The main problem is that the excerpts are too short and I can’t find any options for these. I have used the ‘read more’ tag in the posts, but it doesn’t seem to affect what comes through on the blog page, I only get very short excerpts, not up to the ‘read more’.

I’ve used ‘magazine’ to get the top post full width, then used the blog posts element (not to duplicate) for 2 columns beneath. I’m open to other suggestions. I was trying to copy something like style on the Kriesi 2017 demo ‘blog modern’ with a top main story then a grid beneath of older stories.

But it doesn’t look right with very short excerpts. Is there a setting or some custom css I can use to get more excerpt on the page.

ah darn – picked the wrong one! yes of course, the sidebar is showing now. Is there a way I can add the border (vertical separator) that separates the sidebar from the page content – like appears on normal pages?

Thank you, that’s what I wanted – to create a fake sidebar. So I’ve removed the default sidebar to make content full width and in the 1/4 area added widgets/sidebar – but on the page it is blank in that area, the sidebar doesn’t show. Perhaps the commend not to show sidebar is fighting with the widget? Link in private content.

Also, how can I ‘fake’ the keyline/border between sidebar and main content i.e. between the 3/4 and 1/4 areas?

Hi Andy, the slides overlap when the transitions start – see screenshots below. we end up with both images and both lots of text at the same time.

Hi, i’ve created a duplicate of the slider called ‘home copy’ and put it in a separate page so you can see it. This is the same slider but with the 2nd slide unhidden, so that you can see the overlapping problem.

the main slider is called ‘home’ and that has the 2nd slide hidden as it’s live on the home page.

Hi, the slides are still overlapping, but as I needed to launch it, I’ve ‘hidden’ the 2nd layer of the layerslider for now. If you unhide the 2nd slide you’ll see them overlap.

Unfortunately due to the way we’re building the site, you’d need to adjust the hosts file as well – are you OK to do that? If not, i’ll have to launch the site with a static layerslider, then you can definitely have a link when it’s live on the new hosting.

Hi, there is definitely a lag – the text changes noticeably after the image. I want the text to change at the same time as the image. What settings do I need to adjust please, so that the text goes when the image does? And arrives exactly at the same time as the new image?

I now have a border on as well but it appeared even on desktop and I wanted it to only appear when the navigation disappears. I have added in a bit for @media only screen and (max-width: 989px) and it’s all working now.

Hi, i’ve added that and it has stopped the hover navigation buttons appearing on mobile, but I’m still not seeing the top border on the layerslider – can you help on that as well?
