Hi,
Could you please have a look at the website and see what’s causing the higher database use?
Regards,
Hi Ismael,
Please try accessing the website again.
My webhost had blocked access due to increased database use.
Access has been restored for a few days to find the problem. The plugin I mentioned was autoptimize, but i have deleted it again since it didn’t solve the problem.
If you still need ftp data let me know.
Thank you,
Ismael,
My website is no longer displaying correctly.
File merging/compression returns to default “enable” and I couldn’t activate the plugin. (I clicked activate, but it stays off)
Please help,Hi Ismael,
I followed your suggestion but no impact on database use, which has further increased.
Let me know if there’s anything else I can do to fix this.
Thank you,
Regards,
Hi Ismael,
Thanks for your help, see the name below

Hi Rikard,
Sorry, please see below.
Thanks,
Hi Rikard,
Thank you for your help and apologies for my very late reply, as I’ve been away for a while.
The plugin solved the issue.
I generally try to limit the number of plugins. So, if there’s an alternative solution, please let me know.Best regards,
PoirotHi Mike,
Thank you so much for your help.
However, the problem persists on my end, even after a browser cache. I still have a column of shortcode on top of the page of my Advanced Layout Builder (see screenshot attached). Before, I had the building blocks right on top.Best regards,
PoirotHi Mike,
Thank you for your help.
I updated by using a plugin for installing the zip file, which overwrote the old Enfold version.
[Edit: I deactivated the plugins, but the problem remains.]Best regards,

Hi both,
I’m using WP 5.0. The issue of blank building blocks seems to be solved, after I downgraded and upgraded back to WP 5.0.
But in the advanced editor, I’m still getting an unusual column of shortcode on top. No idea if that’s Enfold or WP related.
Best regards,

Hi,
I thought I had a solution with:
<a href="link">Link text<span>[av_font_icon icon='ue875' font='entypo-fontello' size='16px' position='left']<span></a>
But still, the icon either appears on the complete right or left of the line, or is not aligned vertically.
I mean, all I need is a “More >” link where I can choose the arrow icon from entypo…

Hi Ismael,
Categories are back, by modifying the files in the parent theme, as you suggested. Wasn’t this solution integrated in the latest Enfold update?Regards,
PoirotHi Ismael,
Yes, I have modified both files, postslider.php and functions.php (in theme child). Still, I only get blog titles, no categories. I have verified all that I can think of, once more, but I get no result.
Regards,
PoirotHi Mike,
Thanks for your help, but the code is not working in my case
Regards,
PoirotHi Ismael,
Thanks for the code. Could you please let me know in which file to paste it?
Regards,
PoirotHi Ismael,
Ok thanks, keep me posted.

PoirotHi Ismael,
This solves the issue! Thank you for your help!
Regards,
PoirotHi Ismael,
I have already tried this, and it does brings back categories, but:
– Categories now appear below, instead of above the title;
– In single post page, the title and categories are now above the image, instead of below it;
– In single post page, date is no longer visible. It seems more trouble to change things in “Modern business” layout, than just bring back the categories in Default.
Regards,
PoirotHi,
I have updated to Enfold 4.05, still the categories are not visible on my blog page.
The option “Enfold > Blog Layout > Blog Post Category > Check to display” is active.Regards,
PoirotHi,
I have updated to Enfold 4.05, still the gallery won’t work with the lightbox deactivated.Regards,
PoirotHi Victoria,
Thanks for your help. Nothing happened, even after purging cache and hard refresh.
I see the category title above each blog post. But not on the blog home page.Regards,
PoirotHi Andy,
Thanks for your help. Ok to deactivate plugins. Please find details below:Regards,
PoirotHi Andy,
With “Lightbox linking deactivated” I still get no masonry gallery. I deactivated all plugins and have done a hard refresh for a few minutes. Only with lightbox activated do I get the gallery back.Regards,
PoirotAt the moment, the masonry gallery only works with the lightbox option enabled. Victoria (=moderator) suggested this elsewhere on the forum. I hope that this will be fixed, so we can disable the lightbox when needed.
PS: Date and category were above the title on the blog page. In the current Default layout, I’m also missing my featured image.
Hi Victoria,
Option 2, please :)
Btw, the date used to appear left of the category, same line.
I have tried switching to Elegant or Modern Business, but in both cases I get a new issue (featured image appears twice on the each blog post page).
Thanks for helping,
Regards,
PoirotHi,
I am experiencing the same issue with categories, since updating Enfold. The solution provided here, doesn’t work for me. Will this be solved in the next update? Why not including new styles in the theme, while keeping the “old” ones for those who are using them?Regards,
PoirotHi Nikko,
Ok, thanks!Regards,
PoirotHi Mike,
I tried deactivating all plugins (at once) and cleared cache, still no category titles. I will follow the steps in the link, but if you have any idea what might have caused the issue, let me know.
Thank you,Edit: I have Googled the issue again and found another thread (http://bit.ly/2o9dqLn), which says that this was caused by a theme update. If that’s the case, then the default blog style no longer displays categories. And by switching to another blog style, custom css is needed to change the category title and other elements to their “original” position. How can we, users, build a consistent website, like this?
