Thank you for showing me what the .dmci would look like – that is helpful. Certainly the css-tricks page will be helpful too.
Until next time.. lol
Jason
Yep that is it! Thank you. I was able to make the adjustment I wanted.
For my own learning, is there a reason in this case why we would use menu-item-4085 instead of my custom css class = .dmci
What would that code look like? I tried replacing #menu-item-4085 with .dmci but that didn’t work. Just curious.
Thanks again!
JasonI may have spoken too soon. lol
There is one menu item that I want to modify independently. It is the ‘Download my contact info’. It is just a little too long for the space. If I could reduce the font size or font spacing would probably do the trick. I have assigned that menu item a custom css class = dmciThen in Appearance / customizing / custom css
This is my css..dmci {
font-size: 20px;
}I see no change.
I must be missing something. lolAhhh thank you. I have never used the advanced styling tab. I was able to make the global adjustment I was looking for and I also remembered how to make custom css available for menu items. I have one menu item that needs to be a couple points smaller than the others.
All good!Yes, we can close this thread. I’m sure there will be more questions later. lol
Ahhhhh got it. Thank you.
Nevermind. I figured out my background image on my own.
I guess this means I don’t know how to attach a picture into our conversation. lol
Could you show me, please.
Jason
Hey Mike,
We have some good progress. I changed the text padding-left from pixel to percentage. Now no matter how I change the shape of the page the text keeps the creative indentation I want. Thank you for showing me that. I also added some line breaks to the end of my text to allow the background image more room to show.
Still struggling with the background image. Your test page looked like this..
/Users/j-birdteching/Desktop/Contact-test-desktop.jpgThis is what I am hoping to achieve.
/Users/j-birdteching/Desktop/Jkos-contact.jpg
I know some people like a more vertical window and some like a more horizontal window so, fit, distort, stretch, fill, whatever you call it, I would like to always see the entire background image. The image is abstract enough to be able to handle considerable distortion.
/Users/j-birdteching/Desktop/contact-vert.jpg/Users/j-birdteching/Desktop/contact-horizontal.jpg
The next challenge is getting this page to look good on a phone. Is having a separate contact page just for phones something we should be considering?
Doing the left margin by percentage did work for the phone but, I think having 50-60% margin padding on a phone is unrealistic.
The font would have to be a micro font. lol
/Users/j-birdteching/Desktop/contact-phone-2.jpgThe test page you made looks like this on my phone. I could live without the text having the creative indentation and just being uniformly left, right or center justified but, the page didn’t scroll down to see the rest of the text.
/Users/j-birdteching/Desktop/test-contact-phone.jpgWe’ll see what the background image looks like on the phone after we make adjustments to the desktop.
Thank you,
JasonIt works!! You’re amazing!! I have already been able to do my stylings using both the .menu-column-title-# and the custom CSS class.
Thank you so much for your time, effort and knowhow.
JasonThanks Mike! I like where this is going but, doesn’t seem to be working just yet.
I don’t see a change in the Customizing preview. I don’t see a change when I publish, delete cache, refresh page on iPhone.In the menus page I have given item Erosion Stories of Paria Canyon the custom CSS class = gal
This is the CSS entered:
#av-burger-menu-ul .gal a {
color: blue !important;
}
I have also tried:
#top #wrap_all #header #av-burger-menu-ul .gal a {
color: blue !important;
}Something is a miss. lol
Hi Rikard,
I would like to be able to style the Blue zone, Green zone & Orange zone independently. As you can see in the picture my blue & bold to the Green zone is also affecting the Orange zone. (I have since removed that styling)
In finer detail is it possible to style one specific line within one specific zone. Notice the thin pink zones. “Land Speak of the John Muir Trail” in the Green zone may need slightly different styling than “Giants in the Gulch” which is also in the Green zone. Also, “Land Speak of the JMT – Statement” in the Orange zone could use slightly different styling than any of the other lines in the Orange zone.
The site is technically live but, unsearchable, the URL is not published anywhere and no one knows of the site. Feel free to tinker at will. lol
Thank you for your time!
JasonHi Ismael,
You guessed it! The Lightbox Modal Window option was off.
Thank you! :)
J
Got it. Thank you.
Thank you. Sounds like more trouble than it is worth. lol
Then end.
I am in the Theme Options > Advanced Styling.. but I do not see a Link Settings toggle.
The image that I want to link to a video is in a gallery in my main section.
I see options for HTML, Headings, Main Menu, Cookie Consent Bar, and lastly is Mis. and none of those are “Link Settings”
Yes, hopefully that is all the adjustments I will need for a while. Thank you again!
Jason
Ha!!! I figured out the dropdown menus in the Advanced Styling shortly after I responded. LOL!!
Your code for the hover over links worked! Thank you!
Your code for the three images on the second page mobile worked as well. Thank you! Thank you!
Not sure what the third section of code is for? It’s all working. I don’t want to wreck anything. LOL!!
What does this third section of code do for me?Thanks for getting me to where I wanted to be. :)
JasonThanks Mike, I don’t mind the linked image overlay but, I do find it strange that my Enfold theme options > Advanced Styling doesn’t look like your image. Mine does not have the Linked Image Overlay. Strange….
The code for removing titles on mouse-over worked. Thank you!
The four links at the bottom of page two don’t change color with mouse-over. I feel like I have that set to turn blue but, something is a miss. lol
Also still need help with the three images on page two. The desktop looks great but, the mobile version has micro thumbnails. lol
Would be great if we could get that to look like the desktop, please.Thank you!
JasonMaking great progress!! Thank you for the grid element suggestion. That is working out well.
Just a couple more things to dial in, please.
In the desktop version, is it possible to have the titles NOT show up when hovering over an image?
Can I reduce the gap top & bottom on the row of three images?
(second page, portfolio item – Digital tech in Phoenix Arizona for professional still photography)Lastly, the images on the mobile landing page are vertical and I think that looks awesome!
But when you click the bird to the next page… The row of three images look like micro thumbnails. LOL!!!
Can we get that page to look like desktop page?Home/landing page is portfolio item: Phoenix digital tech
The second page with three images is portfolio item: Digital tech in Phoenix Arizona for professional still photographyThanks again!
I’ll give the advanced editor a try.

OOPs!! I changed those names last night. So sorry..
The two portfolio items I need this issue corrected in are:
Digital Tech Phoenix Arizona
Digital Tech in Phoenix Arizona for Professional photography.Not sure if two part questions are frowned upon but, I will also need to get my site to look the same on a mobile device. I am currently using an iPhone 13. The block adjustments in WP don’t look like the published version on my phone. Thank you for your assistance. :)
Hi Mike, Yes, that fixed the all caps issue but, I am finding that H1, H2 & H3 are not responding to the block edits for font size or letter spacing. I currently have them exaggerated so I know when they are working. I am working on: Portfolio Items / Digital tech capture contact.
Jason
VICTORY!!! Thank you!
I created a guest login.
Once you are in..
Portfolio Items / Digital tech capture ContactNotice how the welcome line looks..
Now generate a preview in a new tab.
That welcome line looks very different.Thanks for your help!
If I knew how to attach a couple screen captures I could show you.
No change. I am noticing the issue the most in the typography section. I have noticed the font size & letter spacing do not match the generate in a new tab preview. Appearance is working fine.
