    Update on this:

Thought I’d solved the problem but did not. For some reason I cannot delete this comment.

    Hi John,
    Sure thing: https://imgur.com/a/Kmz6y

    Screen Shot 1 and 2

So there are three posts. #1 (in red) is a normal post with the Avia Layout Builder. #2 and #3 are “Link” posts (in purple) that link to external websites.

For #1, despite the fact that there is post content, when you click on either the feature image or “read more” link, you’re taken to the “Nothing Found” page (the second image in the screen shots link). When you’re logged into the back-end WordPress editor for the post, the preview button also takes you to the “Nothing Found” page.

For #2 and #3, clicking on the feature images take you to the appropriate site. But clicking on the “read more” link takes you to the “Nothing Found” page. We need it to take you to the appropriate linked site.

So those are the big problems that we’d love to solve as soon as we can.

A smaller issue that would be great to solve is getting rid of the link text (underlined in yellow) in #2 and #3 that shows when in a grid layout blog style. That text does not appear in other blog styles (like Single Author) and it looks a lot cleaner without it.

    Thanks!

    Hi Victoria,
Sure thing, please excuse the sloppy microsoft paint, but you get the picture: https://imgur.com/a/yqynu
    Screen Shot
Just trying to put an orange “box” (R: 243 / G: 110 / B: 33 or #f36e21) around the filter item text (in white) that people can click on. Text would have to be centered and it would be a bonus if the “box” for each item were all the same size, but that’s not critical.

    Thanks,

Looks great and works like a charm,

    Thanks Ismael!

in reply to: Add Text to Portfolio Grid Sort Options #863520

    Thanks Ismael,

It adds the text to the sort options, but there’s a formatting error– “Filter by:” appears like small, super-scripted text at the end of the sort options, rather than the same size text on the same line.

What we have: All / Articles / Industry KnowledgeFilter by: [that last bit in superscripted style]

    What we’d like:
Filter by: All / Articles / Industry Knowledge

Is there something in the quick CSS that’s causing a need for adjustment?

    Hey John,

Sure thing and apologies. The dev URL and credentials are below.

    Thanks!

    Hi Basilis,

No worries, we’ve skilled coders go above the simple stuff that I can do. But I’ll check out that link for a quote if we find ourselves stretched thin.

Just saying though, that’s an odd default (sticking out to the left instead of the right, no formatting like box shading to set it off) but for a theme as powerful as Enfold, a little flexibility with menus items seems like a good idea to build into future versions.

in reply to: Nest a sub menu item #849169

    Hey Victoria,

Thanks for the suggestions. Is there a code solution? We try to avoid adding plugins for small issues (like one single menu element) for stability’s sake.

    Hi all,

So our developer figured it out while doing some other stuff. Apparently PHP code that grabs the API key was living in Child Theme CSS (not my doing). Moved it to the appropriate spot and viola, API validated.

    Victoria,

Thanks, but you have to click “Check API key”, THEN you get a message about Mail Chimp, which I have seen another user report.

“Could not connect to Mailchimp with this API Key. Please try again with a different key.
You might also want to check your internet connection and make sure that mailchimp.com is available”

That has nothing to do with a bad API key or incomplete configuration in Google Search Console (because you’d get an error message regarding your GOOGLE api key. According to Yigit replying to a different user, Enfold’s update feature did not do it’s job properly.

I’ve asked an extremely experienced developer who has done a ton of work for my employer, and he says it’s bad CSS. He even checked to make sure everything was good inside the search console.

Honestly it just seems like 4.1 has a lot of bugs. This is likely my 10th Enfold build and it has been by far the most problematic. I see a lot of other users reporting a host of very random problems.

    Please help!

I’m going to have to get back to you on that Basilis, that’s a lot of work to do and the server situation for this project is highly limited.

What I can easily do is import it onto a different host (Pantheon) as opposed to where it actually is (GoDaddy unfortunately).

Will that be enough for you to confirm or will the difference in environments complicate the diagnosis too much?

    Hey guys,

Sorry to bump a thread but this is a pretty big issue I’ve got to get straight right away–site launch is coming soon and Enfold is not working on a major browser.

    Any ideas?

in reply to: Major Firefox errors with images in 1/4 rows #820671

    Hi John,

I’ve disabled everything but Woocommerce and KIA subtitles, a woocommerce plugin. I’m afraid if I disable them we’ll loose days of work (especially the KIA, but I did reach out to the plugin developer to see if the data will still remain after deactivation.) Moreover, I’m about 95% sure that the problem existed before installing KIA, and Woo is an integral part of Enfold.

If you want to see the issue, just visit the homepage (private data). You can’t miss it. But, there’s a link to a screen shot below. Those image boxes zoom in and zoom out of their own accord on a loop, like a really bad flash animation.

Built a lot of sites with Enfold before, the only thing different is it’s hosted on GoDaddy (not my choice!).

in reply to: Major Firefox errors with images in 1/4 rows #820249

    Sorry Basilis,

Installed 4.1, cleared cache at host, cleared Fire Fox history, still getting the same images zooming in and out of their own accord to a techno beat!

Has anyone actually solved this problem yet?

Seems like most of the Google-side recommendations haven’t done the trick for most of the people with problems, which indicates that it’s an Enfold issue. For our situation at the moment, the client is struggling to get us back end access, which makes verification an issue. Which is a headscratcher as we’ve needed to do that before anyhow.

The only difference between this site and several others that require the API but still work fine is the version of Enfold, the one that doesn’t work is starting with 4.0.7, the rest have upgraded to it.

in reply to: Google Maps Not Working #812235

I dug a little deeper into differences between the site of mine (with 4.8) that’s working and the site that isn’t is this:
The one that’s working has an auto-generated extension (that is not the project ID#, I have no idea where it came from):

    Project ID (that’s working)
    name-1234567891011 (random 13 digit number)

    Project ID (that isn’t )
name (no 13 digit number set)

in reply to: Google Maps Not Working #812229

    Thanks Anna,
Unfortunately I’m still not able to get this going. ‘

First of all, I’ve done this before for Enfold and had zero issues. Another build updated to 4.8 and it’s looking fine.
After following the tutorial from the Google Services menu in Enfold, and trying out all three project naming conventions, all I get is this error:

    An error occurredX
It seems that your Google API key is not configured correctly

The key is probably either restricted to the wrong domain or the domain syntax you entered is wrong.

Please check your API key here

The domain that should be allowed is

Anna, I appreciate the code but it doesn’t change anything for us. Do I need to register ownership of the domain in Google Search Console–that could be an issue right now and it’s not something I had to do in the past.

I forgot to mention that this is for product images.

    Hey Basilis,

We did a build once before and a developer pulled it off, unfortunately I asked him how he did it and he couldn’t remember. The next time the client has us do something on that particular site, I’ll link up with an SFTP client, figure it out, and post the answer here.

    Thanks for the attempt though!

Thanks Jordan! I had put the admin credentials beneath the link in the private content area. Is it not showing up? Conversely, I can share a screenshot but I’m not sure how to do that in this forum? Thanks!

    Thanks Sarah!

    Working like a charm.

    Have a great day!
