    Hello!

    I am having an issue where users can no longer post new topics inside my forums.

    I am getting the following error when posting:
    Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 72 bytes) in /home/nspt4kids/public_html/wp-includes/link-template.php on line 214

    Any ideas on how to resolve for a non-developer?

    Topic: Memory Size Error

    Did a simple FTP transfer and when I went to activate the theme I get the following error:

    Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 41943040 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 122880 bytes) in /home/powerhyd/public_html/home/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/slideshow_fullscreen.php on line 173

    Is this a theme issue or a server side issue? When I go to my website my theme shows up but when i go into the back end to edit I get the error right away and cannot continue.

    Thanks in advance for your support.

    It seems that the more I added pages and CSS to the site, the slower it got. In the last 2 days, I am reloading pages constantly, losing new entries in pages constantly and taking hours to make one small edit or change, literally, Something is really wrong!

    I increased the memory limit in wp-config file.
    I edited the php.ini file to memory_limit = 192M (that’s what go daddy said to do) in webroot and WP installation folder.
    I did a maleware scan and found no infected files.
    I have disabled all plugins.
    Then I did a http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/ test and the site is still ranking at 84/100 with no plugins installed.

    I am using enfold 3.0.2 and WordPress 4.0

    I tried to run the P3 optimizer with only that 1 plugin installed, and got FATAL ERROR – A fatal error occurred during profiling: Allowed memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 35 bytes) in file /wp-content/plugins/p3-profiler/classes/class.p3-profiler.php on line 304

    I tried to run theme check plugin with only that 1 plugin installed, and got FATAL ERROR – Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /wp-content/plugins/theme-check/checks/deprecated.php on line 230

    It seems that my site is completely maxed out even with no plugins installed. I have no idea how to resolve this.

    After almost 5 hours of trying to solve this issue and being in touch with Godaddy for the 3rd time, it seems that it could be a theme-related issue. I am able to load the “theme check” while using another theme and THEN check themes. I can check all 3 standard themes with no problem. However, when I try to check enfold theme or child theme, I get FATAL ERRORS:

    Enfold theme: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /wp-content/plugins/theme-check/checks/deprecated.php on line 230

    Child theme: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /wp-content/plugins/theme-check/checks/deprecated.php on line 230

    Please note that I am running ZERO plugins besides the Theme Check plugin.

    So, I deleted the enfold theme and re-installed it as per GoDaddy’s request, still have the problem.

    Godaddy mentioned that the problem may be in one of my customizations. Here is the functions.php in child theme:

    <?php

    /*
    * Add your own functions here. You can also copy some of the theme functions into this file.
    * WordPress will use those functions instead of the original functions then.
    */

    function add_custom_script(){
    ?>
    <script>
    jQuery(window).load(function(){
    jQuery('a.news-link').removeAttr('title');
    });
    </script>
    <?php
    }

     /* add_theme_support(‘avia_template_builder_custom_css’);
     */

    add_filter('avf_magazine_excerpt_length','avf_magazine_excerpt_new_lenght', 10, 1);
    function avf_magazine_excerpt_new_lenght($excerpt) {
    $excerpt = 200;
    return $excerpt;
    }

    I still have the FATAL ERROR on new version of the installed theme with Theme Check Plugin:

    Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /wp-content/plugins/theme-check/checks/deprecated.php on line 230

    And I am getting this error on Avia editor with anything I try to do to a page: Error fetching content – please reload the page and try again

    Please help!

    Hi Ismael,

    Thanks! Unfortunately, the slow behavior of the site has gotten worse since this initial “meltdown” and I’m guessing that it is a memory issue, but I am not sure if it is with the theme or the hosting company (go daddy). It seems that the more I added pages and CSS to the site, the slower it got. In the last 2 days, I am reloading pages constantly, losing new entries in pages constantly and taking hours to make one small edit or change, literally, Something is really wrong!

    I increased the memory limit as per above.
    (I have another WP installation in the same account using a different theme and this site ranks 65/100 – with 17 plugins installed, still terrible but not as bad as the enfold theme with 0 plugins installed).

I have no idea how to resolve this… do you think it is a server side issue or something with the theme?

    I updated the Enfold theme to 3.01 yesterday and now I get these error messages when trying to access any of the links – Enfold, Pages, Jetpack, Updates, etc.

    Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 41943040 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 49152 bytes) in /home/blaisen1/public_html/wp-admin/menu.php on line 79

    Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 41943040 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 12288 bytes) in /home/blaisen1/public_html/wp-admin/includes/update.php on line 184

    So I followed directions from another support ticket and added to wp-config.php:
    define( ‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ’128M’ );
    define( ‘WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ’256M’ );

    That did not fix it. Any other thoughts short of reinstalling WP?

    Fatal Error: Allowed Memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 56 bytes).

    I’ve set 512M in the configfile, still the same problem.

    Do you know what this problem could be?

    Hello,

    I have moved our site to a different hosting account using the plugin Duplicator. In fact I have moved two sites. With the first one (not using Enfold) I had no problems making the change but with the one I use Enfold I get a few issues. Once I have done all the procedure I can access the site and most of the posts and pages and css looks good. The home page and portfolio pages don’t look correct.

    The main issue though, is that I can’t acces the dashboard. When I try I get this error message:

    Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 41943040 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 49152 bytes) in /home/educatoy/public_html/cuinestramuntana.com/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/slideshow_accordion.php on line 167

    Could you tell me if there is a simple solution for this error.

    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Tomeu

    In reply to: Memory Usage

    I’m using Jetpack, WordPress SEO, Gravity Forms and W3 Total Cache among a few others, As soon as Jetpack is activated with W3 Total Cache and WordPress SEO activated I can’t add any other plugins. Unless I delete the entire installation and start from scratch, but then when there is a WP update all hell breaks out. I never had this issue when I used bytesforall’s atahualpa theme.

    I’ve been conducting research on the problem the last few hours since creating this thread. It seems that many of the premium WordPress themes that are using some form of visual composition editor are having huge PHP memory issues. For example, Themeco’s ‘X’ theme’s has 3 applications running more than 128m of memory each and pulling from several connections. Themeco responded to the post stating the Visual Composer is one of the 3 applications within theme that is heavily utilizing PHP resources. All the complaints in the Themeforest show that shared hosting plans from a wide variety of hosting services are having the most problems.

    I really have to wonder if Kriesi’s Avia Framework and visual composition tool/application is one of the reasons we are having so many problems.

    The following is one of the numerous fatal error messages we’ve been getting since upgrading to WP 3.8.2.

    Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 1966080 bytes) in /wp-includes/SimplePie/Item.php on line 2736. Every time I turn off all of the plugins and try to activate them one at a time I get a different error message.

    Dear Kriesi team,
    i have problem in translating Enfold theme throught WPML plugin, the support at WPML can’t say why did it happened with me, may be you can.
    The main problem is when i’m trying to make a page in default languange (Russian) and put the page in menu – everything is ok, but when i’m trying to translate the page and put translated one into the translated menu – there is an error, like a:

    [26-Feb-2014 10:36:33] PHP Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /wp-includes/cache.php on line 618

    i’ve ask php to max_execution_time 0
    [26-Feb-2014 16:09:18] PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 523800 bytes) in /wp-includes/plugin.php on line 1199

    i’ve ask php to memory_limit 1024M
    [26-Feb-2014 16:12:47] PHP Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 0 seconds exceeded in /wp-includes/post.php on line 1920

    There is some pages that can be opened in two languages, English and Russian, but i can’t understand why it works on one pages and doesn’t work on another.

    Here the screencast of the problem:

    Thanks!
