Please provide a screenshot of the effect. Also, please provide admin info so I can look into this further. The above code should have hidden the fields, not change the color.

This works because if its done then we can target the custom id/class and hide it via media queries. There may be a bug or conflict as to why the built-in function is not performing on your specific site. Until a reason is found and an update is made, then the solution would be through css.

No problem at all, I prefer the same. However, I may have a solution for you if you aren’t able to view the links on mobile. Please add the following to quick css:
