Is there a way to put a little less spacing between the links in the nav menu so it’s shorter and will all fit into one line on a 1024 screen?
I would prefer not to use a burger menu on tablets.
It’s a ‘full-width sub menu’ I added in the actual page.
Thanks I think I have it all figured out. Appreciate the help.
Thanks, that did the trick to get it full width.
I do have a reversed image uploaded at https://www.new.barrelracingtips.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/mcbottomfade.png
Would love to get the CSS to add that to the bottom of the main content area. Thanks!
Sorry I mis-typed above, I meant to say that I’d prefer to not have to use a burger menu on tablets if possible?
Thanks for the code. That helped a little but the dashed line only underlined the actual heading text. I need it to extend across the width of the content.
I have used this code to get close to what I want:
#top #wrap_all h3.av-special-heading-tag {
margin-top: -30px;
}.av-special-heading.av-special-heading-h3{
/*styling for dashed underline under page headings*/
border-bottom: 2px dashed #CCBDB8!important;
margin-bottom: -30px!important;
}The heading text and content text is spaced/aligned how I want it with this, but the dashed underline is too low (in the content text) – I want it centered between (see site home page). I have worked on this for hours trying every possible css combination I can think of… every time either achieving no result or mis-aligning it completely. Please advise.
I come across another issue with my menu. It seems on tablet size devises that the last link gets lowered into the white main content area and can no longer be seen. I’d prefer to have have to use the burger menu on all tablets, is there some custom css to make the entire menu fit on those devices?
I would also like to set another flipped version of this faded background to appear just above the footer. Is it possible to set that with Custom CSS?
Thank you. That did the trick, I appreciate it. Was still having some issues with that part, but I opened a new thread for it to stay on one topic. Thanks again.
Sorry, it’s on the home page of my site. Will post in the PC.
I’m referring to the brown/tan faded top background image in the Main Content Area, not the image in the Full Width Easy Slider on the home page (I just put that up temporarily to get a feel for the look, haven’t started permanently adjusting or deciding on images for that area yet).
I’ll provide my site details below… I’ve done a lot of changes to the CSS that have worked for getting other parts to full width but can’t seem to get it right for this part. Thanks.

Would it be possible/a good idea for you to remove the fontello code in functions.php?
Really want to keep my code as clean as possible as I dive into this big web-site re-do.
THANKS AGAIN! :)Thank you, I’m getting closer to having it perfect!
I’d like to increase the size of the ‘Receive Free Winning Tips’ text on desktop, but this isn’t working:#header_meta h6 a, #header_meta h6{
/*size and spacing for small header bar text*/
font-size: 16px!important;
padding-right:15px!important;
}I’d also like to add a little bit of space on the right side of the text. I don’t want that text to be Open Sans, but would like the text in the actual form to be. Appreciate the help!
Ah, looks like it’s working now – thanks Jordan! :D
July 3, 2018 at 8:03 pm in reply to: Adding a Facebook LIKE button/icon to small bar above logo area? #980728That looks good, Mike – thanks!
I did a little tweaking to the position and have it just right.Although in the process of all these adjustments, it seems the font size of my social icons is now the same on mobile and desktop. The size is supposed to be 26px on desktop?
Would you mind taking a look at that, please?
Also, should I remove the text we added to functions.php for the original plan with fontello?
I want to keep code tidy if I can.
Thanks again!Thanks Jordan, but it doesn’t seem to work to position the dash on mobile.
When I switched the padding to top (instead of bottom) as an experiment for mobile, it puts space above all the text, too.July 3, 2018 at 4:03 am in reply to: Adding a Facebook LIKE button/icon to small bar above logo area? #980368Wow, this is fantastic, thank you! Is there a way to put it on the left side of the other icons? It’s perfect! :)
Just bumping this up?
Thank you, I was able to get the look I wanted with that! :)
It looks good on desktop, but it’s not appearing properly on mobile – can you test it and offer an css code adjustment?

Thanks, that did make the social icons smaller on mobile, but the line of text is still dropping off below the small top bar… I’d like it all to be centered and contained within the small top bar on mobile (without impacting how it’s aligned on desktop)?
As of right now, it appears there needs to be less space above and below the icons on mobile? Do you have code for that?
July 2, 2018 at 7:47 pm in reply to: Adding a Facebook LIKE button/icon to small bar above logo area? #980246Hi Mike,
I tried re-downloading the ‘thumbs-up’ icon and it worked as a .ZIP file this time. I uploaded it, then changed the ‘icon_name’ to ‘thumbs_up’ in functions.php, but now I’m stuck again.Should I be seeing the icon in the small top bar? Or is there something else I must change in the functions.php? I’d like for that thumbs up icon to, when clicked, allow people to LIKE my Facebook page (with that single click).
Thanks for all the great help!
Thanks so much, I like how that looks? Is there a way to make the social icons a little smaller only on mobile so they and the link all fit nicely in the small top bar?
Thanks, I’ll try that – I see that the white is still sticking out under the purple grunge background image on mobile. Is there code to add to address that?
Actually, now that I refresh, the purple grunge background image isn’t coming up at all now on mobile – please help!?- This reply was modified 6 years, 4 months ago by Moondreamer21.
THANK YOU! What would be a good way to set this code up on other pages? Most pages/posts will have it… but there will be a handful of single column sales pages that won’t.
Hi again. No matter what the background image size, it was still getting stretched and cut off by 400px on each side, but I managed to figure that issue out on my own.
The issue that still remains is that when at the top of my page, there is white color behind the grungy purple logo background image… it’s transparent when I scroll down but the white is there when at the top of the page.
I can change the white COLOR of this background, when I select the SOCKET color in the Settings, strangely enough, but no matter what I do – like delete the color from that setting or add custom css, I can’t get that background color to be transparent when I’m at the top of the page – spent hours on this today – please help!
Thanks Mike, that code worked to get them to appear!
However, they are center aligned and it pushed down the other line of text I have in the small top bar on mobile.
Is there some code to make them align on the right and allow room for the other content in that bar?
Thanks again. :)Thanks again Mike, I was able to achieve the look I wanted! Appreciate the help!
No sir, it’s coming up fine. Link is the same, I’ll re-share it below.
I’m also interested in centering the text and opt-in so I don’t have to use a big margin or padding on the left of it, and as I mentioned the spacing below it is pushing down the content in the logo area.
I would also like to make the font in the field and submit button Open Sans – have not had luck when trying to change that.
So to summarize what I’m wanting to achieve:
* Entire heading and opt-in fields to be aligned and centered horizontally and vertically in the small top bar.
*Only the heading text (a link) visible on mobile, not the opt-in form – I’d like it centered and for the social media icons to appear on the right on mobile also.
*For the opt-in code to be styled in a way that it doesn’t push down the content in the logo area.
*For all text in the opt-in code to be font style Open Sans.Please see the latest opt-in form code in functions.php – I look forward to your help/reply!
One more thing – is there some code to adjust the hover effect on each search item that drops down?
I see it darkens a bit when moused over, but just barely.Thanks Mike, just what I needed!
