Thanks very much Rikard. A cache plugin was the issue.

    Cheers

    Hi Rikard

I’ve been onto SiteGround and all caches have been cleared and caching temporarily turned off.

This has made no difference. I get the issue with the white space under the home page slider whether I’m logged in or logged out.

SiteGround seem to think this is caused by the theme or a plugin clashing with it.

I’m completely stuck and my client is pushing us for a fix.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers

    Steve

    Hi

I’ve disabled the SiteGround chaching in the SG Optimiser in the Dashboard but it doesn’t seem to have helped.

    Any other ideas?

    Cheers

    Thanks. Will do.

    Hi

We’ve followed your advice and the issues we had on the home page largely seem to be fixed. One issue was that the full width slider wasn’t displaying. This is now fine but we now have a large white blank space under the top slider, which never used to be there, and we’re struggling to work out why.

    Please could you advise?

    Many thanks

    Steve

Thank you… yes sure, now doing….

    Hi

Thanks for coming back to me.

When I tried uploading theme from Appearance > Themes, I get these errors:

Installing Theme from uploaded file: enfold.zip

    Installing the theme…

    Destination folder already exists. /homepages/10/d746653149/htdocs/ProActAmericas/wp-content/themes/enfold/

If I upload a complete new Enfold theme folder via FTP, it uploads fine but when I look in the Dashboard the old v3.4.7 theme is still showing and the Avia Layout Builder won’t load in the page editing window.

If I click the “Check Manually’ link in the Theme Update screen I get these errors:

The site updated to the latest version of WordPress fine but we simply cannot get the theme to update. We really need to get this sorted and the Avia Layout Builder working for our client.

    Hope you can help.

    Hi Mike

I’ve passed on your request re php memory to our hosting company and they’ve replied as follows:
“When checking the PHP memory allocated to the site with a phpinfo page it shows the maximum amount of memory we can allocated has been allocated in the form of 512MB. You can view the PHP info for your site here : https://cathedralchiropractic.co.uk/phpinfo.php

Unfortunately we cannot increase this memory allocation increased further for you.”

    Hi Mike

Thanks for coming back to me.

Sorry you couldn’t access FTP. I’ve unlocked it again so you shoukd be able to get in now.

I’m not sure which theme version I updated to as I just used the Update button in the theme update menu.

I’ll ask the host to increase the memory as you suggest.

in reply to: Google API key is not configured correctly #819313

    Hi Yigit

Sorry, no luck. I updated to version 4.1 as suggested.

I regenerated the API key and ensured there is no restrictions on it.

I then tried to add a new Map element to the page and add an address. The same error message came up:

    “An error occurredX
It seems that your Google API key is not configured correctly
The key is probably either restricted to the wrong domain or the domain syntax you entered is wrong.
Please check your API key here
The domain that should be allowed is:
    http://ashbysonline.co.uk/*

I checked again, and there is no restriction on the key.

In the Google Services page on the theme admin, I used the Check API button and got the following error message:

“Could not connect to Mailchimp with this API Key. Please try again with a different key
You might also want to check your internet connection and make sure that mailchimp.com is available”

I’m obviously not trying to connect to Mailchimp!

Please could you log in and have a look at this? I’m lost. I sent login details with my initial support request in this thread.

    Thanks

    Hi

Please could someone come back to me re this issue? It’s now urgent.
None of my API keys work in the Google maps element. However, if I just embed Google map iframe code into one of your Code Block elements it works fine. That would suggest there is an issue between your Google Maps element and the Google APIs?

I’ve bought approx 50 licences for your Enfold theme. I can’t justify buying more for my clients until this issue is resolved as it’s a popular feature.

I really need you to assist promptly with this please.

    Thanks

    Steve

in reply to: Google API key is not configured correctly #818368

    PS…
The Map error message, as perviously detailed shows

“The domain that should be allowed is:
    http://ashbysonline.co.uk/*”

As you can see, that domain is listed as a referring URL.

I’ve also set the page the map is used on: http://ashbysonline.co.uk/contact/ as a specific referring URL. Makes no difference.

    Help!

    Cheers

    Hi Victoria

    Thanks for your reply.
As far as I can see, the domain is authorised.
It displays as follows on the Google API manager credentials tab:

    —————————-
    Key restriction

Key restriction lets you specify which websites, IP addresses or apps can use this key. Learn more.

    None

    HTTP referrers (websites)

IP addresses (web servers, cron jobs, etc.)

    Android apps

    iOS apps
Accept requests from these HTTP referrers (websites) (Optional)
Use asterisks for wildcards. If you leave this blank, requests will be accepted from any referrer. Be sure to add referrers before using this key in production.

    http://ashbysonline.co.uk/*

    ———————————

I’m really stuck now and this is getting urgent.

    Any ideas?

    Hi Yigit

I’m getting the same issue as tom3321.

Google maps were working fine on http://ashbysonline.co.uk/contact/

I created a new API following the instructions, repeatedly, and no keys worked when adding to the Google Services section in the admin.

On trying to reinstall the map I get the following error message:

    An error occurredX
It seems that your Google API key is not configured correctly
The key is probably either restricted to the wrong domain or the domain syntax you entered is wrong.
Please check your API key here
The domain that should be allowed is:
    http://ashbysonline.co.uk/*

The domain appears to be correct I think?
I checked your instructions and all seems fine.
I tried creating a new project in the https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/get-api-key#key page with Google but now get this message: “Couldn’t create project”

I had this issue with 4 other sites the other day. When I installed an API key, all worked fine but today the maps, once more, are not displaying.

I’ve sent the login to the admin for the ashbysonline.co.uk site in the Private Content section.

I’m completely stuck. Please could you have a look and advise?

    Many thanks

    Hi Guys

I’ve been having the same problem. Found a vimeo fix.

    See: https://vimeo.com/forums/help/topic:278001

Basically, just add ?background=1 immediately after the Vimeo embed URL, e.g: https://vimeo.com/123456789?background=1

    Worked for me.

    Steve

    Thanks Rikard

I really appreciate your help. We need to make some fairly urgent changes for the client and this problem is a real headache.

I look forward to hearing from you.

    Hi Rikard

Thanks very much for looking at this for me.

I cleared my browser cache as suggested but when trying to change the pink Special Offers button for a new smaller version in the image library, the same result happens. Have a look at http://dittiscombe.co.uk/whats-on/ to see what I mean.

I tried reverting back to a previous instance of the page, which was fine and I then tried editing again on two different machines, two browsers on each, none of which had accessed this site before and the same thing happens.

    I’m really stuck!

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

    Hi Yigit

Many thanks for the fast reply.

I’m not aware of any changes made to the theme files and I tried disabling all plugins (there are only 3).

The site is updated to WordPress 4.2 but disabling the plugins and updating WP made no difference.

    Any ideas?

in reply to: Avia button formatting problem #362014

    Hi Yigit

    Thanks for your reply.

After some investigations I have got to the bottom of this. It’s due to the >> we had put at the end of the button text.

When we removed these characters it works with the expected styles. Having the two forward (or a single) angle brackets in the copy makes some kind of sanitation/cleaning routine that is running over the input which gets really confused and causes it to write messed up html into the tag that it generates, adding single quotes around things it shouldn’t as you’ve already seen.

This seems to me to be a bug with the theme or that element they are using to setup side bars. It’s a minor thing but just thought you should know.

    Thanks and all the best

    Steve
