Wonderful! (Partly) worked like a charm.
Only the hover effect still trails behind the box shadow so that on hover the box shadow built a box and afterwards the effect fills the box with the background image. Can this be simultaniously?
I’m using chrome by the way.Edit: sorry, ok, no everything is fine, but now it is simply gone entirely. I want it, but not delayed =)
Is there any way to call the sub menu not from the editor but from a template file or the functions.php?
The thing is, that the sub menu is placed as a main-content content in the advanced layouter. But the Product pages and the category pages are generated automatically (and to my knowledge not editable). So I need to include the menu directly in the template file or through a hook.As for the Styling: I circled the entry on the menu. I would need the whole block around “accessoires” for example to be grey and be able to hover on it. If I try to style it the only thing I can achiev is only the text having the background, but not the whole box.
nope… that doesnt work. That makes just the first entry of the menu red (at least its the whole height) and additionaly the submenu of the first entry. not quite what I wanted =)
And: how can I add this menu as a function in the functions.php or a template file?
your code didn’t work either for the styling of the sub_menu. It just changes the drop down of the sub menu, which is nice, but not exactly what I had hoped for. For clarification I want to edit the categories ( In my case ACCESSOIRES and so on) and have them have a hover effect
Aditionally I want to display said manu on the categories page of woocommerce, which is not a normal site to be edited. Do you know how I can make the menu appear by editing the template files or so?

thank you very much, that did the trick. Problem was, that there was no update for WPML at the 25th. Now all is well.

I tinkered a little bit around and found out that it is the WPML Plugin breaking the ability to set the preview image. Do you still need the access to the site or do you know how to fix it?
I would leave it deactivated but I really need it for the site.Best

thanks for the tip, the fix with enebling it in the php.ini solved the problem partially.
Now there is no error mesage, but when you click on the play button, the loading circle-thingy will come, but the video won’t load or start.
Any solutions?If you want to take a look: http://frei-cycle.de/videos at the bottom, the others are embedded youtube videos that work properly.
