Hi!
So far I have this solution for inserting an icon and attaching a link:
[av_font_icon icon='ue877' font='entypo-fontello' size='32px' ]
The problem is that the icon either appears at the right or left side of my container, instead of immediately after the text where I put it.

PoirotEdit: To attach the link I put the code above between an “a ref”

Hi Elliott!
I have done as you suggested, but it didn’t work. I also tried deleting the blog element and making a new one. I also tried the options for Conditional Display. No result. Pagination works fine in Corona though. Any further things I can try to fix this?
Regards,
PoirotHi!
Great, thank you Yigit.

PoirotHi Basilis!
Yes, I have added the page as “blog page” in the Enfold Theme Options. My blog pagination indicates 11 pages, but each one of them displays the same posts, without updating them.

Thank you for your suggestion. I may be close to a solution, though:
I have two blog elements, separated by a color section. When you navigate to page 2 of my blog, the top blog and color section are removed, and only the bottom blog element is displayed. The problem is that the post do not update, when you browse pages. Any idea what the problem is?

Solved :-) Thank you!

PoirotHi Elliott,,
What I mean is actually just an image carousel, but I don’t find any option to insert one. The accordion slider has effects, and I just want fixed image sizes.

Works perfectly, but on my second blog page, I’m left with a horizontal line just below the header. Any idea how to remove it?
I’ve also removed the whitespace below the first blog element (homepage) and the color section. “.content {padding-bottom: 0px}” But now my individual posts are cut off at the bottom. I’d need to fix this. Maybe the code could specify only for homepage, not individual posts?
Thank you,

PoirotDecember 7, 2015 at 10:57 am in reply to: How to display a color section on the blog page only? #547876Hi Rikard,
Sure. If you take a look at my homepage (blog), you will see a color section halfway the page. If you click to the second page of my blog, the color section will still be displayed, but I would like it to be visible only on the homepage.
The reason for this is that my blog consists of 2 blog content elements, separated by the color section. Since the top content only displays on the homepage, the color section then moves up against my header. That’s why I need the color section only to be visible on the hompepage.
Thank you,

PoirotNovember 29, 2015 at 12:40 pm in reply to: Blog posts do not change, when clicking to next page #544132So far, I can conclude this:
1) If both blog elements have pagination, they will update separately.
2) If only one blog element has pagination, it will update, but the other will remain static. So, my question as above is: how to have a blog page with alternate content (color sections, ads, etc) , where the entire blog page updates as one element?

PoirotNovember 29, 2015 at 12:28 pm in reply to: Blog posts do not change, when clicking to next page #544130Hi Elliott,
I looked into the problem again. Having the blog set as homepage should not be the problem, since that is an option within Enfold.
What I do realize is that, having two (or more?) blog elements with pagination, doesn’t work. In other words, when you go to the next page, only one part updates, or nothing at all. Is that normal?
If yes, the question is then: How to have a blog page with alternate content? For example in my case I want to have a color section in between, or an advertisement, etc?

I will look into that, thank you. Can you just let me know if you updated something regarding blog image sizes? I noticed that my plugin for image regeneration was turned off, and i don’t really understand how. Now, when I upload new blog images, they’re cut at the bottom. But maybe it’s just a bug?
(Edit: I’ve just noticed that, when going from page 1 to 2 (or any page), nothing changes at all. Previously, the bottom blog element would update, but it does no longer. Any idea?)

Hi Yigit,
I didn’t work. What I did: I regenerated the “portfolio size” images at 495 by 297, allowing them to be cropped. I assume all blog cover images fall under the category “portfolio size”. If not, let me know.
What I see is that only images uploaded with the “right” proportions display correctly. Others display a wrong width (368, instead of 437 width).Their height would also be wrong, if I didn’t add code in CSS: .avia-content-slider .slide-image {height:262px;}
Basically, the whole point of regenerating images is exactly to be able to use images uploaded at different sizes. So, I do not understand why it doesn’t work.

Please find the login details below. Thank you,

PoirotH Yigit,
Ok, thank you, I will make sure. But can’t the images fit the proportion I want, and then be cropped? I will try again the cropping settings and regenerate.
Regards
PoirotHi Yigit,
You can see it on the homepage, if you scroll down to the end of the page (last 2 posts). On the second page, there are also a few like that. Thank you,
Regards,
PoirotHi Ismael,
Great! I didn’t know about these settings yet, thank you :)
Regards
PoirotHi Ismael!
Thank you for helping. I’m still having problems with my blog post images. The sizes are only correct for the images that have the same proportions as the values set in Theme Functions. In the case of other images, instead of being fitted & cropped, they are displayed with grey areas on both sides. However, all uploaded images are large enough to be fitted and cropped. Any idea of what might be wrong?

PoirotHi Elliott,
Ok, thank you, I have created a feature request.

PoirotHi Andy,
Thank you, that works when blog excerpts are displayed. However, on a part of my blog, I have switched off the excerpts, and now the “read more” link disappeared too. Any way to display only the link?

PoirotHi Josue,
Sure, please find it below:
Regards
PoirotHi Yigit,
I tried the same code, but without ” > * “. No idea what this means, but it works! :)

PoirotHi Yigit,
Ok, solved! Just one more question, since I do not understand the Regenerate tool. Will this ever affect the size of images in the library, or just how they are displayed on the site? Also, is this tool part of wordpress, or part of a plugin? I have a regenerate plugin which I never use, and I would delete it otherwise.
Thank you!
PoirotHi Yigit,
I’m not sure it is working. I would like the top blog image to be 930x558px. In other words, I’d like to have always the 1000×600 image proportion. So, I went back to functions.php and changed height to 726px (to keep that proportion). I then regenerated, but I see no changes. The image however is large enough to fit those proportions.
Regards
PoirotHi Yigit,
Correct! I’d like to increase the height to 558px. I still might need to change it afterward though. Hope you find the problem.

Hi Yigit!
Thank you for your help. I can’t seem to fix it. I had already changed the width in functions.php, and tried reloading the featured image.
Regards,
PoirotHi Yigit!
Sorry! :) I’d like to change the height. I can’t seem to find the right code. Inspect element says “.attachment-entry_without_sidebar.wp-post-image”, but that doesn’t work in css.
Regards
PoirotHi Yigit!
That did it, thank you!
Best regards
PoirotHi Andy!
I managed to fix that, thank you! The only problem is still the blog image sizes in mobile. How can I have a responsive size that follows the proportion 1000*600px and crops if necessary?
I now gave a fixed height, based on my iphone screen (that works). But on a larger device the proportion is obviously wrong. Any way to solve this?
Best regards,
PoirotHi!
The issue is solved. Both codes had an “!important”, which forced the mobile version to keep the whitespace I wanted to remove. You can close the thread. Thank you!
Best regards
