Awesome, thanks again Ismael! This was my 14th purchase of Enfold and I’ll no doubt be purchasing it again in the future!
Fantastic, thank you Ismael.
Can you advise how I can adjust the number of characters shown in the excerpt?
Thanks,
Sam
Thanks Ismael – I really do appreciate your help.

Then why did you ask me to create a child version of the shortcode?
You were able to help me before (without creating a child version of the shortcode) through CSS and some small .php customisation – see the links in my original post. What’s changed since then?
If the approach with the child version of the shortcode is going to take too much time, can you help me like you did before please?
Thanks,
Sam
Thanks Yigit.
Basilis / Yigit – can confirm I’ve added the code to my child functions.php file and created a copy of the magazine shortcode within a new directory on the child theme /shortcodes/
Can you assist me with editing that to achieve the layout I enquired about in my original post please?
Thanks,
Sam
That’s perfect Vinay – exactly what I needed. Thank you!
Thanks for getting back to me Basilis.
I’m using a child theme, but haven’t created a custom shortcode – how would you do this? I didn’t need to use a custom shortcode before – it was just a few CSS changes and updates to the .php file.
Really appreciate your help,
Sam
Thanks Ismael. I removed the custom css classes from each column and replaced the CSS snippet with what you provided but it’s not displaying correctly.
Columns are no longer ‘stacking’ now and are aligned beside each other (1,3,2) on smartphones (with no padding/spacing in between).
Any idea why it’s not working?
Thanks,
Sam
Thanks Basilis.
I’ve tried to follow the instructions at the link you provided, assigned each column a css class and then tried to add the css below;@media only screen and (max-width:767px) { .responsive #top .flex_column_table, .home-left-col .entry-content-wrapper { display: flex !important; flex-direction: column-reverse; } }
The left column of my homepage was assigned the class home-left-col
However, it doesn’t seem to have affected the order of display on mobile.
As mentioned, on smartphone’s the columns stack vertically 1/4, 1/2, 1/4 (1,2,3) and I’d really like them to be 1/2, 1/4, 1/4 (2,1,3)
Have provided login details in Private Content – would really appreciate if you could take a look and steer me in the right direction please.
Thanks!
Thanks Günter – much appreciated.
Can I ask how you updated the plugin? It wasn’t showing as requiring an update (else I’d have definitely tried that first).
I’m running the latest version of the plugin (and have deleted and re-added it) so I don’t think that’s the case…?
Please advise.Thanks

Absolutely perfect – thank you very much for your help Günter.

September 30, 2017 at 12:33 am in reply to: Styling Questions – Elegant Blog, Partner/Logo Element & Featured Image Slider #858647Just in case anyone else has the same questions and stumbles across the post… I’ve spent another hour on the forums and found some answers…
To edit the captions within the featured image slider: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/featured-image-slider-personalized/
Can get around styling the H3 associated with Partner/Logo element … it’s easier to just remove it and use a ‘Special Heading’ and then reduce whitespace using Seperator/Whitespace content elements with negative values.
September 29, 2017 at 11:58 pm in reply to: Styling Questions – Elegant Blog, Partner/Logo Element & Featured Image Slider #858645Really? With the exception of the centering of the Elegant Blog layout, surely they’re just CSS changes?
Hi Günter,
Thanks for this – really helpful and much appreciated. I’ve replaced the loop-index.php code with your suggested code. Could you please advise how I might edit it very slightly so that it displays like;
Post Title
Posted in Post Categories
Post Date / By Post AuthorWhere the ‘Posted in Post Categories’ and ‘Post Date / By Post Author’ are all centered (I’ve already managed to center the Post Title within the CSS)
Post a link to example post within the Private Content.
Thank you again.
Sam
Hi Victoria,
I didn’t say irrelevant, but you linked me to an article that told me how to add categories beneath the title and didn’t reference the author or post date at all so it didn’t really help me?
You reference the coding being outside of support’s remit but I’ve seen plenty of similar responses on the forum – just for slightly differing requests. However, as you seem reluctant to help, I’ll just try and trawl the forums and think twice about purchasing Enfold again.
The CSS code worked, thanks.
Sam
Thanks Victoria – but could you please just advise how I do all the changes in one go? There’s no detail on how to add author/date? Perhaps you could just provide the code that I need to use to achieve what I’ve asked rather than referring me to other posts that aren’t completely relevant?
And how do I change the font size of individual blog post titles as I requested in my last post?
I’ve purchased Enfold 10+ times and am a little concerned that the level of support appears to be slipping – with multiple back/forth messages required to resolve questions.
Thanks,
Sam
Hi Nikko,
The Default (Business) style is definitely better. However, individual posts don’t show Categories, Post Date and By Author as I requested… can you advise how to add these in to the template so that the order is as follows please;
Featured Image
Post Title
Categories
Post Date / By Author (side by side)Also, how can I edit the styling of single post titles specifically (rather than site wide H1’s) please? The CSS previously provided didn’t work.
Thanks,
Sam
Hi John,
I’ve actually been rethinking the above…
Can you advise how I achieve the following please;
Reordering of single posts so that they display (in this order);
Featured Image
Post Title
Categories
Post Date / By AuthorPerhaps I need to update the index-loop.php for my child theme? In which case, can you advise of the revised code please?
Also, can you please advise what CSS I’ll need to use to resize the post title (as per my request above) please? The original code you suggested didn’t work.
I may still need to remove the whitespace below the title/categories too – so if you could advise on what CSS will allow this too that would be fantastic – thanks!
Appreciate all your help,
Sam
Hi John,
Thanks for getting back to me, but neither of those changes seemed to work I’m afraid?
Best,
Sam
Thanks Ismael. Installed the Widget Logic plugin, but unsure where I add the conditional statements?
If I wanted individual sidebars for both the individual job pages and individual blog posts – where (and what) conditional statements should I add please?Really appreciate your help.
Sam
Hi Nikko,
Thanks for this. I’ve moved to the child theme and updated all my settings successfully.Have created those two .php files directly within the wp-content/themes/enfold-child directory.
I can now see a sidebar on individual job listings, but I’m not sure how I edit this? I’d like that sidebar to be unique to the job pages of the site… so not just the ‘display everywhere’ sidebar.
An aside, but how do I change the sidebar associated within individual blog posts also? (without using the ‘display everywhere’ sidebar)
Thanks,
Sam
Thanks Ismael – both worked perfectly!
Sam
Sure – have set you up with admin level access (see private message)
Thanks,
Sam
Apologies, I made the changes to a different URL – see private (forgot to update you) – you should be able to see the thumbnail issue on that URL.
Can you advise the line of code that I should use that won’t break the php file?
Should it be as follows?$output .= 'Posted in' $cats;
Thanks,
Sam
Hi Nikko,
Thanks for your response. But how do you do this? The individual job pages have no option for sidebars within WordPress so assume I have to specify a sidebar somewhere in source code?
Thanks,
Sam
Perfect, thanks Jordan.
Is there a way I can edit the template that’s associated with individual job listings do you know? Ideally I’d like to add a right sidebar to them (that’s different to the sidebar I’ll use for the blog section) – appreciate any advice you can give.
Thanks,
Sam
Thanks Ismael.
The CSS worked great and I’ve decided not to use the read more link (eats up page space) but thank you for advising.
I couldn’t work out how to add ‘Posted in’ to the line of PHP in magazine.php – every time I edited the file, it broke the site entirely so I had to revert back. Could you perhaps advise the exact code I need to use please?
Also, I tried to adjust the width/height of the thumbnail image for the magazine element (using CSS I found from one of your colleagues in the forum);
.av-magazine-thumbnail img, .av-magazine-thumbnail {
width: 100px !important;
height: 80px !important;
}However, the border around the thumbnail breaks when you do this – see my website homepage (details in private) to see what I mean – the border around the base of the thumbnail needs increasing… can you advise please?
Thanks,
Sam
Also, can you please answer the spacing question please? Take a look at the homepage of my site (details in private message) to see what I mean please…
