I had Bluehost restore latest back up upon error:
it says 18-Apr-2018 02:42:36] PHP Fatal error: Can’t use function return value in write context in /home2/socians8/public_html/wp-content/themes/enfold/header.php on line 6Very sad!
Hello Support,
I updated my Enfold theme and now I only get a 500 error. I checked with my host (BlueHost) and their support said:
please access file manage and check error log under public_htmlit says 18-Apr-2018 02:42:36] PHP Fatal error: Can’t use function return value in write context in /home2/socians8/public_html/wp-content/themes/enfold/header.php on line 6
means theme have issue
And unfortunately we do not support with them issue so we can not check anything
Please help get my site back up please!
Stacy
Hello Basilis – Thank you for the reply. “You can update without any reason – that would save you time.” Not certain your exact meaning of this statement? Does that mean if I back-up and launch updates that I will have to go use the back-up to re-populate pages across the site, which would insinuate that I will have to rebuild parts of the site? Or does it mean that everything should stay in tact (including custom CSS in Quick CSS) and that the site will just update to new versions (WordPress and Enfold) and only minor tweaks may need to be implemented?
The phrasing in your message leads me to believe that “Sure, just launch the updates (back-up first) and everything should be just as good as gold!”
My worry is that I launch WordPress update and it breaks my site because I am running an older version of Enfold. Then when I try to launch the new Enfold Update, even more chaos happens. In my imagination, I am thinking I will have a blank slate and have to rebuild the whole site from the back-up.
Still afraid!
StacyAwesome! All fixed thank you for the reply!
