I have already done some work adding my logo back and such, but there is a lot more to do. I was just holding out to hear if you thought I should be able to recover all the customization. I don’t understand why the backups are not restoring everything, but at this point I guess I better just get to work and start fixing everything. What a nightmare. And I still haven’t done the fix you suggested earlier this week. By now I forgot all about that issue. sigh.

Thanks for your help. I’ll try to get back to my original problem one of these day.

I’m sorry for the delay. Something TERRIBLE happened. I was mucking around with your directions trying to get it to work and I accidentally reverted back to the factory settings of the theme. I lost all of my customization and years of work. I have been trying to restore with my web hosting company all week. Two times they restored from a backup from several days before I made this mistake and both times the site is still showing the uncustomized theme. I am crushed, heartbroken, and terrified that I’ll never see my old site again. Can you please tell me if it will be possible to somehow magically go back and time and fix this horrible mistake? I’m desperate for the answer to this question but terrified of the answer. I was trying to fix a small problem and ended up with a gigantic problem. :-(

This is so confusing. I have generated a new token but when I paste in the code I get the long error message that is listed on your site. only I can’t figure out how to get past it. I didn’t understand your first instructions above. How do I “remove the Themeforest API Key? Maybe I needed to do that prior to inserting the new token?!? Ugh so frustrating that I don’t understand these steps.

I just installed the latest theme update and I got this message on the screen. The last line is the important one . . .

Installing theme from uploaded file: themeforest-EmQyEuV6-enfold-responsive-multipurpose-theme-wordpress-theme.zip
    Unpacking the package…
    Updating the theme…

I just downloaded the latest version from themeforest yesterday. I assumed that was the latest version. If it was not, how do I get the latest one?

in reply to: Please help #1406799

At the top of the page on the “Themes” selection. https://mariposaenergy.co/wp-admin/themes.php

This is now the only error message that I’m still getting:

Warning: Attempt to read property “item_id” on int in /home1/oauur5avbojt/public_html/wp-content/themes/enfold/framework/php/auto-updates/class-pixelentity-theme-update.php on line 93

I’m so sorry. I must have tried to upload the wrong zip file. I just re-tried and it worked!!! Yah :-) Thank you for your help. I’ll see if this resolves all the other problems.

I tried to do exactly as you suggested and I got an error message that says:

Installing theme from uploaded file: themeforest-8KTsEXj0-enfold-responsive-multipurpose-theme.zip
    Unpacking the package…

    Installing the theme…

The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.

    Theme installation failed.

Please advise where to go from here. My site has not been working for months and my business is severely suffering :-(

Looks very nice. I’ll buy that one. Thanks so much! Buying the theme support was definitely worth it. It’s nice to know that help is right there when I need it.

in reply to: How to get blog to display certain catergories #592946

OK, just as we suspected . . . it WAS the calendar plugin. So if you could recommend one for me that works that would be great. Now I have to start all over again setting up my events and event categories. Drat.

in reply to: How to get blog to display certain catergories #592945

if that calendar is indeed the problem what do I do? I need to have a calendar. Do you know of a better choice? One that works better with this theme?

in reply to: How to get blog to display certain catergories #592944

No, I wouldn’t even know how! I haven’t changed anything except content on some pages. The only big thing that I added was a plug-in for a calendar and I just realized that I didn’t “de-activate that one yet. I wanted to ask you if all my settings and events would be lost if I deactivated it. I’m betting that is the culprit and I will turn it off to test it, but it would be good to know if I’m going to lost everything before I do.

in reply to: How to get blog to display certain catergories #592928

I de-activated all plugins and I still can’t find an option to turn on the “featured photo.” I’m stuck :-(

in reply to: How to get blog to display certain catergories #592244

I don’t see that option in Screen options. There is no “featured image” check box. The only things unchecked are:

    excerpt
    send trackbacks
    custom fields
    discussion
    comments
    slug
    author

in reply to: How to get blog to display certain catergories #592224

Ah ha, I think I got it, but I have another question. The option to “set feature image” seems to have gone missing. It’s not showing up in the right side bar of the post page and now my new blog entry doesn’t have an image displayed on the blog landing page.
