Dear Mike, it worked like a charm. Thank you very much!!!!

Hi, this is not resolved at all, but what we hear is that you will fix this in the next update. In the meantime I solved this temporarily by installing a plug in that turns the new WP block editor off, but obviously that is not a solution.

So if we rephrase your question from “is this solved” to “is there anything we can do now, or should we close the ticket”, the answer is – yes, it seems that you can close it.

    Thank you!

in reply to: Hide default WPML language switcher #1210803

I managed to extract the solution by tweaking the answers from one of the existing topics: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/dropdown-menu-wmpl-does-not-work-only-shows-vertically/

In my case I just wanted the default ENFOLD language switcher to disappear totally, so that the switcher I created in the W P M L can be there instead (nit both of them). The solution is to put this code in the Enfold: functions.php :

    add_action('after_setup_theme','avia_remove_main_menu_flags', 999);
    function avia_remove_main_menu_flags(){
            remove_action( 'avia_meta_header', 'avia_wpml_language_switch', 10);
    	    remove_filter( 'wp_nav_menu_items', 'avia_append_lang_flags', 9998, 2 );
    		remove_filter( 'avf_fallback_menu_items', 'avia_append_lang_flags', 9998, 2 );
    }

My problem is solved, but I am leaving this in case someone else would need it.
    Thank you.

Sometimes – but only sometimes you send a short question to a support and you get a quick short answer that solves everything. This is one of these rare moments :)

Works like charm! Perfect! that is exactly what I wanted.
    Thank you

    Dear Rikard, regarding your

    “This link works just fine”

Some would find it very arrogant and unfriendly. Please, you can not think that all of us claimed “just for fun” that the link is not working, as we do not have anything better to do. It DID NOT work for several days, and it is confirmed by many users.
Now, I can see that you managed to fix this, whatever it was, and that the link work again – that is great and thank you very much for that, and thank you for copying the content here as well.

Hi Victoria, the link you shared is not working.

Thank you for the tip, but installing a third-party plugin in order to make the theme work is not a sufficient solution for using Enfold.

in reply to: Unable to upgrade from Enfold 4.41 to 4.5 #1030678

I have the same on several websites I run with Enfold, hosted on different webhotels.

in reply to: Enfold + WPML – translated pages rendered wrongly #882191

It is strange. It didn’t look like that when I left it last time. The color section at the bottom of the page was not “ending” where it supposed to, but instead stretching all the way to the very bottom of the page. But now it is ok.

On the other hand, there is still a problem with the paddings between the elements/blocks inside the color section. This problem was typical for the original issue this topic was started about.

    http://ester.rs/1.jpg
Note the way too smal space between the blocks. It is not like that on the rest of the page.

    http://ester.rs/2.jpg
All looks normal on the other side…

    Hi,
I played some more with the page http://ester.rs/en/introduction/ and managed to add another color section and then the old main problem appeared again – the color section “spread” over the rest of the page. Please see the section “3. Remembrance” – I added color section around it, but it “spread” further over the section “4. Teaching and learning about the Holocaust” and the social media buttons in the bottom of the page. It is not what it suppose to do. So the old problem, the main problem, is still there. I will leave it like this so you can examine it.

    best,
    Misko

in reply to: Enfold + WPML – translated pages rendered wrongly #879707

Hi, the translated pages looks fine because I reduced the design to the minimum. Otherwise I had different color sections on different parts of it, but when the bug (?) appeared I had to simplify everything to make it look ok.

I was trying to re-implement color sections on this page http://ester.rs/en/introduction/ and I managed to create one color section, but the other color sections I couldn’t create because of the problem I described in my earlier post. (not able to click “save”) I mean – I could “create it”in the editor, but could not save it.

    best regards,
    Misko

Hi! This was a long time ago, I missed your question. Do you still need access to my site?

in reply to: Enfold + WPML – translated pages rendered wrongly #786057

I appreciate your efforts, and as an old user of Enfold I have trust in your devoted professionalism. That is the reason I chose Enfold to work with on my websites. Also, I understand that it is a complex task to be up to date and 100% compatible with the variety of all different plugins. It is all clear, and I am confident that you will find the way to fix it this way or the other. I am certain that you are doing as much as you can.

Still, it would be great if you could give us some updates about the status of the problem and the latest development – for instance that the WPML team has contacted you
and that from your point of view it is their task to come up with the fix, and that you are not working on it. Then we, the users, can focus our efforts to help the WPML team in their work on the solution.

    Hi!
With all due respect, but when you say “..bug in the script tends to..” , “..wrapping in a color section somehow fixes this..” , and “..do this as much as possible..” it sounds like you guys still do not really know what is (was?) the cause of this problem. I do “wrap everything in color sections as much as possible” but that is really not good enough. I have websites that I was working on for last 6 months or so and now I am really reluctant to update any content as it may (? usually it does) result in messed up design, lots of fixing and working just to make it “not being totally messed up” – but not in the way it used to be and not as I originally designed it. The guys at the WPML looked for the problem and their verdict is that it was a result of an “older versions of their plugin in combination with a particular version of Enfold”.
But what now – when we know (do we?) the cause of the problem? How to really fix it? For us users it is not important is it Enfold or the WPML who should come up with a fix – but guys, please, we need it.

in reply to: Enfold + WPML – translated pages rendered wrongly #763216

    Thank you Ismael!
This works, but it is just a temporary “workaround”, as there are elements that can not be moved into color sections, such as e.g. a fullwidth slider and the new “tab element”.

I did this for this page: http://www.arhiv-beograda.org/holokaust/?lang=en
but the tab section has wrongly displayed margins around the titles and the text – and as you know – I can not put the tab section inside the color section. (compare the Serbian and English versions of this page tab section under “The Outcomes”)

But thank you very much for your help!
I am working with the guys from the WPML support at the moment, and I hope that there will be a long-term solution for this. Of course I will share it with you here.

    best,
    Misko

in reply to: Enfold + WPML – translated pages rendered wrongly #762059

Hi Ismael, thank you for your response. This happened on several of my websites run on different servers (providers) all run with Enfold and WPML latest versions, and the latest WP. (These different websites even use different other plugins, so except for Enfold and WPML they are not simple copies of the same setting).

The strangest part is that the translated pages used to be fine, but after the update (I am not sure – WP, Enfold, WPML – all were updated in the meantime), as soon as I saved any changes on the website, the corresponding translated page would get this error.

I think that the WPML is translating parts of the code it shouldn’t, or something like that… But as I said, I never changed any settings in the meantime, it just “turned bad”.

    regards
    Misko

in reply to: Enfold + WPML – translated pages rendered wrongly #759505

I know that people in the WPML are
very serious about keeping it compatible with the most popular WP themes, and their support is very professional. Yes, I did send the similar ticket to them, too. I didn’t get any response yet. But I think that it is important that you at Enfold are aware of this. Also, I would like to skip being sent from one support to the other, so I asked both :) I will keep you informed about what I learned from WPML people, but I also expect that you might have some ideas or advices?

I just want to confirm: disabling WF Firewall, then put it on learning, then back to “On” – did the trick. Avia Editor is back again…

Guys, you should speak with the WF people about this!

    Guys I got it!
I was searching and searching and trying so many things.
But it seems that the problem was a wrong version of the bbPress + some strange code in index.php file.
The bbPress I have now is the latest: 2.5.4
The index.php file had a huge chunk of some crazy code before the “usual” lines. It was some junk leftover from some plugin (?) maybe..
However when I edited index.php AND updated bbPress the things got back to normal.
I dont know if this make ANY sense, but I am very very happy that it works, for whatever reason!!!!!!

    • This reply was modified 9 years, 10 months ago by Misko.

The site is on PHP Version 5.3.29

Actually, it seems that I have the exact same problem on another website I work with, also with Enfold theme, here: http://danisecanja.rs
It is set as “boxed” in settings, but obviously it is not displayed as boxed. It probably has the same problem with sidebar, but I don’t use sidebars on this website – that is why I didn’t even noticed.

I am pretty sure that everything was just fine until some update – when I noticed that the menu moved to the left and “broke”.
    It looks like this:
Broken menu (move to the left)
Then I noticed that if I choose NOT to have Sticky Header and Shrinking Header the menu at least move back to the center (but the boxed layout is still broken).
    It looks like this:
Menu move back to the center, but still no boxed layout

But I can’t afford experimenting on this website. That’s why the other ( http://terraforming.edu.rs/) is available for now for any sort of testing.

Dear Elliott, you asked me the same thing in your message form February 16, 2015 at 6:32 pm, so I already tried that.
But I did it again, just in case. Unfortunately it didn’t help. The only change is that the default front page is another one – but the sidebar is still broken. I left it like that now. That is “default” – as is – from the box setting that comes with Enfold.

I think I should explain that I have give up all Enfold settings, my website content, and all plugins, in order to find a solution for this error.
This mean that there are NO theme settings that I need to save (I will create new one later), there is no need for any sort of backup, there are NO plugins, and the current content is there purely for error-search and testing. In other words you can test, play with, delete, create, and do whatever is needed in order to find the problem.
    Thank you!

in reply to: when choosing boxed layout header and sidebar displayed wrong #399363

Hi Elliott, and thank you for your help.

I deleted ALL plugins since several days. There are NO plugins whatsoever.
I did deleted the theme completely before. But just to be absolutely super-sure, I deleted it now again (through FTP). Then I installed it again from the latest version of the zip file downloaded from themeforest.
I reseted the theme several times.
But the error is the same.

Please, be my guest: try anything and test as much as you need.
    greets
    Misko

I also tried a fresh WP installation in another test folder, and Enfold works fine there…
    But what is wrong here?

in reply to: when choosing boxed layout header and sidebar displayed wrong #398054

Thank you @Remco for your input!
No, I don’t use Russian translation. I use english WP and english Enfold, but the website itself is in Serbian (will be if I ever fix this! ;)
However, just in desperation, I tried to delete entire “lang” folder but nothing was different.
Then I tried to change WP language to some other language and as I speak Swedish I choose that. The WP interface changes – no problem, the Enfold interface changes to Swedish nicely, but the messed up sidebar and non-working boxed layout are still there!

    Desperation…

It is still broken. This is driving me crazy! What is wrong??
I did not add any custom modification (not that I am aware of).
I tried this already before – to delete the dynamic_avia folder – but it didn’t help.
I deleted ALL plugins (not only to deactivate, I deleted all).
I reinstalled the fresh-download Enfold theme (via FTP) .
    I reinstalled the WordPress 4.1
I imported the demo from your website in order to test it, and the error is the same even with your demo pages.
    It is still broken!

I can not use the boxed layout. I can not get the background of the boxed layout (it doesnžt change at all whatever I try).
The sidebar is broken and falling under the main content. The header is broken and the logo is at the far left (instead to be at the place where the logo in boxed format suppose to be).

    What could cause the error???

    best regards
    Misko

Hi Elliott and thank you for your efforts!
I did all of it and it didn’t help, unfortunately.
The header is still wrongly displayed in boxed layout (the logo moves all the way to the left edge of the screen).
Both in boxed and stretched layout the sidebar is broken and falls under the main content.

It did work fine until some of the latest updates…
Ok, do you have some other idea what could be wrong?

    greets
    Misko
