Yes it does seem to be working now, although I haven’t done anything!
I have made you an admin just in case, but for now all seems fine.
Thank you. However, can you explain why css changes in the child theme style.css no longer seem to take effect? This is true across all my Enfold sites.
They work if you put them in Appearance > customise > additional css but it’s not easy to properly keep track of the code there.
Many thanks
LonsdaleHi
Here’s the login, below. For now I have a colour section image on the home page, but all the other pages should be showing the layerslider image as the main image below the menu.
On the main site (middlesexrugby.com) 4.4.1 works fine with the layerslider. The problem site (coaching.middlesexrugby.com) is a subdomain of the main site on the same server.
Many thanks
LonsdaleHi
I updated Enfold to version 4.4.1 to find that Layerslider no longer works. Just a blank space where the layerslider should be. I read all the comments on here and tried disabling all my plugins and enabling one by one. With WP e-member deactivated, the layerslider works fine. However, WP e-member is fundamental to my membership site. We cannot operate without it.
website: https://coaching.middlesexrugby.comIncidentally, Layerslider is running fine on another site with 4.4.1.
Please advise why so many people seem to be experiencing this problem with 4.4.1 and what I can do to resolve it.
Many thanks
LonsdaleI have tried installing completely fresh copies of both Word Press and Enfold, but still nothing works. However, I have asked my hosting company to transfer the entire site onto a different server, and that has solved the problem. So many thanks for all your patience over this.
Best regards
LonsdaleUnfortunately I can’t do that. Whilst the slider is enabled, the site is broken, and because it sometimes takes several days for your guys to get around to looking at the problem and send a response, I can’t afford to have the site broken for that amount of time.
I put the code you suggested in functions.php but that still caused breakages and error messages on pages with layersliders, even when the slider was disabled, so I had to take it out again.
Would it be possible for you to reinstate the default layerslider module by FTP when you next look at the problem, so that the site only needs to be broken for a minimum amount of time. I can give you FTP access login.
Many thanks
LonsdaleThank you. That was one of the first things I tried. Since the problems began, an updated version of the them has been released. This hasn’t solved it either.
The only alternative I can see now is to purchase another layer slider but none seem to be as good as the Code Canyon one.OK, I added it in a different place in functions.php and the built in layerslider is disabled. However, this throws the side bar and footer formatting out, as well as some of the CSS formatting.
I tried activating the standalone layerslider plugin but this made no difference. Within the standalone plug in I still cannot edit or create a new slider – when you click on a slider in the list, you just get an empty screen.
I now have to take the line of code out of the functions php again.
I have carried out these instructions, adding the code above to functions.php in the Enfold folder. I now get a blank page with the following error message:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function post_has_layerslider() in /home/middleuy/public_html/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-layerslider/config.php on line 157
I have therefore removed the code.
I purchased the Enfold theme because of the LayerSlider functions. I really need to get this working please.
Hello
Thank you. Yes I disabled it! I had to so that visitors to the site don’t get broken pages.
I deleted the layerslider from inside Enfold via FTP. Then I purchased the LayerSlider directly from CodeCanyon and uploaded it with FTP. Therefore it now appears as a plugin, but it still breaks the pages in the same way, and it is still not possible to edit any of the sliders. If you need to, you can enable it in the list of plugins.
Please try to edit a slider in the list to see that you just get a blank screen. Or try to load one of the pages from the live site that has a layer slider in it (from the footer menu: constituent body, regulations, links or privacy) Currently, with the layerslider disabled, they have no image at the top of the page. If you enable it again, you will see the problem.
I have just had a notification that there is a new version of Enfold, and I think this will update on the site automatically, so it might put the Layerslider back into the usual place.
Very many thanks for your help with this
Best regards
LonsdaleHello
Were you able to investigate my Layerslider problem? I have three other sites which use the Enfold theme, which I chose because of the brilliant layersider functionality.
I have tried buying and installing an updated LayerSlider plugin directly from CodeCanyon, but this does not work either.I really need to get this problem resolved please and would appreciate your help.
Many thanks
LonsdaleHi
as a temporary measure I have removed the layerslider from the main image of most of the main menu pages so these now display. I have also found that by removing the layerslider from the footer, the side bar now displays fully.Layersliders with only one layer seem to be OK. Multiple layers break the pages.
I still cannot edit the layersliders – I just get a blank page.
To see the problem pages, please select any sub page under the County menu.
I have provided login details as private content.
Very many thanks
LonsdaleHello
My plugins are all up to date. Enfold is the latest. But suddenly my website http://www.middlesexrugby.com produced an error message when loading.
By trial and error I have identified that the layersliders are causing the problem. Pages with no slider work perfectly. Pages with sliders only partially load (all content, part of sidebar and no footer). Pages using the main layerslider only load the header and the menu.I have restored the entire website, and then reuploaded Enfold 3.6 via FTP. No difference. I have disabled and checked every plugin. No problem there.
I can see the list of layersliders, but when I click on one to edit it, I just get a blank screen (with screen options and help tabs at the top, but they don’t even click).
Other layersider functions seem OK like transition builder and CSS editor. But the edit screen is blank.
Please can you help? I can give you admin access if you need it. I would really appreciate help – this is URGENT as nobody can access the site. I have taken the slider off the home page, so at least that works – but if you try other pages, you will see the problem.
Many thanks
LonsdaleHello
I’ve read the post about problems with Enfold and the updated version of WordPress. I have been affected by the Layerslider thing.
I have also noticed that in the page editor, none of the content shows up. Will uploading 3.5.4 fix this too?
Many thanks
LonsdaleOK – try mine. in private content below.
Hello Yigit
Unfortunately the dashboard is still showing “No Updates available. You are running the latest version! (3.0.4)”I have supplied admin login details again in the private content area, but as I do not have FTP access I can not upload the Enfold zip folder to any part of the site.
I can upload it to a different site (my own site, http://www.boomerangdesign.co.uk) – could you access it from there?
Thanks

Hello
I have tried all those plug ins but still the dashboard insists that there is no new version of Enfold. I have downloaded the latest version to my desktop but this is no good without ftp access to the site.Is it because I have only purchased Enfold once and am already using it on another website – even though I am able to generate new API keys and have tried two or three of them.
I provided wp-admin access for you on 18th April, but nobody has replied yet.
Best regards
LonsdaleThanks. I’ve added you as an administrator and have sent login details as private content. I hope you can help
Many thanks
LonsdaleHello
I cannot update manually because I cannot access the client’s server by FTP. I have to update through the Dashboard. I have tried the plug-in already and it has removed two expired transients. It says there is still one expired transient, and still it says it is running the latest version of Enfold.I used my Themeforest API key for the first website which now updates automatically. I entered this in the second website but it didn’t work. I generated a new API key and entered that, but still not working.
Is it possible you could take a look if I provide you a wp-admin login?
LonsdaleHi
It is easier to give you the URLs for the two pages in question.
There are news posts and events posts. The list of news posts displas on a standard page using the Avia layout blog posts element using the filter ‘news’ category filter. On the this page, the post date is displayed for each post. Like this… http://middlesexrugby.com/news/Event posts also appear on a standard page, using the blog post element with the filter set to ‘events’ category.
Both pages obviously use the same post list template, so the events also show the post date: http://middlesexrugby.com/events-list/
If you look at this page, you’ll see the date 23rd February below the title of the first post on the page. This is confusing as it is the date the post was made, not the date of the event itself, which should be 28th February.I hope this makes it clearer.
Thanks
