Thanks Peter. I’m a little confused here, but I think we’re on the right track. To clarify what I am hoping to accomplish: I want people to be able to enter an e-mail address on my blog page so that every time I post a new blog entry they receive an e-mail prompt (either with the blog post itself in the e-mail, or just a link to the post on my page). I had this feature when I had a WordPress free blog page, and it was fairly obvious how to set it up, but I can’t seem to figure out how to do this on my WordPress website, http://www.naturaintegrativemedicine.com
I do have a MailChimp widget where folks can sign up for my ListServ, which is working very well, but I don’t want to be sending blog posts to everybody on the ListServ – I want people to sign up separately for that.
Make sense?
Thanks for all your guidance – you guys are fantastic!
Cheers,
Dr. EricaGreat, thanks.
Some follow up questions:
(1) RSS Feed – that means when I post new BLOG entries at http://naturaintegrativehealth.com/?page_id=731 that subscribers get an e-mail update, yes?
(2) What do I list for the URL? Right now when viewers click on the icon it just takes them to the blog page, there’s no prompt for them to actually enter their e-mail anywhere or subscribe.
(3) Can I remove the Follow on twitter icon and just have the RSS feed subscription option?
(3) Any way I could change the wording to say “get updates when we post new blog entries!” ???Thanks. I think I wasn’t clear with my question. I want people to be able to subscribe to my BLOG on the WEBSITE, not to my Twitter account.
How can I build that into my site?
Cheers!Hello again,
Could you give me step-by-step directions on how to do this in WordPress? I don’t understand – there’s a steep learning curve for me with website building.
Thanks for your help.Thanks. You say “Edit js > avia.js file”
Where do I find this on my dashboard? Can’t seem to locate it.Hm. Now it’s randomly working. Strange. Will let you know if it reverts, but I think we’re good! Thanks.
Thanks Devin!
That was quite helpful – PDFs are now linked on the site.
I appreciate your help.Sorry, that’s still Greek to me. How do I create a pdf folder? And where do I paste Josue’s code? When you say place it “on” http://naturaintegrativehealth.com/wp-content/themes/enfold/pdf folder, what does that literally mean stepwise?
Thanks for your patience in breaking it down for me.Ugh, sorry this is dragging on.
It’s still not working.
I applied that CSS code to both the general slider as well as to the website theme. Background image is still small and repeating.Any other ideas?
http://naturaintegrativehealth.com/Thanks for your help.
Hi Josue,
Can you break that down so it makes sense to somebody who isn’t HTML-savvy? How do I create a URL to a pdf file? It’s just a file on my computer.
Thanks for your help!Hi Ismael,
The trouble with doing what you suggested is that then the background image slides in and out, which doesn’t look quite as nice as having it be solid, with the other layers sliding across it.
Is there any other advice you have to offer to create this effect?
Thanks,
EricaHi Ismael,
Unfortunately, the problem is not yet solved.
Just one of the slides has the image full length – the rest are still repeating.
Could you try to fix this again for me?
Thanks so much! This reply has been marked as private. This reply has been marked as private.Hi Yigit,
Thanks for all your help! We’re getting there! So… When I added all the CSS you suggested, it applied the same change everywhere. Eg: Photo off to the left for both the “meet the team” images as well as the “dr. so-and-so” pages. We only want it off to the left for the “dr. so-and-so” pages. Ditto with centering the person’s name.
So, to reiterate…
This page looks good:
http://naturaintegrativehealth.com/?page_id=1212This page needs to have the image moved to the LEFT and the name likewise aligned to the LEFT:
http://naturaintegrativehealth.com/?page_id=2397
But I do NOT want those changes made to the “meet the team” page.Make sense?
Any way to isolate the CSS to only apply to the full team member bios vs. the “meet the team” overview page?Really appreciate your insights,
EricaHi Yigit,
Thanks for your help.
I copied and pasted your codes into Quick CSS under “styling” under “theme options” in my enfold theme. I tried them one at a time as well as all at once, but none of them seemed to change anything.
Could we try again?
Thanks,
Erica -
