Thank you, that makes sense, so you can close this one.
Regards,
JonahThank you! That worked. Another question. In Portfolio Items, I have Display Preview Images set to Image List. I also have captions for each of the Preview Images. I’m wondering if, similar to how it works in Gallery view, the caption could appear on Hover in Image List view, and/or could the caption appear below the image on the left side in the Lightbox. I realize that the second one, the caption appearing in the Lightbox, does not even happen from Gallery view, but it seems like there is space for that on the left side.
Regards,
JonahThank you! That fixed it (temporarily, as you said). I was also getting that same spacing error on my iPhone, but was able to fix it with the code you provided.
Is there a way to set it so there is only 1 column of thumbnail images on the phone, 2 columns for large phone/small tablet and 3 for tablet size screens? I like that there are 4 columns for desktop view.
Regards,
JonahHi, I tried in a Firefox private browser window and there are still gaps in the gallery grid.
Also, how can I set number of columns to 3 for large tablet, 2 for small tablet, and 1 for phone size?
How do I provide a screenshot? I don’t see any attachment button and I cannot drag the image into this window.
Thank you
OK, thank you. I just did update to Enfold 4.9.
For portfolio items in Image List view, is there a way to have the caption appear either on hover, or when clicked on in the lightbox? In the lightbox, the caption could go below the image on the left, since the number is on the right.
Regards,
JonahNo, I mean once you click into each Portfolio Item section. I would like to see the caption for each portfolio preview image. Right now, those are set up as an Image List.
This solves my issue, so you can close it, thanks.
Perfect, that should work. Thank you!
Thank you for your response. Where would that certain id or class go in the dashboard? Ultimately that’s where I would be editing captions.
I see there is a space for a caption in the Edit Gallery page. I would like to be able to put a caption there, and have it show up as a caption in the lightbox. This would seem like an easy way to get captions onto the images that I want to have captions, and for the images I don’t want captions, I would just leave the caption area blank. How can that happen?
If the only way to get captions is with the Title field in Attachment Details, can I delete the titles of images where I don’t want their title to show up as captions? I’m wondering if I delete this, will it negatively affect the image?
Thank you! That did it. It looks like I had display set to none in the Additional CSS.
I am in Edit Portfolio Entry, then I added preview images in the Add Preview Images section, from there I clicked on the image, and that took me to Edit Gallery page. On that page, the caption text is in the caption area of the image, in the Title and Alt Text of Attachment Details. My question is how to get the captions to show up. I would be happy to share screenshots if necessary.
Thank you for your response. The caption still did not show up in the lightbox. Is there something I need to turn on to make the title field show up as a caption in the lightbox?
Where it says Edit Gallery in the Preview Images section, there is a space below each image for a caption. That is where I added the captions. Should I add it somewhere else? No caption is showing up when I click on the image to open the lightbox.
I was wondering if there was a close button once you click into a portfolio item to show all of that section’s images on options that are not AJAX. After looking through the other options, it looks like there is not a close button on the other portfolio grid options, so I will stick with the AJAX option. Thank you!
Hi again,
I just realized that I don’t need to repeat the featured image in the Preview images area. So no more questions from me for right now!Hey again,
I just realized that the thumbnail image comes from the Featured Image in the Portfolio Item page. Now I’m wondering if there’s a way to not repeat the thumbnail image once it is selected, and it goes to the image gallery or slideshow or list?
Hey,
I’m actually building it locally for now, so there isn’t a way I can share a link. Can I share a screenshot? I’ll just explain as best I can. In the portfolio grid on the portfolio page, there are only narrow boxes with the title of the portfolio items, and no thumbnail. In the Portfolio Item, I have added a number of preview images, including a small thumbnail image (450px x 335px), similar to what I did with the Angular theme. In the Portfolio Grid settings, for Portfolio Grid Image Size, I selected Choose the Portfolio Grid Size manually, and for Select Custom Image Size, I chose No Scaling. For Link Handling, I chose AJAX. Any ideas why the thumbnail isn’t showing up? Also, I was able to figure out the subnav issue.
