April 22, 2021 at 6:33 pm in reply to: Additional Information on CLS, particularly on mobile devices #1296128
I’m attaching 2 screenshots of tests I just took on Pagespeed – 93 mobile, 94 desktop (WOOHOO!) but, in the desktop screenshot, you can see the CLS is still an issue. Hopefully my post above can help the devs improve this in Enfold.
April 18, 2021 at 12:57 am in reply to: CLS (Content Layout Shift) Troubleshooting help please #1294943Thank you for helping me troubleshoot this. I’ll upgrade my hosting later on and see if it helps anything. For now, it’s mostly good enough.
April 13, 2021 at 8:50 pm in reply to: CLS (Content Layout Shift) Troubleshooting help please #1294210Thank you, I was able to include a min-height to my ad script to prevent some of the shift from happening – as long as my server is fast. The first link is slow response (bad score), the second link with fast server response is better than ever with 0.0 CLS. So once these ads start paying for my hosting, I’ll upgrade. This has been very helpful figuring out what I need to do!
I’ve also been able to improve the google pagespeed score on mobile by implementing an AMP plugin which unfortunately strips out the lovely Enfold design but loads much better; I’ve only got it running on the homepage + blog posts, not my store at all though I’ll probably give in and implement it there too. The Enfold design is so nice, I wish it loaded better on mobile! :(
April 10, 2021 at 4:32 am in reply to: CLS (Content Layout Shift) Troubleshooting help please #1293586Nothing has changed, some times I get .9 and other times it’s almost 0 – with gtmetrix.
With google pagespeed, it’s always giving me a poor score because of the CLS of .9 but on desktop, my overall score is 90 so it’s not bad at all.Mobile on google pagespeed is bad – less than 50. It seems to have a problem with everything.
I think the main problem is the CLS is actually visible to a vistor if my server is running slow. The whole page loads slow so the shift that I mentioned can be seen and it’s not a nice look.
The link is the gtmetrix score I ran as I’m typing this – it’s great, except the CLS. You can see in the images that were generated, that at the .7 second point, the logo is loaded to the left, the menu under is loaded to the right. The placeholder image (the light green block in the main content) is litespeed generated so I don’t think Kriesi can help with that, but I’s to figure out what is going on to make the logo and menu load to the side then shift center where it belongs.I’ve gotten loads of compliments on the site as is so I’m not desperate to fix it, I just want to get it the best as possible – I have found a definite link between fast load times and how much money I’m making on ads (still very small but growing).

April 7, 2021 at 5:39 am in reply to: CLS (Content Layout Shift) Troubleshooting help please #1292978I’m on a litespeed server with the litespeed plugin. I had lazy loading on in litespeed, but it was also on in the Enfold Performance page. I turned off the Enfold lazy loading and did many purge-test cycles with both google pagespeed, and gtmetrix.
Then I also turned off lazy loading in litespeed. That gave me a D score (see the first link). I turned back on litespeed lazy loading, and excluded the logo and THAT gave me a great score in gtmetrix BUT google pagespeed is still bad – mobile cls is 0.484 and desktop is 0.963.
So the lazy loading on/off setting does seem to do something, but it doesn’t solve the issue in google pagespeed.

April 6, 2021 at 12:50 am in reply to: CLS (Content Layout Shift) Troubleshooting help please #1292628Here’s the test just now. It seems if the server is slowed down even a tiny bit, that content shift can be seen and dings me. I’d just like to fix having the logo start left and the menu start right before both shifting to the center where they belong.
April 5, 2021 at 2:46 pm in reply to: CLS (Content Layout Shift) Troubleshooting help please #1292510I have since done just that (see the first link to today’s gtmetrix score – 99/99 green all the way), but google page speed is still punishing my score on both mobile and desktop – my desktop score is 96, with the CLS being the main issue, only 65 on mobile.

March 28, 2021 at 6:09 pm in reply to: Unstyled Product Search Text Field and Button in Footer #1290958I added font-family: inherit and cursor: pointer and it’s spot on, thank you.
Sorry for the bumps, there’s no indication if my post was even seen. I’ll remember for next time.March 27, 2021 at 10:13 pm in reply to: Unstyled Product Search Text Field and Button in Footer #1290786Still hoping…
March 27, 2021 at 12:44 am in reply to: Unstyled Product Search Text Field and Button in Footer #1290646Hoping to see if this is possible, thanks!
March 19, 2021 at 2:37 pm in reply to: Add a category page style page banner to regular page #1289187That’s after the menu on a page. What I want is the banner, before the menu, like in a category page (the second screenshot).
March 15, 2021 at 2:33 pm in reply to: Add a category page style page banner to regular page #1288287The images I posted show what I mean. A color block shows after the menu. In product categories, the banner shows before the menu.
March 14, 2021 at 2:29 am in reply to: Add a category page style page banner to regular page #1288066Hoping to hear about this.
Another test shows the cause, but WHY, I have no idea.
This page (in private date) is the same content as the original, but I did NOT use the advanced layout editor, just the default (though classic) editor. So I can’t use the advanced layout editor? Is there a fix?
I made a test post and it is showing the title fine. See private data.
So I deleted the post I’m having issues with, and redid it. Still not showing the title!
After messing around with some other themes, and switching back to Enfold, the home page is now showing the excerpt.
I cannot figure out why the title isn’t showing correctly on the new post. I tried enabling and disabling title/breadcrumbs in the header settings with no luck.
January 27, 2020 at 4:34 am in reply to: Firefox vs Chrome / Scaled images better than exact size?! #1178560I seem to have fixed it (the logo issue), but I don’t have a clue how….
Still trying to figure out the blog grid image scaling issue. They *look* fine but performance website don’t like that they’re scaled, ugh.
*edit, I think I figured that out as well, with a simple image plugin*
I’d just delete this mess if I could…

May 17, 2017 at 6:59 pm in reply to: Category archives – show products on new line below categories #795039I’m kind of working this out in a different way by making a Page for the category and using Masonry. It’s not perfect, but it works.
May 17, 2017 at 5:55 pm in reply to: Category archives – show products on new line below categories #795000It’s a woocommerce template page. I’ve asked on their forums too. Just hoping someone, somewhere knows a fix for this.
That demo doesn’t have any subcategories so there’s no way to compare. Do you have a demo page that utilizes the option for displaying both subcategories and products?
May 17, 2017 at 1:28 am in reply to: Category archives – show products on new line below categories #794557I almost got it but could use a little help figuring something put.
In archive-product.php I’ve added <hr> after
<?php woocommerce_product_subcategories(); ?>But it outputs like so:
C | C | C
————- (hr)
P
P | P | P | P
and so onThe single product below the subcategories is where I’m having issues. So I’m thinking the hr isn’t going to work since it’s going to break that row to start a new 4 column row and I’m back to square one.

Thank you, I updated today and it does work. Such a relief, it looks great!
Yes, I am.
I’d like to see an actual answer to the original question, too. The enfold product gallery images with woocommerce 3.x still are not a good user experience. I’ve posted about it before. I’m just hoping to see a real answer.
Disregard. Review will remain 1 star until this is fixed.

Ok wow.
Switching back to Canvas then.Because Enfold doesn’t even SHOW the product images without a user provided hack, and that doesn’t even work right.I can’t imagine how the Enfold developers think this mess is “better for ecommerce stores”?

Not even close.
I’m posting my website and the properly done example, in the private content area.
Enfold does not fully support the new woocommerce 3.0 image gallery options and it needs to.
I am using woocommerce 3.0.3 and Enfold 4.0.5, all my other plugins are up to date and are NOT causing any issues with the image gallery.
April 7, 2017 at 5:08 am in reply to: Enfold Theme…WooCommerce Product Images not showing as of 4-4-17 #773663I’ve updated everything and still had image issues, mensmaximus’ code worked perfectly. Thank you!
I used 2 columns. Made the left one right aligned, the right ones left aligned, and no spacing between the columns. Size your images right and it’ll work.
