    Hi Guenni007,

    That makes sense.

    Thanks

    Hi Rikard,

I fully get it: LayerSlider shouldn’t show up in the plugins list, but it does. Once again, I DIDN’T INSTALL THE STANDALONE PLUGIN. I’m not crazy, I didn’t purchase it, I don’t own it and nobody else is managing my site. Please stop suggesting this and consider that what I write has a meaning.

This update problem has occurred several times in the past when updating the theme. Your team has worked on it on several occasions. Maybe that’s the someone else you’re looking for. Two years ago, I’ve also manually reinstalled the embedded plugin, following you team member Yigit’s instructions and this video of yours: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pTBsWYKaMi0. Anyway, it seems that neither you or I will never know the exact reason, and it doesn’t really matter. I just want to make it work.

    To summarize:
    – LayerSlider 6.2.2 shows up in the WordPress vertical menu as it should
    – LayerSlide 5.6.8 shows up in the plugins list, and is deactivated

So the only problem left was this “ghost” plugin in the plugins list. My latest question was: “should it delete the 5.6.8 from the plugins’ list?”. In order to move ahead, here is what I’ve tried: Instead of deleting it, I just FTP moved the LayerSlider folder. Now, the “Ghost” plugin doesn’t show up anymore, of course, but the 6.2.2 still works with my sliders, which was all I wanted.

    Should I do something else?

    Thanks

    Nicolas

    HI,

There is some change. Now I can see both. In the plugins list, I still can see v5.6.8, which is disabled. And in the WordPress vertical menu, there is a link opening LayerSlider 6.2.2. I’ve tried to open instances on several browsers, and I get the same thing which seems logical.

So shouldn’t I just delete the 5.6.8 from the plugins’ list?

    Thanks

    Hi Victoria,

That’s strange, but if I’m the only one to get this, I can live with it.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Yes, LayerSlider shows up in the plugins list, but no, I didn’t install the standalone version. I’m not noctambulic : I know what I did and what I didn’t. Do I need to show you my purchase’ list on Code Canyon?

I understand that it should work like on your test installation, but it’s not. This is precisely why I need your help.

Did you check the ticket I mentioned in my previous message? It’s the same problem I’ve already had with a previous Enfold update and your colleague had to do it himself: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/update-plugins/#post-454875.

    Thanks

in reply to: LayerSlider manual update #774059

    HI,
Sorry to insist, but yes, this is the embedded version, not the standalone one.
I have the same problem with each Enfold’ update. Please check this: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/update-plugins/#post-454875
    Thanks

    Hi,
The layout of this page is different, but the version number is 5.6.8, not 6.2.0 or any 6 version.
If you want to see exactly what I get, please check my screenshots in the private section bellow.
    Thanks

    Hi Rikard,

I’ve cleared the cache again, and restarted my ADSL router and my switch : no change.

Could this have to be related to transients? If yes, please be very specific in your answer since I’m absolutely not familiar with this part of WordPress.

    Thanks

in reply to: LayerSlider manual update #773865

    Hi Rikard,

This absolutely not what I’m getting.

I’ve just checked again with two browsers (and I’ve emptied the cache). The plugins list says 5.6.8, and inside the Layerslider menu, it says “an update is available for LayerSlider WP! You have version 5.6.8. The latest version is 6.3.0”.

Please check the screenshots in the private URL.

    Thanks

    Hi Rikard,

Yes, when I click on the magnifying glass, it load a search result page labelled “New search page”.

And you’re right, it’s working OK with an anonymous session, even though I’ve cleared the cache. How could this happen?

    Thanks

in reply to: LayerSlider manual update #773047

    Hi Rikard,

I’m afraid it didn’t work this way. I’ve updated the theme, which installed version is now 4.0.5 as it should. But Layerslider’s version is still 5.6.8.

So it seems Layerslider hasn’t automatically been updated through the theme’s update, and I’ll have to do it manually. Could you please explain to me how, so that I’m sure I won’t loose any slider?

    Thanks

in reply to: LayerSlider manual update #772286

    Hi Rikard,

Do you mean that updating the theme should automatically update the bundled plugins? If yes, it has never worked this way for me.

Please find an admin login in the private field.

    Thanks

    Hi Rikard,

I’m using Chrome too ! And I’ve emptied the browser’s cache.

And Firefox, Edge and Opera are working OK for me.

    Best regards

    Hi Jordan,
I’m wondering if the problem is related to LayerSlider. But since I’ve disabled it, waiting for you to solve the problem it brings with Enfold. Since that, the problem didn’t occur anymore. I could also be a cache problem related to the Enfold update.

Anyway, it’s working again as you mentioned. I’ll be careful when re-enabling LayerSlider.

    Thanks

    OK, thanks.

    Hi Yigit,

Thanks for the quick check. You’re right, It’s working properly now, but I don’t understand what happened.

I did a hard reset, and on several browser and terminals. I also emptied WP’ cache. I even tried to disable it. It’s not the first time I have this problem.

    Would you have a explanation?

    Thanks

    Hi Andy,

    Yes 3.6.1 is installed.

    HI Basilis,

Your conclusion doesn’t sound logical to me, because there is no speed issue with the frontend. However, the backend is extreamly slow. Have you tried to connect both way and see by yourself?

    Thanks

in reply to: slow admin access #648818

    Hi Rikard,

I don’t think those two plugins try to communicate constastantly. Anyway,I’ve tried to disable all the plugins, and it didn’t change a thing. The admin login is still awfully slow. Switching from dashboard, plugin page or updates page is quite slow too.

    Thanks

    Hi Yigit,

I haven’t had enough time to try it, but it seems to be the information I was looking for. So yed, you can close the thread.

    Thanks

    Hi Ismael,

Yes, that’s exactly what I meant by trigger.

    Thanks

    Hi Rikard,

Sorry, this eventually appears to be another problem. I have two plugins needing online validation from the author. They take ages and finally fail. I thought it was related to the slow backend, but it seems now that my host is blocking their URL.So please forget my two last posts.

So long for the PHP lead. What does it leave us with? What else could I try?

    Thanks

in reply to: slow admin access #647234

Oops, I forgot. They the scripts URLs used to connect to the external server.

in reply to: slow admin access #647231

    Hi Rikard,

I’ve just talked to my host. Maybe your IP address is blacklisted. Could you please tell me which one the plugin is trying to contact?

Could you also please confirm that your plugin is PHP 7 compliant? I’ve tried to check with 5.6, and it didn’t work neither, but I’d like to be sure on that too.

    Thanks

    Hi Josue,

Nice try, but switching to Twenty Sixteen didn’t improve things neither !

So if it’s not coming from the plugins, the theme or the host, what’s left ?

    Thanks

in reply to: slow admin access #646894

    Hi Basilis,

I’ve just did and it didn’t improve things at all. It seems that my host memory limit is 128M. So I guess the problem comes from somewhere else.

I seriously suspects Enfold itself to be the reason. Would it be helpful if I switched to maintenance mode and temporally activate one of the WP basic themes to see the speed result ?

    What do you suggest?

    Thanks

    Hi Vinay,

    Please use the following credentials

    Thanks

in reply to: slow admin access #646510

    Hi Rikard,

Yes, it’s only for the backend. The homepage first load takes 4,38s, which is quite good.

Of course, I’ve tried to disable all plugins, without any improvement.

    Thanks

in reply to: Search page configuration #646086

    Hi Ismael,

Why not, but what would be the trigger?

    Thanks
