When I use the following code in my Child Theme, I do get a Grid-Blog which is indeed presenting all items from Posts and Portfolio AND all items are presented with only the Excerpts instead of the full article.
add_filter('avf_blog_style','avia_change_tag_blog_layout', 10, 2); function avia_change_tag_blog_layout($layout, $context){ if($context == 'tag') $layout = 'single-small'; return $layout; }
With this function active in my function.php, I have still two problems:
1) No control about the look and feel of the page – as I want to create a grid with a single column, to get all entries under each other instead of the grid-blog with 3 columns.
2) No sidebar on the right – In the Theme Option I have mentioned “Blog Post” as the Blog page. In that Page I have defined via the Layout option, to not use a sidebar.
However the right sidebar is still in place.See the private section for the link
In addition to the above first point:
1) align this header widget-text just in the middle/center of the Logo. I have now used “top 28%;” as part of the css – But I’m wondering if there is a better trick to position this always in the middle of the logo;I would like to see this text also be aligned with the middle of the logo when you scroll down. Now the logo is changing in size and the text remains on the same position.
Thanks for the clarification and the link.
With regards to the menu – I do see the option to hide a menu element.
I would like to hide the entire second menu. I would like the entire top bar above the header including the phone and the secondary menu.
Would that be possible? Thanks – this is working for the headings.
Now I would like to hide also the background images on Mobile Devices. For Sliders there is an option.
What will be the trick to hide the background of the Special Color section. I’m using mainly the Parallax – center/center option Or Scroll in combination with Center Right.I have applied the css – the banner is now starting at the left – but is still not full width!
The av-special-heading remains 1310px width!https://www.dropbox.com/s/5hj7s4dcg4w07f4/Special%20Header%20banner.png?dl=0
Any suggestions to make that div also full width for all display devices?
Elliot,
Almost there …. The only thing that is missing is the fact that the background color is still not full width:
I have added the following to my css
/****** Style Enfold Color Section Banner *********/ #top .sn-cs-banner .entry-content-wrapper { position: absolute; bottom: 0px; background-color: yellow; width: 100%!important; text-align: center; opacity: 0.9; } #top .sn-cs-banner h1 { color: red }
Would it be possible to enlarge this .entry-content-wrapper full width for alle media?
Elliott,
Apologize for the inconvenience – but page was copied/pasted from my test environment, that is locked for others.
I have re assign the image and now you must be able to see the full picture!Stange – Here another try https://screencloud.net/v/3l4l
Please find the attached link with the example https://www.dropbox.com/s/h4iddi8w61pbvpg/Example%20Header.png?dl=0
I still need some help with this.
I have created a test page where you will see the following
1) Layerslider – as an example that I would like to build with Color Section and Special Header
2) Color Section and Special Header
Here I would like to see that the background color is full with and the text in the center. The earlier given css mods are not given a full width background.
I’m using a background image – center center with Parallax effect!3) Full width button
Is full width – text is the center – But I don’t want to have a link and I don’t want to have a hover effect here. What is the trick to add some css to my Color Section and Special Header to get the heading text below in the Special Header width a full with background?
Would it be possible to add another div class just beneath the Special Header but position this then higher so the text will be merged with the background image from the Color Section?
I’m aware of that – But How can I arrange the various layouts for the archive items.
Like presenting in a grid, lsit, etc.
I can do this for Blogs but is not clear how to do this for Archives and Taxonomy listings.
The layout are indeed the same now, as I found the following solution in some other support thread.
I have added this to my function.php of my child theme.
/* * Function to modify the layout for categories * */ add_filter('avf_blog_style','avia_change_category_blog_layout', 10, 2); function avia_change_category_blog_layout($layout, $context){ if($context == 'archive') $layout = 'blog-grid'; return $layout; }
However, I would like to know if there another option is to maintain the structure of these archive pages different then via a function.php function.
The page structure is different then my other pages as I don’t use the right sidebar on default.I know that you can set a page that contains the setup for blogs.
What is the option to define the structure for these archive pages.OK – I have created a test page.
This is the css I have added to the style.css of my child-theme for Enfold
/****** Logo in Special Header *********/ .sn-sk-bgt-test .container{ background-image: url("http://scheer-nederland.nl/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/SAP_Silver_Partner_Scheer-Nederland.png"); }
Now you will see that is picture is repeating. When I add the option “right no-repeat” after the URL, I don’t see anything anymore.
What I would like to achieve is that this picture is only displayed in the upmost right corner of the full-width Color Section.
This is on top of the used background-image that is used in the color section.
I have now used the container section. But this is not the right oneThe background Image in my Color Section is having the following settings:
[av_section min_height='custom' min_height_px='250px' padding='default' shadow='no-shadow' bottom_border='border-extra-arrow-down' id='' color='alternate_color' custom_bg='#2996cc' src='http://scheer-nederland.nl.185-21-241-26.kbitehosting.nl/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/SAP_bridge-1310.jpg' attachment='' attachment_size='' attach='parallax' position='center center' repeat='no-repeat' video='' video_ratio='16:9' overlay_opacity='0.5' overlay_color='#0070e8' overlay_pattern='{{AVIA_BASE_URL}}images/background-images/grid-big-dark.png' overlay_custom_pattern='' custom_class='sn-sk-bgt-test'] [av_heading heading='Digitale Transformatie' tag='h1' style='blockquote modern-quote' size='' subheading_active='subheading_below' subheading_size='15' padding='5' color='meta-heading' custom_font='' custom_class='sn-sk-header'] <ul> <li>Waarde creëren in digitale economie</li> <li>Van standaardisatie naar eenvoud en innovatie</li> <li>Realiseren van succesvolle "Customer Experience"</li> <li>Digitaliseren van processen</li> <li>Integrale samenwerking in de waardeketen</li> </ul> [/av_heading] [/av_section]
Settings for the background image are:
– Parallel
– Center Center
– No RepeatIt sounds to me that this is more a css issue where the right section/div needs to be addressed to make this happen.
I hope you are still able to support me with this.
What I’m asking is how I can influence the layout that is used when I view multiple items of a custom defined Taxonomy.
For my blogs, I can define a page that is used, which can be set via the Theme General Options.
Who can I influence the layout for other taxonomy listings?
Wow – these pages are completely different.
The layout of the first link (….persbericht) is ok
But the layout of the second link – which is going to the taxonomy of my custom defined “Topics” is just showing the full content of my topics within the content area and having empty right sidebar. This sounds to be not as the same. How can I influence the layout of my list of items that are related to a taxonomy item?
I would like to link the taxonomy “Category” also to Portfolio Items. Now it is only used for Posts.
I’m using MAC OS / Safari or Chrome.
I’m getting the sidebar still under my page.
Andy,
See my private notes
Elliot,
The code was still there!
– Layout is now as expected
– Layout elements are working fine together with the Blog LayoutThe only strange thing is, that I’m getting empty boxes under my content and above the Footer.
This looks like a empty container and sidebar.
See the details here https://screencloud.net/v/5ac2Ismael
This is now working for the Portfolio categories!! Top
Would it be possible to activate the Category – that is used for Posts – also for Portfolio items ? and could I also filter on that too then?
I have tried your CSS, but is does not solve the problem!
See the first screenshot https://screencloud.net/v/16Zj – this is with the “right top !important;”. No change in behaviour – I have tried this also for different browsers.
See the result on the second screenshot when I remove the “right top” from the css
https://screencloud.net/v/dV2sNow you will see that the expected images is being displayed, however in a repeated way.
But – looking to the repeating images – it seems to me that “container” is also not the right DIV to be selected, as I would like to see that the logo is displayed at the upmost right corner of my window.I’m using the parallax option within the Color Section.
When I use the following CSS
‘/****** Logo in Special Header *********/
.sn-sk-bgt .av-section-color-overlay-wrap{
background-image: url(“http://scheer-nederland.nl.185-21-241-26.kbitehosting.nl/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/SAP_Silver_Partner_Scheer-Nederland.png”) !important;}’
I do see the image indeed full with – but when I add the right top, it disappears. See https://screencloud.net/v/ch22What is the trick to avoid the repetition and to show the image only in the right-top corner?
You have the remove the “right top” and then the image will be visible!
If you tweak the mentioned line in the css – you will see the image
OK – I will investigate that further – thanks so far!
Almost there ….
I have added the right sidebar to my page
I have added the code block to my page
See the results here: https://screencloud.net/v/5ac2You will see that below the content, that I have defined with the layout elements, I’m still getting two empty boxes below my content.
I have tried a version where the code block is defined as first element and also as last element. No change in results.
What is the trick to remove/hide the latest empty sections here?
I hope I’m able to make this more clear with the following Screenshots.
In general, all my pages do not have a sidebar, as I layout the page with the layout elements
Picture 1: https://screencloud.net/v/w2gG
This page is created with Right Sidebar and specific Widget
This is the blog-post-layout I would like to use in my pages.Picture 2: https://screencloud.net/v/kR09
This page is created with layout elements and No Sidebar.
Now I’m getting a different blogpost with the following setting wrt the blogpost
‘[av_blog blog_type='posts' categories='79' link='category' blog_style='single-small' columns='3' contents='excerpt' content_length='excerpt' preview_mode='custom' image_size='square' items='-1' offset='no_duplicates' paginate='no' custom_class='' orderby='' order='']‘Picture 3 https://screencloud.net/v/z0B4
This is what I would like to achieve …
Layout of the page based upon Layout Elements
Blogpost equal to the make up as used for the Archive page.I hope this will work now
Nope – that was done via Layerslider. That is indeed as I would like to get when I use the Special Header. But with the css mods you have given to me, I’m still not getting the background to the entire full width. I can play with the settings, but I have my doubts what it will do with other smaller devices.
I have applied the following to my css now in order to make the background color size equal to the text size
.sn-sk-bgt .av-special-heading { background-color: rgba(106, 116, 127, 0.7); padding: 15px; <strong> display: table-cell;</strong> }
Could you confirm that this indeed the right way that will work for all devices/browsers?
Ismael,
If I understand the above logic correctly, I have to replace the 1 and 2 for the Id’s I want to use for the navigation.
But, what I would like to establish is that the prev/next is only working for the Portfolio-categiories where the item belongs to.
For example:
Portfolio category : Service – 5 items
Portfolio category : Products: – 20 itemsWhen I open a Service Item – the pre/next is only working for the 5 items that all have the Portfolio-category “Service”.
When I open a Products Item – the pre/next is only working for the 20 items that all have the Portfolio-category “Products”.I have applied this now for the page http://scheer-nederland.nl.185-21-241-26.kbitehosting.nl/scheer-nederland/vacatures/
I do get the same nice structure as I’m getting on my Archive pages.
But I still have an empty sidebar. For my other pages I’m using the layout elements (3/4)(1/4).Is there no option to combine the presentation of the blog posts with the layout elements?
Andy,
I will try to play with the numbers to het it fixed for the full width.
As an alternative, I would like to have the background just as wide as the text is.
The background text is behind the Header and the sub Header.
See there screenshot for a example: https://screencloud.net/v/rn54I have established this ones to change the display: table to block – but I cannot find the right Div anymore….
Looking forward to your response
