Hi,
I’ve rolled back the php and did a fresh install of Enfold and Enfold child and this has brought everything back up and working now.
Thanks for your help!
NathanHi Rikard,
I’ve rolled back the php to version 7.2 which is as far back as my hosting company will allow.
I’ll leave it for 24 hours to propagate across and will try uploading the new theme files via FTP myself tomorrow afternoon.
Please keep this ticket open, I’ll let you know whether I’m successful or not. Many thanks
NathanHi Nikko,
As per my original message, I have tried to update to the latest version of Enfold after everything else has been upgraded – WordPress, PHP etc, but doing so caused the entire website to crash and return an “Error establishing a database connection” error.
Thanks
NathanHi Victoria,
Thanks for your reply. I cannot check the server log from where I am currently, but I’ll take a look this evening as see if there’s anything in there.
I’ll attached temp admin access below. Many thanks
NathanHi Mike,
Well, you’ve certainly earned your wages for this month, and the bonus for the year in my opinion – that’s worked a treat! Thank you so much!
Thanks for taking the time to set that up and explain everything to me. Hopefully this thread will help others too as it seems somewhat a common problem!?
Thanks again!
Nathan
Hi,
I’m more than happy to try a manual install. I’m a web designer so I have FTP and phpmyadmin access to this site, just wanted to get a head start with the layout you have for the shop.I’ve updated the login info below.
Hope to hear from you soon.
ThanksNathan
@Mike thanks for getting back to me, I’m more than happy to try a manual install as I’m a web designer and can ftp in and have database access too.
I have a thread on this, if you can provide me with the DB files etc there: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-demo-content-problem/#post-916977Thanks
Nathan
@Mike, can you please explain how to install via phpmyadmin please? I’m facing the same issue, but yet to find a resolution.
I’ve tried to install the shop demo via the Theme Options > Demo Import but it doesn’t work. Also tried WordPress Importer and navigating to the demo files in the Admin > Includes folder which worked once, but now I want to try a different demo this doesn’t work.
Another moderator also sent me the txt file to upload via Enfold > Import / Export, but that doesn’t work either. Thanks
NathanHi, thanks for sending the import file.
I’ve tried this and it says the file has been imported successfully and the page refreshes, but the shop theme still doesn’t apply. I’ve also tried again using the WP importer, but it times out with a 504 error.
This is getting frustrating now, thinking about truncating the entire database and starting from scratch, but would prefer not to.
Is there anything else I can try? It worked once, not sure why it won’t work again though.
Thanks
NathanHi Rikard,
I’d prefer to have the whole demo installed so that I can see the site in it’s entirety. It almost works – the pages and blog content have been populated, but the theme itself has not been applied.
Please let me know what else there is to try?
Thanks
Nathan
Hi, I’ve since reset my database and tried again to upload the demo content both through the theme options section and the wordpress importer and neither methods work.
Please can you let me know what else to try?Hi Rikard,
I’ve tried both methods – importing from the Theme Options section and using WordPress Importer, both methods fail.
I’ll try the wordpress database reset to remove the demo content and see if that works.
Thanks
NathanActually, it’s kind of funny, but I changed my mind on which demo site I wanted to try!
It installed the Spa one fine, but now I want to try out the Shop demo, but it fails and errors out like before.
Do I need to update the php.ini file again, or clear any caches so that I can try the shop theme? Thanks
NathanThis has worked now, thanks for all of your help.
Kind regards
NathanHi Victoria,
Thanks for getting back to me, I’ll add temp admin info to the private content box for you.
Not sure where to check that information from, would that be via a php.ini file?Kind regards
NathanHad the same issue with content blocks not appearing on pages on my site after updating to WordPress 4.5.
I was updating because the contact form wasn’t sending messages (it worked, but message never reached my inbox). I started to look into SMTP for the emails, but thought I’d update everything first.
The site broke with 4.5, but then I updated the Enfold theme files and all’s working well now.
Really starting to appreciate the process of backing up first, and using child themes! It’s a proper sphincter moment when you break your site!
