Well, this host won’t give me ftp access, so I’m having to work on this on my localhost. Once I figure it out, I’ll have to send the host the files. I could give you WordPress admin access to the dev site, but I haven’t implemented this code there, so I don’t see how that would help. Can I email you the loop-index.php file — would that help?
Thanks @pixelbiz — I can’t believe I didn’t think to test to see if the map was centering on the first/top address!!
Sure thing, and yep, I think you can close it. Thanks.
OK, hmm, overwriting the theme files via FTP didn’t seem to work at first (even after using the flush cache feature in godaddy). But then it dawned on me to just try creating a new slider, and that seemed to work. And then when I switched back to the original slider that was working too. So maybe overwriting the theme files did work, or maybe just creating a new slider worked and somehow cleared up the original, too. Or maybe it was a combination of those things, I don’t know. Anyway, seems to be fixed, now, so thanks! ;)
Thanks for the quick response. But what do you mean, am I using LayerSlider? That’s what this whole question is about — I’m getting an error when I’m using LayerSlider — I’m using LayerSlider on http://08c.69c.myftpupload.com/home-layer-slider/ and the error seems to be associated with LayerSlider — “illegal string offset… shortcodes/slideshow_layerslider.php on line 97” — so what do you mean “are you using LayerSlider on your website”?
Hi, thanks — I finally got around to calling GoDaddy about this and they said the php is already 5.6+ and no, they can’t change it to 7.0+. Any other help you can offer?
Oh, yeah, you can close it! Thanks again!
Ah, of course — duh! — OK, thanks!
Ooh, so sorry — I reversed those…
Oh, right, sorry about that; here you go…
Oh yeah, sorry — http://08c.69c.myftpupload.com/home-layer-slider/ — let me know if you need access.
It’s ok, I already purchased and implemented wp google maps. I’ll try you again in the unlikely chance I face this same issue in the future ;) Thanks anyway.
Yes, but do you know how it works — like, do you understand anything about how it centers? Does it center on the first marker, as Kevin suggested? I’m not asking you to modify it, I’m just asking if you can offer any insight as to how it centers…?
Thanks!
I have a similar problem — my markers are all over the world and my map is centering somewhere over the dateline, with the Americas on the right and Eurasia on the left — see linked screen grab below — not what people are used to seeing. Is there anything you can tell us about how the map centers? Is it actually based on the markers somehow? Maybe we could place some invisible markers to fake it out?
Thanks!
Great — thank you so much!!
OK, I just made a copy of your file and named it functions-ismael.php and re-uploaded the version from before you were in there — I had to at least get rid of that bit of code that was showing instead of the widget titles. Please give me an update when you can. Thanks.
Any progress, Ismael? The menu headers are now showing as broken code (see link below). My client is overseeing the site development, so I’d rather not leave that broken code there any longer. Thanks.

Targeting the specific menu item. OK, works for me — thanks!
I don’t think there’s any cache plugin in there. WP Engine has it’s own caching built in, but I didn’t have any problem seeing changes as I was tweaking the other custom code I have in there (for how archives are displayed). Anyway, I’ll pass you an admin user login now.
Thanks!
Hey guys, I’m using this code you gave me on another site, but this site has some third level pages and, when I’m in one of those third level pages, the sidebar menu title changes to the parent of those third level pages — I need it to stay as the title of the section; the top level nav item; much more standard.
For example, on http://besanthill.wpengine.com/academics/sustainability/calendar-and-news/ (hosted on WPengine) the menu title should be Academics, not Sustainability Education.
Would you mind showing me what I have to tweak to achieve that?
Thanks!November 17, 2016 at 6:04 pm in reply to: portfolio grid order by page order, no page order in portfolio entries? #713681OK, thanks, but, unless i have some other reason to start a child theme for this site, I’ll just use the Order by Post Slug option and use numbers in the slugs — just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing something. Thanks anyway!
November 15, 2016 at 10:57 pm in reply to: portfolio grid order by page order, no page order in portfolio entries? #712651But that’s just it — the Portfolio Items don’t seem to have a page order field like the Pages do. And the Portfolio Item list in the dashboard is set by Date Published. So, as far as I can tell, the options in the Portfolio Grid Element for Order by > Page Order and Order by > Date are no different. Please correct me if I’m wrong.
November 9, 2016 at 9:20 pm in reply to: GWT problems indexing Enfold (soft 404) with search activated (?s=) #710445I’m having the same issue. And I’m using Enfold on about 30 sites. Granted, not all of those sites use the search field in the menu bar option, but many do. Please do let us know whether or not this issue will be addressed in the next theme update. Thanks.
Well, I tried again before resorting to manual uploads and, between GoDaddy’s Flush Cache tool and the Transient Cleaner plugin, I managed to get the automatic updates to work, this time. I could’ve sworn I tried both of those things before, but maybe I didn’t get the right sequence or something. Anyways, all’s well that ends well ;) Thanks for your replies, regardless.
I don’t think so — they’re all on godaddy’s basic managed wordpress hosting; same as most of my other sites.
OK, I had it happen on a couple of other sites, this round, as well, FYI — http://bayuno.com, http://newhorizons-sfv.org — so, three sites out of about 25 I think I have on Enfold. I can’t see any correlation in the configuration of those sites, off hand.
I’m having the same issue at http://woodflooringsd.com/ — is this still the recommended solution; to just update via FTP? Thanks!
I thought I had tried it without the plus, but I guess I hadn’t — that seems to have done the trick — thank you!!
No. I got it working with Hind, but not Hind+Siliguri. As I said in my previous / Aug 13 message, it seem to me the problem lies in the “+” or two-name fonts — I tested with Ubuntu and had the same issue; I could get it to work with Ubuntu, but not Ubuntu+Condensed.
OK, thanks anyway. And yes, I just added it as a feature request. Thanks again.
