No problem! – thanks for all your help to date, K

Ignore above re update – subsequently received update alert in site and updated. Re previous correspondence re adding code for debug mode and recent code addition to CSS field – do these actions remain on updating theme, or do these count as modifications to theme files? K

Thank you for above advice. Can I ask one further question in case relevant to the initial problem – I have received 2 emails recently from Envato re “Update available for Enfold”, access your account, download etc. However, on my live site, it states “No updates available. You are running the latest version (4.2)”.
So either the updates happen automatically, or I need to manually install when I receive an ‘update available’ email?? Please advise thanks, K

Thanks – I built the page in Advanced Layout Editor without the word ‘get’ and it all updates successfully (page Test250118). This is a very bizarre blip. The text including the word ‘get’ loads successfully in default editor before the text is formatted (page Test). So the fault is a combined error of wording and advanced layout editor.
I have also noticed for some time that links within pages do not appear underlined on the updated page (see last sentence on Test250118 – the words ‘Diet Dilemmas blog posts’ are linked, but this is not apparent on the updated page – please advise how to amend this. Thank you, K

No, there shouldn’t be another site or domain. An SSL certificate was applied just before I noticed the current problem so unless some error occurred on switching http to https??
Also, see communication from host in private content area, and let me know if cPanel access may be useful to you.
    Thanks, Kate

    Reinstalled WordPress 4.9.2, issue persists.
Duplicated page Test which shows unformatted ( but editable) text.
See Test250118 (duplicate) to which spacing only was added – and error remains.
    Thanks, K

Thanks – I can see your point about removing white spaces BUT when I edited the test page to make paragraphs and headings, hitting update produces the now very familiar spinning wheel error. On removing the white spaces again, the error corrects. But since I’m never going to be publishing a page without formatted headings, paragraphs and bullet points, I’m still no closer to having a website theme that I can use for basic layout/presentation purposes.
Could you advise of remaining options? Thank you, K

Further to message above – I had previously held back from adding further material to my site until this problem was resolved.
However, I added a blog post today (in Default Editor) and all went fine.
I then added a page in Default Editor (see 220118) and this too updated fine.

While updating both in stages, I got “Error while saving” messages at the bottom of the screen. However, both updated successfully.

This suggests that the error is occurring only in Advanced Layout Editor (which all the current live pages are built on) if this helps direct attention to the problem.
    Thanks, Kate

I’m not sure what you mean by removing the whitespaces, and do not know what you did previously – please clarify.

In the latest example page 200118 and 200118Duplicate, I did not use copied text. I typed it in directly – same outcome.

If you could guide me re what exact whitespaces need removed, I will try it BUT this does not address why white space errors are occurring in the first place??
    Thanks, K

in reply to: TinyMCE plugin error #900192

Yes – always the same text – exactly as provided in reply #897081. Always add text in visual mode – so no, I do not change any white spaces etc.
See most recent test pages 200118 and 200118Duplicate.
I have learnt from much test page experience to date (Always with same text) that I can add text up to the point shown in 200118. After this point, I duplicated page (200118Duplicate), added additional 1 sentence text and get the messages included in private text box below, and end result was spinning editor wheel.

This problem has been ongoing since the end of November 2017, and this thread open since 18/12/17. Many suggestions have been tested, and I appreciate them all, but am at the point where I really need some resolution so please let me know what other information may be helpful. Thank you, K

Thanks Ismael, Unfortunately the problem remains. I just tried another test page – title 170118. See screenshot at https://justpaste.it/1ftqx
No message received in private field (reference above).
Please advise re next steps. Thank you, Kate

Builder switched to debug mode as instructed above. Thanks, K

Thanks – you might find if you add headings and formatting to the text, it fails.
However, when I select edit on the page you screenshot above, I see only another spinning editor wheel – how can we be seeing 2 different things when looking at the same page?
    See screenshot at https://justpaste.it/1fpwf
Yes, happy for you to deactivate plugins, but that was suggested and tested some time ago, I still got spinning editor wheels.
    Thanks for help, Kate

Text put on pastebin (details in Private Content). No html. No difference if I type it directly onto site page or copy/paste unformatted version. As per previous communication, I can add text in small sections, save and update successfully, but consistent update failure on adding the last paragraph.
    Thanks for ongoing help.

Thanks – the issue is not specific to one page – you will see several test pages on the site with the same issue – eg 281217a / 281217b / 291217a among others. I’m aware I can successfully build a page structure as you did on your test page. The issue arises on adding text to the page. I can add and update minimal text (refer post #892469 on 02/01/2018 for more detail) but when I added a paragraph of only 224 words to your test page, I’m again left with an uneditable page / spinning editor wheel. The problem is related to adding text.

Thank you. PHP Post Max Size and PHP Max Upload Size increased. Unfortunately, the problem persists.
Please advise re next stage. Regards, Kate

    Hi,
After multiple tests on the website, the spinning editor wheel persists. See most recent test pages 281217a / 281217b / 291217a.
The following have been excluded as the cause of the problem:
NOT Internet Service Provider – error occurred using 3 different providers
NOT browser specific – error occurred on 3 different browsers
NOT PC specific – error occurred on 3 different PC’s
NOT php – error occurs after update to 7.2
NOT plugin problem – disabled ALL plugins, created test page. Successful built / update initially, ultimate error
Theme overwrite did NOT resolve problem.

If of any significance, the test pages 281217a / 281217b / 291217a all built successfully UP TO THE SAME POINT. (See test page 291217ai – this shows the extent of successful page build. Editing beyond this point (ie adding a final paragraph of text only) has mostly resulted in a perpetual spinning editor wheel, and (only occasionally) a “Connection Lost” message despite strong internet connection.

Thanks for your help to date, but unfortunately the problem persists. I would appreciate your advice re next testing stage.

Thanks – there is a migration plugin active, but the site has never been migrated so this is not the problem. The problem occurred after applying an SSL certificate, updating a few plugins and updating Enfold theme so if you are confident there is no issue with the Enfold theme (although please confirm this) then one of the other things may be the cause. Thanks for help to date and Merry Christmas!

in reply to: TinyMCE plugin error #891843

Thank you. I will consider all of the above. When you ask if the problems happened after site migration, do you mean from http to https?

in reply to: TinyMCE plugin error #891568

Hi, now running php 7.2 however editing problem persists. See page TestKM as current example of problem.

in reply to: TinyMCE plugin error #890947

Thank you. However, I have no idea how to do this. Please advise.
