May 17, 2018 at 10:00 am in reply to: Enfold update –> "ERROR: Stylesheet is missing" message #958062Hi Yigit – I just wanted to check in you have had any luck? I’m a little anxious about this one as the site has been live for a while now and client is looking to start directing investors to it. I’ve placed the site in Coming Soon mode in the meantime.
Thanks
Thank you Mike,
I’ll definitely try the staging site out! This will really help me secure test out how any changes will impact the site. I think this thread and the new thread I opened yesterday has me shook up enough – all because of untested updates.
You may close the thread. I thank you again.

Hello all
Just an update on this thread. I reached out to the hosting company to restore an old back up of the website in the hopes that this will restore the functions. Fortunately this worked out and I’ve been able to edit the site again.
I’m really weary of performing theme updates since this (and another issue I’m having which I’ll log a separate ticket for).
The project was signed off and site owner is very happy with the outcome.
Thanks again for your hep re this :) Its much appreciated.
Hi Mike + Victoria,
**update** I spoke with the hosting provider re hosting the domain on a different server of subdomain and they advised that current the sateen on a shard server, therefore changing this aspect may not make a difference.
We then restored a back up from about a week before the recent update, which was successfully completed hit morning (South Africa time) and all the functions restored. From here I updated and added plugins and themes one-by-one, checking the Layout Builder functionality after each update. There is one more external plugin (payment gateway) that I need to install with help from the provider tomorrow morning – if this update is successful and the Layout Builder is still active then I guess we can account the issue that I had had to a “bad bug”. I’m hoping this will be the case and all will remain well.
I’ll be in touch with an update in the next couple of hours.
I thank both for your support so far!
I’ll reach out to the hosting provider to assist with this – this may be something within their scope of solution as they managed the server.
Please don’t close the ticket – I’ll keep in touch with an update regarding this.
Would a last resort call for deleting & reinstalling the theme? Would this perhaps help “reset” it?
As long as all the plugins I’ve installed are intact, I’d be able to rebuild this site as its a reasonable amount of content. Painful but possible.
I generally log in to all the sites I manage every 2nd week to update plugins & themes, therefore I would’ve updated from the most recent release prior to the latest one.
This is the only one of about 6 websites that is having this issue, unfortunately the I need to close off most urgently as the client is ready to launch.
Again – I appreciate yours and the teams assistance.
I’ve also shared backend details to the site should you need this.
I cant thank you enough Mike!
Thanks Mike,
For fear of sending you details that don’t work and respecting your time, please would you access the Cpanel & File Manager that way that I do? I’ve shared full details of this.
Hi Mike – I appreciate the active support.
I updated the theme in the WP backend where the update notifications are usually flagged. I don’t log into FTP to perform updates.
If I update the theme in FTP by deleting the theme folder will work not be lost? I’m in the final stages of building this site and would be set back quite a bit if work is lost.
I’ve given access details to cpanel which would give you access to the file manger..
Yes please you may close the chat.
Thanks Victoria,
I’ve enabled the debug mode. The layout builder is still disabled but now I see all the code that built the page.
I’m not a developer so really cant code well and need the builder. Am I doing something incorrectly?
Hi Mike,
Thanks for responding.
I’ve disabled all the plugins and checked but still have the same issue. I’ve subsequently reactivated the plugins one my one but still the same.
Is there something else I can try in order to restore editing capability?
All perfect again! Thank you Victoria!
Hi Victoria
Thank you for replying.
What you see on your attachment it not what I see :( I have followed your guidelines but no change on my side as I’m viewing on a mobile phone as opposed to tablet.
