The code in child theme will still be there, but there might be a conflict, though not necessary. Should still work. Using a child theme is a highly recommended practice.

All we can see is that the image gets a link like this http://perfectdog.co.uk/http__s:/images-eu.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/51uYxiQsLKL._SL160_.jpg and obviously this does not work. You have to look into WooCommerce generating links on checkout page.

Here is a video on a quick start with WooCommerce. Their documentation is very good and might seem a bit overwhelming, but if you take a small step at a time, you’ll be able to build your store. There’s a huge community and a lot of articles, so any issue you might have, somebody already had before you and so there is a solution for it.
