Working on building a sortable portfolio grid, but the images are all different sizes. The ideal final product would have all the thumbnails the same size, but with the pop-up images being the actual uploaded size. The gallery module has the ability to make all the thumbnails the same size, but lacks the sorting option.

I am having exactly the same issue. I have followed your thought process and implemented the ‘Archive Remote Images’ and the ‘Force Regenerate Thumbnails’. The issue is the size of the images I am using in the slider. The width and height of the images are coming through as the original and not being displayed at 1500 by 430. What am I doing wrong please?

I have a download plugin that generate its own thumbnail when i add a featured picture.
My problem is how do i disable the features picture that also appears at the single downlad page?
Cause i see 2 pictures.By the way:
you should make it able to upload screenshoots at this forum..

The Big image with thumbnails below is available if you click the gallery from Avia Layout builder. Once you’ve dragged it to the content area and click it, all options will be available.

I did what you suggested, copied the
global $avia_config;
after the PHP tag in the child theme’s function.php and also added this code line below with my desired resolution (1920 x 760)
$avia_config[‘imgSize’][‘featured_large’] = array(‘width’=>1920, ‘height’=>760 ); // images for fullsize pages and fullsize slider
Then regenerated thumbnails with the named plugin, but my new resolution “1920 x 760” does not appear in the list of the easy slider image size drop-down menu.
It does appear although if I amend the functions.php in the original theme, but that’s what I want to avoid doing and keep track of the changes in my child theme instead of amending the parent theme, right?
If you have another idea or if I missed something, please let me know.
I can also give you temp access to my website to have a look if that’s quicker and easier for you guys.

Alright. So you don’t care if the images are cut as long as they are square in the slider? Set the Slideshow Image Size to the Shop Catalog (450x450px). If it doesn’t work, install this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-image-sizes/
Go to Settings > Media panel. Look for the square size thumbnail, set the width and height to 300px. Update then save changes. Regenerate the thumbnails after. Go back to the easy slider element, set the Slideshow Image Size to Square.

I’m using the Overwrite Portfolio Link setting and add a Vimeo link every time I upload a video. I have to upload a featured image to wordpress to get a thumbnail. You can see here.
My old theme RT-17, I pasted my vimeo URL and it pulled the thumbnail automatically from Vimeo, I didnt have to upload a photo every time. Is there any way I can do that here? It would be very much appreciated.

I was wondering where this plugin is coming from
I want to edit the size of the thumbnails but not sure where to edit them at. I’ve gone to the woocommerce > Settings > product> Display and tweaked these setting and did a “regenerate your thumbnails” but this doesn’t seem to work

Hi,
I was trying to create a customized side bar for my blog page, where I can also get a thumbnail image of the blog page. I added the enfold combo widget in the sidebar blog section which worked, but there are certain blogs which I don’t want to chow, which I have categorized in the post page. How do I exclude them and also how do I increase the size of the thumbnail image.I also need to remove the rest of the content in the sidebar, since if you observe the link, there are 2 recent post segments. Added the link in the private content section. Also i need to remove popular and comments which is show on top right side of the page only i want to show recent post. Please let me know how can i do.

Use Gallery under Media Elements, then chose Big image with thumbnails below in gallery options.

You need to go to Settings > Media and increase the maximum height of the
entry_with_sidebarsize (the one used in single posts) to something like 600px (default value is 321) so your square images can be show at full, remember to regenerate the thumbnails after doing that.Regards,

Are you using “Archive Remote Images” plugin to create the images in your Media library? i made a test here (manually uploaded image) and you’ll see that the image sizes are working fine there so that seems to be the culprit. Perhaps this plugin could force the regeneration of those externally fetched media files:

Elliott, I tried Perfect Grid. Sorry, but I think you didn’t understand the issue. I do want an even grid and not Masonry, but I don’t want to use CROPPED THUMBNAILS. My artist client doesn’t want her paintings displayed with only part of the image. I understand that concern completely.
I just upgraded to the latest version of Enfold, and my portfolio grid is stretched to full width, skewing the thumbnails, and not showing the sidebar, even though it is on. The site just became very ugly!
I see no option to not stretch it to full, how can I undo this? I don’t want it stretching.

Thanks, the CSS code fixed the thumbnail issue.
I get a “Browser outdated” message when accessing the site on IE8. The problem is, the majority of our users, uses that browser.

1.) Please give us a link to a post with the issue. We would like to check.
2.) Are you sure? The portfolio grid element should have that option by default. If you want to change the lightbox thumbnail size, adjust the Large thumbnail’s width and height value on Settings > Media panel. Regenerate the thumbnails or upload them again.

I uploaded a new image, regenerated thumbnails and it is still cropping from the center with this code: array(‘center’,’top’) );
Enfold crops from the bottom with: array(‘center’,’bottom’) );
The regenerate thumbnails plugin that you suggested does not work with latest WordPress install so I used simple image sizes.
I hope that we can find a solution. Most of my projects are website designs. Cropping from the center cuts off the top navigation and hero image which looks unprofessional.
