January 15, 2026 at 3:17 pm in reply to: Contact form has stopped working on several websites #1493980
Hi Ismael,
Thanks for getting back to me.
I’ve gone through the documentation, installed an SMTP plugin, and configured it using the settings from SiteGround. That part is now working in the sense that emails from the Enfold contact form are being delivered to my SiteGround mailbox.
However, even after speaking with SiteGround support, I still can’t get those emails to arrive in my Gmail inbox via forwarding. SiteGround say the messages are leaving their server, but nothing shows in Gmail (not in spam either). This only started happening recently, and it seems to coincide with WordPress updates and the need to move away from the default PHP mail function to SMTP.
My concern is that I now have to rely on an extra plugin just to get a basic contact form working, which ideally shouldn’t be necessary for a core feature of the theme.
Could you clarify:
1. What exactly has changed recently that caused the built-in Enfold contact form emailing to stop working in the way it previously did?
2. Whether there is a recommended solution that doesn’t rely on an additional SMTP plugin?
3. If this is something that is likely to be addressed in future Enfold updates so that the contact form can send reliably again without extra plugins? At the moment everything “half works”, but the forwarding/Gmail side is still unreliable, and I’d like to avoid a fragile setup if possible.
Thanks in advance for any clarification you can provide.
Kind regards,
AndrewHi Yigit
Thanks for identifying the issue, i’ll delete the plugin and reconfigure the pages.

Hi Rikard
Please close the topic.
Thanks
AndrewHi Ismael
Thank you, appreciate your help.
Andrew
Hi Yigit
Perfect, I can adjust to code in terms of background colour, padding etc. Thank you for your help, much appreciated.
Andrew
Hi Ismael
I can see now how I would organise the accordion, thank you. I did notice even though I am using the same code from the Enfold documentation that the Sorting tabs are separated with forward slash rather than in a boxed tab, how do I achieve the boxed tab?

Please see images.
Andrew
Thank you Mike, I added the code for the table of contents as well
.single-post .entry-content li {
font-size: 18px !important;
}I can see the single post entry has changed so just waiting the hosting cache to catch up for the table of contents, appreciate the help.
Andrew
Hi Ismael
Thank you for your response, that’s my issue I have triple checked and can’t see where the custom tags go “Toggle Sorting Tags” field doesn’t exist in the accordion section?
Could you add a couple of dummy text fields so I can visually see what I am missing?

They are all missing from google search console and search results? Yes you can see them on the browser
Andrew
Hi Rikard
Thanks for the reply, I saw the new update and figured this was a fix to the issue. Appreciate the help as always.
Andrew
Hi Ismael
Thank you for your reply, in an effort to fix the error I restored the website back to two days before only to find that the website returned a Fatal Error. I contacted my web host, siteground and they helped me restore the website.
According to them the latest version of Enfold doesn’t seem to be compatible with the latest version of wordpress. Both of which I had updated on the same day, this is when the problems started.
Please see screenshot of the error reported

I am now running the previous version of WordPress 5.8 and the previous version of Enfold 4.8.3 which has fixed the problem. Have you had any other reports of Fatal Errors? or any other issues with the latest version of enfold. As you can imagine I am very hesitant about updating either again.

Hi Jordan
Everything seems to be working, thankyou, please close.

Hi Rikard
Typical It has corrected itself at some stage, I triple checked it on various browsers and on websites that check websites compatibility over multiple devices and the layout was broken over the weekend.
I guess it’s good news, just wish I knew why it was playing up.
Thanks very much for getting back to me, keep up the great work
Andrew
Hi Rikard
I can see that you are correct. Strange though as when I preview on the blog page nothing shows apart from a repeat of the front page. On other hand if I copy the URL http://clearcutpainting.co.uk/blog then then blog appears as it should.

Andrew
Hi Rikard
Thanks for the reply
You explained that this is possible but not how it was accomplished?
For instance you mention that The header and footer are not really boxed and that the width can be adjusted. How do I achieve this, please see image, if I want to move the logo in from the left and the navigation bar in from the right.

Andrew
Hi Mike
Thanks for the reply, this unfortunately would also change the layout of the home page. I was looking to have a different layout in regards to the blog page only.
Is this possible?
Regards
Andrew
Hi Yigit
I have attached screen shots of what I was trying to do. I tried to give each section a keyword ID for example
Instead of testimonials
I renamed the section with the ID Painting and decorating testimonialsI have just found out that this change is what caused the slider and testimonials stop working.

I was hoping to create an seo keyword friendly URL http://www.clearcutpainting.co.uk/#painting-and-decorating-testimonials
