would like the thumbnail displayed on the left and the title and excerpt on the right. Is there any way to fix this? or do i have to edit the css code? If so, please tell me which file, where and how to edit.

    Another question: is it possible to create a notification widget that tells you new post and custom post type updates in the same widget? It would be great if I could do that, but am I asking too much?

    Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Yeas

    Hey!

    The theme crops down the image to a certain width and height, in this case you can find the thumbnail size on functions.php. Look for this code:

    $avia_config['imgSize']['gallery'] 		 		= array('width'=>710, 'height'=>575 );						// images for portfolio entries (2,3 column)

    I guess photo #2 and #6 are large images and wp crops them to the size specified above while #3 is a small one and wp didn’t crop it. You can tell wp not to crop an image by specifying the crop parameter to false. Replace the code above with this:

    $avia_config['imgSize']['gallery'] 		 		= array('width'=>710, 'height'=>575, 'crop' => false );						// images for portfolio entries (2,3 column)

    You need to regenerate the thumbnails using this plugin: http://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/

    If you are not comfortable with the above function you can use a plugin like http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/simple-image-sizes/ to manually crop certain thumbnail size. You can also follow Josue’s suggestion to use images with the same ratio or dimension.

    Best regards,

    Hey!

    The code has a typo (it happens when you copy and paste the code), please re-write manually the part that says “C.V.”.

    content: "C.V." !important;

    Cheers!
    Josue

    Hey!

    Try adding this code to the Quick CSS:

    .image-overlay.overlay-type-extern .image-overlay-inside:before {
        content: "C.V." !important;
        font-family: sans-serif !important;
        font-weight: bold !important;
    }

    Cheers!

    I have placed a video on a page just using a video from my media library (I’m not wanting to use YouTube or Vimeo in this case). Rather than having it show up as the default black thumbnail, is there any way to place a custom thumbnail? I’ve seen some support discussion about going through Portfolio and doing it through a slideshow feature or something like that, but I didn’t follow that logic.

    Any thoughts? Page is http://withthisring.org/jointhestory

    Hi!

    I guess you are referring to the item on the right, try the following:

    Open js/avia.js and look for line 476

    if(current.outerHeight() > 100)

    Replace it by this:

    if(current.outerHeight() > 50)

    Regards,
    Josue
