Hmm, I have the Enfold Child theme installed and it’s telling me the most current version is installed. Although the version number says 4.8.3. I must be missing something. Private content included. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

Kriesi Team, thanks for all the assistance with this. The hovering title captions were disabled and site appears to be functioning properly. Thank you! One quick follow up question…how are theme updates handled? Just update the theme through the child theme? Do I leave the parent theme untouched from now on? -Kris

Thanks Kriesi Team, I haven’t used child themes before, but I understand the principle. I think installing the theme and inserting code shouldn’t be an issue. What I’m not sure about is how to handle the the parent theme and child theme afterwards. Do I keep the child theme activated in order for the website to operate as intended? If the client wants future changes (such as text updates), do I activate the parent theme, make changes, then go back and re-activate the child theme? If you could give some guidance on how I handle the parent theme and child theme after the child theme is installed that would be very helpful. Thanks. -Kris

Kriesi Team, I’m not much of a coder and could use a little hand holding. Do I just add this snippet of code to the end of the code within the functions.php (located in Appearance->Theme File Editor)? Or do I need to place it somewhere within the code specifically? Thanks for the extra help.

Good advice, it was a plug-in conflict. Thank you, Jordan. :-)

Jordan, much appreciated. This contact form is all over the place for some reason. The appearance won’t comply with my General Styling settings. The browser page isn’t even close to the Element Preview. I’ve even deleted the page and started fresh with a new page and contact form…no luck. This is the preview: http://www.studiobyers.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Screen_shot.png

Here is the page link: http://www.studiobyers.com/contact-about/

I see the the element label for the message field isn’t appearing either. I’ve never had these kinds of problems with Enfold/Wordpress before. Any insights?

    Rikard,

I’m having the same issue. I’ve gone through the plug-in deactivation process and have found that the Google Calendars plug-in seems to be conflicting with the email forms. Strangely, with Google Calendars on, I will send a form from my computer and the client will receive the email. However, when sent from another computer or phone, the client won’t receive the form email with Google Calendars on. When Google Calendars is turned off, the email form seems to be sent from any device. Any suggestions as to why Google Calendars would conflict with the email form and how to resolve the issue?

    Thank you,
    Kris

My bad! For some reason the FTP user info was different. I was seeing the correct path, but FTP uploads were going elsewhere…blah, blah, blah…technology. Thank you to all the Kriesi team for your help! -Kris

    Yigit,

The Transient Cleaner plug-in didn’t help. I removed the enfold theme folder via FTP, then manually uploaded the theme folder…Wordpress still shows theme version 3.1.3. Private info supplied. What next?

Thank you kindly, that was driving me crazy! :-)

I’m not sure if this is related to the updates or not, but I’ve tried selecting all the Full Screen slider options and can not display the image full screen (getting black bars on the sides). I have images sized at 1500×1500 pixels. Can you walk me through what settings need to be selected? Site address is http://kriskrieg.com

Awesome, you’re the man! Not doing anything special there at all, but it didn’t want to work. Working like a champ now. Thank you! -Kris
