Doing that put the site down and I can no longer access dashboard. This is really, really becoming a big issue at a very bad time. Will try contacting host if there’s nothing else I can do

Yeah that’s the link I was going off. I’m getting the 503 tenporarily unavailable page when I try to get in the admin and as per the instructions on that blog…
If I can ever get in, is it a case of opening the wp-config.php text file and editing by adding define(‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ’64M’); just anywhere or somewhere in particular?

Tried this, updated, tried to reactivate my plugins and back to where I started with the white screen…
I really need this sorting today, it’s driving me mad. I appreciate your help, could you have a look at the admin via ftp for me and see if you can locate the issue?
Just updated via FTP, still had the very basic looking admin screen, tried to update a plugin, activated it and back to square one with the white screen now…
Would you be able to have a look for me using the FTP? I’m totally lost now and really need to do this tonight!
Hi Josue, I have 3.6, the update to that on my previous theme killed the site so I’m terrified of updating now!
I*’m sorry Devin, how do I do that? I know I have seen that somewhere before but not sure where.
