May 7, 2019 at 9:24 pm in reply to: Classic AND Avia Layout Builder display in edit mode = not able to update #1098204Thanks, but that doesn’t sound too reassuring :) I’ll keep it at the version I have as I already tried a complete re-install over FTP during my early troubleshooting and it didn’t work. That, of course, was before I updated my PHP version but I’m very hesitant to try it again.
Thanks again for your help.
-MichaelMay 6, 2019 at 11:47 pm in reply to: Classic AND Avia Layout Builder display in edit mode = not able to update #1097847Hi,
I’ve just upgraded php to version 7.2. The same problem persists.
Yes, the problem occurred at the last enfold theme update. So I removed the theme files completely and reinstalled an older version of enfold that I had saved locally.
Yes, I would kindly appreciate your help with updating.
Thanks

@Basilis @Mike @IsmaelReally sorry to bring others into this, but I need help. A moderator has deleted my enfold theme folder and attempted to reinstall via the wp interface. Apparently this didn’t work, and he asked for my FTP creds to FTP the them back. This was almost 20 hours ago and I haven’t had a reply – site still is not up.
This is quite serious for me. The website is down. I’m concerned because I haven’t even had a response from him since I provided FTP details.
Hi there,
Are any moderators able to please look into this? You’ve deleted the theme files and asked for creds to FTP the theme files back, which I provided. My site is still down and has been now for 15+ hours. Please help ASAP.
Thank you,
MichaelNot trying to be a pest, but site has now been down 1.5 hours. Can you please confirm you have ftp access? Site is for a company in US time zone and relies on customers accessing this time of day.
Thank you,
MichaelHi there @yigit
Were you able to get in?
This reply has been marked as private. This reply has been marked as private.Same issue. My sites are in English – not sure if the German issue has any affect.
I downloaded the two php files that Yogit posted to drop box, replaced. Still the continuous spinning circle persists on edit page. Please help.
Anybody? Please, the problem described above persists.
@Yigit, you’ve helped me before. Any thoughts on a resolution?I just read Kresi’s note about updating the them to resolve this.
How do I update my theme? No updates are listed on my dashboard.
October 5, 2015 at 6:57 pm in reply to: Changing Font Color in 'Special Header' corrupts links on my page. #514014@Elliott Thanks for checking. Would you mind looking at my page? I haven’t tried contacting my provider but will.
October 5, 2015 at 6:17 pm in reply to: Changing Font Color in 'Special Header' corrupts links on my page. #513977I was hoping you could try this in a test bank account of your own if possible. I know I am getting the error and hoped it would be repeated on a separate account. I’ll get the creds for a support login if necessary, but am really hoping you can try it on your own account. I have two separate domains where this is occurring.
As I mentioned, yes I am running the most recent versions of both Enfold an WP, and that deactivated all plugins.
Same story when in Default theme. If I attempt to add the link to the PDF in the text box where I want it, about middle of the page, I get the SAME forbidden error.
If I add a new textbox at the end of the page, it adds just fine, lets me update, etc. Let me stress that this is not a solution, as the link needs to be up in the appropriate text box in the appropriate section of the page.
Thanks,
MichaelLooks like I found the issue for the second issue – I clicked on “Enfold>” and the frontpage wasn’t selected. It must clear when you activate a different theme?
Is there anything else you know that needs to be reset?
Anyway – I’ll try again with the default theme (which makes me nervous) and look into the link settings on Sunday– I just can’t believe it’s this difficult to insert a link. Enfold was so easy to use two months ago, and now linking to existing pdfs is destroying my page. Pictures in the same directory as this pdf are all over my site – I’m just throwing my hands up at this frustrating experience. I cannot understand that a link to a pdf in the same directory as my pics will not save.
I don’t see the avia builder when I activate the default WordPress theme.
I can look at that tomorrow – but now even more pressing is this:
Ever since I activated the “default” them and then back to enfold, now I have the following problem: (in private content):I activated default and went to edit… Looks like everything had to be written out in HTML, is that right? I didn’t edit anything and changed back to enfold immediately. Edited, tried again, got the same error.
Is there something I should do when in default theme?
Thanks again. I’m still hang the issues BUT I have narrowed it down to this:
If I add a new text box to the END of the page, I CAN insert link, no problem. I save, it functions correctly. It’s when I try to insert the link in the middle of the page (where it needs to be) that there is an issue. So, I thought maybe it wasn’t accepting the link within a “Color Section” — but that’s not the case; After saving, I moved a WORKING text box from the bottom of the page into the middle of the page (between color sections, sliders, catalogs, etc). I tried placing the textbox itself into a color section, as well as leaving it independent. Either way, I press update and I get the Forbidden error.
Could it be the code in some of these other elements that is causing this “forbidden” error?
Hi Dake,
Thank you for the reply.
I ran the update on DE, and cleared caches. On both sites, I can insert a pdf as an “Attachment Page” only, but not a “Media File”. I’d rather link to a media file than force the user to navigate through an intermediate page.
As you mention, you successfully did the link on test pages. I can repeat that as well – links work on new pages I create. It’s my live pages that are giving me the forbidden errors. Any ideas?
-Michael

Here are the two logins:
I have no plugins activated and the versions are up to date. The problems remain.
