Also – while you are in there, check out the top left corner of the text block when you open it to look at the text / css……

I noticed this text overlaying each other AFTER I updated to the most recent version. Not really a big deal to me, just thought I’d let you know.

    P.S.

I would prefer a solution inside the Enfold Theme and not via an outside plugin.

    Hi Yigit,

Thank you for that. It removed the search bar.

I am however still receiving the message
    “Nothing Found
Sorry, the post you are looking for is not available. Maybe you want to perform a search?”

    Hey Yigit,

Thanks. I will do that. I hope it’s not beyond the scope of your support, but I’m not very good with PHP. Could you tell me which sections of code to comment out (I would rather comment it out, than modify or delete it, just in case I want to add that feature back later).

I will definitely do this in a child theme as I learned the hard way a long time ago to NEVER modify the parent theme! :)

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi Ismael,

You must have literally tried it when I was in the process of moving it to my new server! :)

Try now – the site is there.

Also – please note in the private content the new password I provided (for accessing the password protected directory – not the wp-admin)… I left of an “!” at the end.

in reply to: Layerslider alignment issues. #531297

Lastly – it appears the layers container is what is off when selecting a full width slider and a left menu location…

in reply to: Layerslider alignment issues. #531296

    Just a quick update…

This appears to be an issue with the slider that comes with the theme “Enfold – most beautiful theme ever”. The slider in my site titled “Home” is a copy of that slider where I just changed the images / texts and added a couple different layers. Something made that alignment be off with the menu on the left.

I created a new slider title “alignment test”, added the same picture and a couple layers. The logo lines up perfectly with the left side of my main content area and doesn’t overlap the left menu / logo area like the copy of the enfold slider did.

The only issue is that the words are not aligning like the preview pain. This is happening in both the enfold slider and the alignment test slider I made. Please check the site on multiple screen resolutions and you will see what I’m talking about.

    Chad

in reply to: 3.1.5 Upgrade killed my Sidebars! #455506

It appears to have been solved. Did a lil “test” this a.m. and had no issues.

Thanks again for your patience (and your explanations). Both are greatly appreciated. Have a great day!

in reply to: 3.1.5 Upgrade killed my Sidebars! #455502

Thank you for the explanation. So if I’m understanding you correctly – updating to enfold 3.2 (I see it was just released) will keep my sidebars (and footer widgets as I noticed those vanished too) in tact when I upgrade to WP 4.2.2?

I really appreciate the support you guys provide, and it your theme I most often go to. Thanks for providing such a great product and a great service.

Ismael – in my post I said “I upgraded Enfold first – then upgraded WordPress”…

Not sure I understand what you mean by it should only happen once. In my opinion – it should never happen….

Are you telling me that this was a bug on previous versions of Enfold, but it is now fixed with 3.1.5?

Also – what do you mean by “special characters”. My custom sidebars (and the Enfold standard sidebars) usually contain a text widget and I will stylize the text with html and css classes. Then I usually put a Contact Form 7 shortcode in them. Are those considered “special characters”?

in reply to: 3.1.5 Upgrade killed my Sidebars! #454025

I just did another upgrade… AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN!

I upgraded Enfold first – then upgraded WordPress and it still happened. I need a fix for this because I can’t keep re building all my sidebars every time there’s an upgrade to Enfold…

Is there a way to restore the sidebars via the SQL database.. I made a backup of all my files and my database prior to doing the upgrade this time. Is there a specific table that stores the sidebar info that I could just import and have it done automatically?

in reply to: 3.1.5 Upgrade killed my Sidebars! #443970

Is this still on your radar? I have to update another site using Enfold and I do not want to lose any of the work I have done. I’m a bit scared to update that site due to what happened.

It was just a “text” area inside the “custom widget”.

In the “text” I entered a div and a paragraph with words.

In my CSS I created a background image / added some color / and setup the alignment… nothing fancy – just words with styling were placed inside the custom widget area I created for the individual pages.

in reply to: 3.1.5 Upgrade killed my Sidebars! #441991

Another FYI – I couldn’t wait for the answer so I also recreated my footer widgets. I still need a solution as I want to replace my quotes in the custom sidebar areas and figure out this problem so that I don’t kill my sidebars on any future updates or if I want to update other sites.

Thanks in advance for your help, and this is still by FAR my favorite theme I’ve ever used!

    Thank you… worked perfectly.

Clearly I need to study up on certain aspects of my CSS abilities! :)

in reply to: 3.1.5 Upgrade killed my Sidebars! #441977

FYI – I have thrown a contact form in the sidebars for now…. those are part of what disappeared. I had custom css / div’s that each had a unique customer testimonial at the top of each of those sidebar areas…

in reply to: 3.1.5 Upgrade killed my Sidebars! #441976

Also killed my footer widgets…. Will let you know if I find anything else broken.

in reply to: Disable Contact Form and all styles that go with it. #433839

Sorry for the delay in responding and thank you for this solution. Rather than eliminate the .php files I just changed the name of it and then commented out the css lines you mentioned.

I did this because I’m afraid that future theme updates will overwrite these changes. Is there a way to ensure that this does not happen? Maybe via my child theme functions.php? I was thinking maybe we could just disable the contact.php file rather than delete it. This way future updates won’t overwrite my changes.

in reply to: Remove Border on specific color section #419848

Please disregard. My coffee kicked in and I found a solution to my “issue”. :)

For those that might need it – I’ll post the solution. If you want borders on some elements and not others – you can do the following.

Remove the “.container_wrap” border via css.

Add borders in to the elements you want using their “ID”…

So in my case – I wanted no borders on a color section to I added “.container_wrap: {border-top:none} to my child themes CSS
I wanted a thin border at the top of my socket , at the bottom of my header_meta section, and just under my layer slider… so I added the css I wanted in the “ID” of each element… #socket {border-top:1px solid #d5bb66} – #header_meta {border-bottom:1px solid #d5b66} and the same for the #layerslider_5 (please note your layerslider will have a different ID associated with it.

in reply to: Inline CSS disappearing from the promo box #399101

OK – weird little update… in this case – the above line of css worked IF I removed the single quote from around the font style I was trying to apply…

    Sorry for the confusion.

in reply to: Inline CSS disappearing from the promo box #399099

FYI – All I want to do is something like this:

    <p style=”text-align: center; font-family: ‘Roboto Slab’; font-size: 18px;”>There is no love sincerer than the love of food – <span style=”font-family:’Roboto’;font-size:14px”>George Bernard Shaw</span></p>

in reply to: Inline CSS disappearing from the promo box #399095

Sorry for the late response – have been working on other projects…

This won’t work because I want to put a <span> tag inside a <p> tag for one off changes… I don’t want to style the entire element.

When I add a <span> tag in the text editor – it just disappears upon saving… This is not normal. Please help….

    Thanks

in reply to: WooCommerce single product page sidebars not showing up. #321323

Thanks for looking into this, and thanks for asking Kriesi to look at it as well.

Just an FYI – there are customization options on the product pages (posts?)….

    single Product Page

As you can see in the screenshot – I can choose a customized sidebar option on the product pages, I can choose “Single Product Pages”…. the problem is that if I have my shop page set to “no sidebar” and I turn on the “Single Product Pages” sidebar on an individual product – the “parent page” (shop) settings for sidebar seem to over ride the settings on the individual product pages.

Let me know if you need anything from me…. Glad to help, and I love this theme….especially the support you guys provide.

in reply to: WooCommerce single product page sidebars not showing up. #318370

There is no option for “default” on the sidebar option in Theme settings. The only choices are “left sidebar”, “right sidebar”, or “no sidebar”.

    Enfold SideBar Options

Regardless of the theme settings – if I change the settings on an individual page under that pages “Layout” options, it should not affect the sidebar settings on a different page / post as the choices on individual pages are exactly that…. settings for that page only.

    page layout options

This is a bug of some sort as all I did was change the settings on the “Shop” page (not in the theme settings) from “default” to “no sidebar” and it forced the WooCommerce Sidebar to be hidden on the Individual Item post pages.

I am still left with my issue of not being able to disable the sidebar on my “shop” page as it is affecting things other than that page.

    Thanks for your help.

in reply to: WooCommerce single product page sidebars not showing up. #318358

I FOUND IT! After 2 hours of playing around with settings, I figured out what was causing it….Possibly a bug so I thought I’d report it.

On the “Shop” page )that was created by the wooCommerce plugin) I changed the “Layout” from Default to “No Sidebar”. Some Reason this affects the display on the individual product pages (the possible “bug” since a setting on 1 page should not affect the setting on another page.

This also leaves me with the problem of not being able to remove the sidebar on my “shop” page (which lists all products entered into woo commerce.

Can you help with that and do you want me to start another thread for it since it’s technically a different problem?

Thanks in advance and LOVE your theme.

in reply to: WooCommerce single product page sidebars not showing up. #318345

I realize this thread is a bit old, but my sidebar widgets were working on the “Single Product Pages” then they disappeared.

What did you do to fix them?

When I check the view sorce – there are “hidden” classes on their now. Any ideas what would make it go from working to not working? I did not add any widgets or do anything that I could think would have affect it.

in reply to: Blank/white page after theme activation #292283

Tried about a bazillion things – including the things listed above… then it was brought to my attention by a GoDaddy tech support guy (cough, cough)….. that my WordPress was version 3.3.1 – not 3.9.1…

    DOH! FACEPALM!

updated WordPress – all is working now!

Funny how the biggest problems can be resolved by the most basic things… LOL

Have a great day – and GREAT THEME!

I think I found a “simple” solution to the preview looking different than the final rendering problem with layerslider. Hopefully, there can be a coded solution as some people may not know how to do this.

When you using a “text” layer, ALWAYS select “paragraph” – do NOT select “h1” (or any of the other “h” tags. Wrap your text in a <span> tag and use inline css to style your text.

When I did this – the text lined up pixel for pixel in the live version (as compared to the previewed slideshow).

Also – just to be clear – if you are using a “boxed” version of this theme, the website is 1130 wide – NOT the usual 960px. Set your slider width to 1130 and the height to whatever you want. I would guess (but I’m not using it so I’m not sure) that if you are doing a full width version – you would want to set your inner “invisible” container to 1130….. but don’t quote me on that.

For you non coders – look up inline css for more advanced stuff, but for the most part I’m guessing you will only want to change the color and the size of the text. Here is an example of the code you could use to make the font big and yellow.

    <span style=”color:yellow;font-size:34px”>Is a WHOLE LIE</span>

in reply to: Blank/white page after theme activation #291842

Was there ever a solution to this problem?

Activated Enfold just fine on 1 site – tried it on another and got a blank white screen. I get the white screen in the “preview” also.

    Chad
