Hi Enfold Team,
I figured it out! I had to add this:
.layersliderbold {
font-weight: bold; color:#ffffff!important;
}to my theme wide quick css field not the style custom css field in the layer slider. Then I used <div class=”layersliderbold”> and closed that with </div> at the end

Hi Rikard,
Good to know, thanks! I’m looking forward to it. I really love this theme but some more mobile control would put it over the top :)
Thanks again for all your help,
Mary
Hi Rikard,
Thanks for the tip. I published privately and checked it directly on my phone and it is responsive. Now I just need to tweak it so it looks good on both. It’d be great if Enfold had the option of having an alternate layer slider, colour section, or image for mobile. Especially to have the option to load a static image on mobile where you are using a video, would be amazing.
That’s great about the updates, thanks!Mary
Hi Ismael,
The slider is located on a test page not the home page. It is not live currently but I just shrink my browser to test the mobile look, it is currently not responsive. The homepage is just a colour section because I couldn’t get the slider to work with video when I was first designing the website.
Thanks for looking into this,
Mary

Thanks for the tip, I will look into it changing them over.
Thanks,

Hi Andy,
Oops sorry I forgot the website link. I’ve got it to look a bit better but it is difficult to work with because the preview is cut off. Also the text seems to be responsive but not the Request Demo button I create with text and styling or the image, on smaller screens the button covers the text and the image is cut off.
Thanks for the help,
Mary

Thanks so much for the suggestion! I wish I had thought of that in the beginning. If I go and delete the Advanced Styling for the H1 now will all the H1s on my site revert to some default or stay the way they are?
Thanks,
MaryAugust 19, 2015 at 3:53 pm in reply to: Changing the "default font size" in a text box doesn't do anything #490166Hi Rikard,
I gave the special heading element a shot but no matter what size I changed the heading size to it didn’t work, it just stayed my site wide defined H1 size. The code you sent did work though, so thank you for that. I’ve left both elements in place on the page if you wanted to look into it further.
Thanks,
Mary
Hi Josue,
Thanks for the honesty! I’ll give it a shot sometime.

Thanks for offering to take a look.

Hi Josue,
Thanks for the tip. Though I wouldn’t really know if I should do that because you didn’t answer my questions;
“The top section has role=main. We cant really do a work around for this. It is pretty bad form to set “main” for just your headline, that is not your main content”
What does this mean? Also is there any chance that this designation of “main content” on each post messes with my SEO results or how google sees my content? If the answers is Yes then obviously I should turn your markup off.
I’ve been struggling to recover my rankings after switching to Enfold and am trying to figure out ways to get it back and this could be something affecting it but I just don’t know. Thanks for the help,
Mary
Hi Ismael,
I have finally heard back from the plugin creators. They looked at a post of mine where the share buttons wouldn’t appear and said, “The top section has role=main. We cant really do a work around for this. It is pretty bad form to set “main” for just your headline, that is not your main content”
What does this mean? Also is there any chance that this designation of “main content” on each post messes with my SEO results or how google sees my content? Thanks,
Mary
Hi Rikard,
I can’t seem to find anything about short codes for SumoMe, they use their own interface for setting up their plugins. I noticed I am able to set display rules for specific URLs so the work around is just setting up a rule for each blog post.
Just for curiosity’s sake, is there some way to restore the native wordpress “post” classification on ALB posts? Thanks for all the help Rikard!
Mary
Hi Josue,
I’m talking more backend indexing than layout templates, since wordpress still has all my posts under the posts tab, ALBs and regular, shouldn’t SumoMe recognize that it’s a post? My posts widgets and elements all do so I really don’t see why SumoMe can’t.
I will try to reach out to them as well. Thanks,
Mary
Hi Rikard,
I think you might have misunderstood me, the built in Enfold share buttons are functioning fine and I have had no problem adding them to my ALB posts. My issue is that my SumoMe share buttons plugin, which I would prefer to use over the native Enfold ones, just has a setting to have them appear “on pages containing an article” but for some reason they are not showing up my blog posts which I designed using the ALB. Also I don’t see any sort of shortcode for SumoMe plugins just the display settings build into their interface. Are you saying that just using the ALB removes the native wordpress post designation that the plugin would be picking up on to display the buttons?
Thanks,
Mary
Hi Rikard,
Thanks for the tip! Can’t believe I didn’t consider that.
Have a great day,
Mary
Hi Andy,
Thank you so much for all your help, it totally worked!
Mary
Hi Andy,
I am trying to add an extra line of space before the bold headings on this page > http://www.mindscope.com/big-data-and-the-science-of-recruiting/
Thanks,
Mary
Hi Basilis,
Thanks for jumping in to help. I’m still a bit confused because a couple of the images changed but some others that are the exact same size and added as a featured image to the exact same type of post didn’t change. I inspected the element to confirm that I had removed cropping from that size and I have from the closest size on the list under media settings, the portfolio_small size. You can see here the difference in size > http://www.mindscope.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Post-error.png < Do you think regenerating pages and portfolio items as well for that size will fix the issue?
Thanks,
Mary
Hi Josue,
Yes I did it as I changed the crop setting on each size. I did it just for posts though, not sure if that would affect my results since i am only worried about post images.
Mary
Hi Josue,
Okay thanks. I think I will just leave it as is for now. Hopefully WordPress itself will address the issue in an update soon.
Thanks,
Mary
Hi Josue,
So really there is no way to get the site to have a proper hierarchy with permalinks that show it? I can only index the pages so google understands? You mentioned that in my other thread on this issue > https://kriesi.at/support/topic/permalinks-structure/
Thank you for all your help!
Mary
Hi Andy,
I was able to remove the cropping form the portfolio_small size, so now I can see the whole image which is not exactly what I wanted but it works. There are still some post feature images that aren’t being affected by these changes. What image size are these square ones so I can remove the cropping from that too? http://www.mindscope.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Thumbnail-error.png
Currently I have “no cropping” settings on:
Square size
Extra large size
Portfolio small size
Masonry size
Shop thumbnail size
Shop single size
Yet these square ones are still being cropped. Thanks,
Mary
Hi Josue,
As I mentioned above, I thought I could use the categories in the permalinks but it wouldn’t solve the whole problem because for example, on the press releases there are two extensions I need before the press release title /company/news-and-press-releases/. I am starting to feel like what I need is not possible with WordPress which is pretty disappointing. Is there anyway you guys can add a feature to make a page the parent of a post? I feel like that would solve all my issues.
Thanks!
Hi Josue,
That looks like it could be my solution but quick question and little more explanation before I go ahead with it: I have posts that are not blogs, for example press releases and resources that I would ideally like to have permalinks formatted with their own parent pages int he permalink not the blog title. Press Release Index page http://www.mindscope.com/company/news-and-press-releases/ and an individual press release http://www.mindscope.com/mindscope-cura-version-6-is-here-with-vastly-improved-recruitment-crm-capabilities/. I currently use categories to make them display where I need them. I thought I could use those in the permalinks but it wouldn’t solve the whole problem because as in the press release page there are two extensions I need before the press release title /company/news-and-press-releases/. Ultimately this all steams from my goal to improve google rankings and the user experience and I feel like having a proper site hierarchy would help.
Thanks!
Mary
Hi Andy,
I have gone in again and edited, regenerated and cleared my cache and the problem still persists. You can see a couple of the images I have been testing circled here > http://www.mindscope.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Cropping-thumdnail-images.png < I want to control how they are cropped here.
Thanks for the help Andy!
Mary
Hi Josue,
Thanks so much! It worked :)
Now how does that impact my permalinks structure? I noticed that the permalinks on the posts are still the same, without the blog name.Again, thanks for all your help!
Mary
Hi Josue
I have an index page I created for my blog, it can be seen here > http://www.mindscope.com/mindscope-recruiting-and-staffing-blog/ . I tried to set that page as the blog when I first set it up but it changes my blog layout, so I set it back to no page for the blog. Is there a way to preserve my formatting?
Thanks,
Mary
Hi Andy,
Thanks i do see these settings, unfortunately I still don’t understand how to get the thumbnails to be right. I don’t upload a specific thumbnail images, I upload a feature image which is designed for social sharing but I want to control the way WordPress crops it so it looks right in my next post slider. I unselected the crop thumbnail to exact dimensions option on the media settings page but they are still being cropped.
I don’t understand why adjusting the thumbnail on the edit media page for each image is not changing the thumbnails in the slider, can you explain?
Thank you,
Mary
Hi Josue,
It is the plugins for sure, when I disabled the permalinks plugin the problem with SEO Yoast stopped. I will not be reactivating it. Is there another plugin I can use or another way to get the permalink structure I want? Currently my blog URLs are formatted like http://www.website.com/article-title but i want http://www.website.com/blog-title/article-title
http://www.mindscope.com is the website.Thanks,
Mary
