I thought it was on PHP 7, however when I’ve checked it’s the only one of my sites still running 5.6. I’ve updated that now, and disabled the debugging display and the error has disappeared. Thanks!

I’d managed to track it down to the Edit Flow plugin, which has not been disabled.
Thanks for the help – I hadn’t realised how ‘important’ the !important command was, despite having worked with css for a few years. I knew what ids and classes I had to target already, sticking !important in has actually made them work.
