It seems the home is displaying a cached version, check here for example, the fb widget shows (logged out).

You can mimic the scroll down arrow with a Icon Box or a Button, just set the link to an anchor (ex: #content_below) in the same page:

That normally happens because of a conflict with a plugin, have you tried disabling all third-party plugins before attempting to install the theme?
