Hey Mike,
Thank you for your response. I have managed to solve or word around the problem by installing the plugin ‘post smtp’ and setting up with my email domain credentials. It now works fine. as you suggested I have installed the wp mail logging. This is very useful. I have also had a look at the link you sent me for email errors. This is also very useful.
I would like to customise the email responses sent out.
Can you suggest a way forward with this?
I installed ‘shopmagic for Woocommerce’ which can do the customisation.
I am a bit hesitant to use it.
Is this plugin compartible with ‘post smtp’ , if not is there any other I can use? Thanks again for your help.
Regards,
ClaudiusHey Nikko,
I have updated the theme to the latest version.
Error messages have disappeared.
Problem fixed.
I have now set it up for update notification with user name and API key.
Thanks a lot.
Is there a way of trapping these errors/identifying cause of such errors due to legacy theme versions etc? Thanks Nikko. Will try this and get back to you.
Hi Ismeal,
Thank you so much for looking into this problem for me.
I will follow your recommendations and get a developer to help solve this issue.
I will report developments back to you.Kind regards,
ClaudiusHi Ismael,
I have posted the .htaccess file below.
I deleted and re installed enfold.
I can now edit pages. The problem is when I try to view pages, they default back to the home page.
The home page is the only one that loads properly.
I notice a few .htaccess files exist. I have posted the one in the sauce folder which linked to the installation.
Does the one in the public folder have any effect on the sauce installation??Hi Ismael,
I identified the .htaccess file and changed the permissions to 666
went back to the permalinks set to defaults and saved them
The page then appeared ok.
I changed back to link post, but still got the 404 error.
However I can now edit the page in default mode
The permission on the htaccess file was 644.
I have since changed it back from 666 to 644
What is the default permission for this file?
I am wondering whether the site was designed with just the default permalink?Hi Ismael,
Thank you for looking into this issue for me. I just tried logging in with the credential and was able to get in.
I will present it again below.
This site was built for me about 3 years ago with the enfold theme. I think it was version 3.2. I had since lost contact with the person. When I had problems with the site, I did not have a licensed copy of the theme, so I decided to buy it. I am not an expert in this. Initially I did spend a lot of money to get it done. unfortunately, not all the details were handed back to me. I am now able to manage the site, however, I just need this problem resolved. Once resolved, I will do regular backups.
I suspect there may be issues with the permalinks. I tried what you suggested above but to no avail.
What I don’t understand is why I have this installation errors but the installation was successful?
I have tested the logins by copy and paste what you have below. It all works fine.
I will be very grateful if you can resolve this issue for me. -
