Hey Andy and Yigit,
Something did go wrong somewhere. I ended up reinstalling wordpress and the theme. All in all everything seems to be working now.

Hi Yigit, thank you for responding so quickly.
Yes I deactivated all plugins and still doesn’t work. I also, tried deleting the theme and uploading it through FTP which resulted in many errors of failing to open files.
