    Hi @Ismael, thanks for the prompt response. After some tinkering yesterday I think I’ve found a series of settings that gets me what I am looking for, mostly.

    I embed the image, and create a link. I set a featured image but disable it from appearing in Single Posts. I set Post Format to Standard. For the Blog Page I have set it to show Single Author, Small preview pic and Full Content. Any other settings and something goes awry, either with the Featured image also appearing, or the main image cropped in some way.

    WP has changed a lot since I last played with it. I used to be able to simply modify single.php, or archive.php but now everything seems linked to other files. If I wanted too, say have the share buttons appear on the blog page or archive page, how would I do that?

    That works for “single posts” only, but not for any of archive pages which end up displaying both featured and embedded image.

    Would post width not be dependent on the sidebar width?

    As a follow-up question, I just noticed that if I set the blog post format to “image” it disables the image link. Can I get the link to work?

    Thank you so much for your help Elliot. I ended up buying Visual Composer & WOO Product Page Plugins and they are doing the trick for me!

    Thanks again Elliot but that also does not work. It’s just applies a hard crop, leaving the image at 100% width and 600px max height. So that square image I refer to above ends up being 1300 x 600 rather than 600 x 600 :(

    I ended up also needing to add the following for that to work.
    .single-product-main-image alpha {float: none !important; width: 100% !important; }

    What I have now is that it ignoring the settings I have for Product Image Size (1310 x 600px) and scaling everything up to max width. So, for instance, a square image appears as 1150 square rather than 600 square. What I want is for the image to never be taller than 600px and manage the width to maintain the original aspect ratio of the image. However height: 100% !important; width: auto !important; is ignored.

    Any idea’s?

    PS this is for display photographs, so I will have a mix of aspect ratios and cannot hard crop them.

    Thank you Yigit. That seems to solve the size of the text, however it still floats out separate from the main menu rather than being anchored beneath it. It actually seems to be anchored to the bottom of the header rather than the menu. Any idea’s how to fix this?
