Image isn’t loading, but sounds like a plan. I checked on two computers now and both cutoff the logo in IE8.
Thanks – look forward to hearing what Josue sees.
Hi Yigit, my girlfriend just checked at work and the logo is still cutoff on the bottom. This is weird!
Also, I’m using the latest version of WP, just upgraded.
That was the only computer I have available at the moment. I’m actually on a mac but I use browserstack.com for testing. I’ll have someone else check for me and will get back if any problems. Thanks so much.
I feel I may have unnecessary code now as I might have duplicated things during this thread. From the below code that I now have in custom.css – does it all need to be there or should I remove some part of it?
.logo img { min-height: 58px !important; height: auto} .logo > a { max-height: 58px !important; } .logo img, .logo a { max-height: 58px !important; }Sorry for being such a pain Yigit, but unfortunately still not working for me =(
This is what i get http://imgur.com/SRHxV5a
That’s very weird then, the kitchen sink wasn’t showing at all until I added the Ultimate TinyMCE plugin. Why would it have been hidden?
I just want the default blog post text to be as is currently on that post. But I don’t want to have to adjust with TinyMCE every time I publish a new post. Ideally I wouldn’t even use that plugin.
Why wasn’t the kitchen sink button showing? And what’s the recommended way to change font size for posts?
Thanks!
This reply has been marked as private.Hi – just wanted to make sure this was seen.
The “kitchen sink” button does not show up in the enfold blog post drafting page. Is this by design? Also, what’s the best way to change the default font style for blog posts?
Many thanks,
JonathanStill doesn’t work unfortunately. Does it matter whether it’s in quick css or custom.css? I put into custom as I prefer to put all my custom css in there.
As of now this is what I have in my custom css based on your suggestions:
.logo img { min-height: 58px !important; height: auto} .logo > a { max-height: 58px!important; } .logo img, .logo a { max-height: 58px !important; }Thanks for your continued help!
Just wondering if there was another fix here? Thanks!
I couldn’t find “.isotope, .isotope-item, .inner-entry, .ajax_slide{” section mentioned by the second to last commenter but I followed the directions given by Kriesi earlier in the post and that didn’t help.
I have an iPhone 5. Also, the issue is only apparent on the blog post and nowhere else on the site.
Thanks for looking into this.
Best,
JonathanSpecifically, the kitchen sink button does not show up in the toolbar.
Thanks Yigit, unfortunately this didn’t work. Seems to be a different issue as I am only having the problem on iPhone.
Hi Ismael,
I already had that in without the “height: auto;”, so I added that in in case it made a difference but it is still cutoff in IE8. Any other suggestions?
Many thanks,
JonathanOk, thanks so much for the help.
Brilliant, thanks! How come child(6) affected two places though? Shouldn’t there only be one 6th instance in the page? Is it something wrong with my site?
Thanks Josue, it wasn’t that one that was affected – I commented out the nth-child(6) under “@media only screen and (max-width: 480px)” and that made it look more in line but not perfect. The problem is that this code also affects the testimonials and removed the padding I had after the testimonials. How come this affects both locations? Shouldn’t it only affect one?
Many thanks,
JonathanDidn’t work unfortunately. Also, any idea why this was caused? I didn’t have any problem with it before moving the 3 paragraphs to the new colour section.
Thanks very much!
Is there a way to minimize the number of scripts being run? It seems that all the speedtests I’m doing (including googles) are recommending that I minimize scripts. I thought removing the slider would do it but it didn’t.
Thanks for the help guys, but I am thinking I’ll just stick to the slider as no other option seems to be as fluid when resizing windows as the slider is. Also, I removed the slider and then did a load test and the results were still showing heavy scripts being loaded above the fold – I thought removing the slider would remove that but it didn’t. Where are these other scripts coming from? I thought the slider was the only above the fold script I had.
Best,
JonathanThanks Ismael – is there a way to just ensure the section is as tall as the image whatever the height is? So it automates and shrinks as the window is made smaller?
Sounds great, thanks for the help! You guys are awesome.
I added that option to the test page.
Kriesi’s suggestion of the colour section with background image looks the best of the 3 options, but at large screen sizes cuts off the image. Is there any way to force the section to be the same height as the image (even as it resizes)? If there is a way then I think that could work well.
Hi guys,
Unfortunately that didn’t help. Currently live on that page.
It still has the whitespace when screensize is narrower than the image. Also, is there any way to remove the rounded corners of the image? There is a white dot in each of the corners as is.
Sorry for the trouble – and thank you for helping me find a way to fix this!
As mentioned, my ideal solution behaves exactly the same as the easy slider with one image, but without needing to run such a large script to accomplish it.
Thank you!
Best,
JonathanYes, I believe it’s in custom css for both containers (test1 and test2).
I love the way the easy slider looks but it slows down loading of the site too much if I’m just using the one image and if there is a better option…
Is there any downside to overriding the stretch with this code so it works in IE8? Will it not work as well as the default stretch in newer browsers?
Nevermind! I didn’t add the section class (was confused with the section ID). It works!!! Thank you =)
Issues I’m still having are that:
– neither perform as well as the slider on my home page at smaller sizes
– the image in the txt box takes time to load and has the not yet loaded box while it does
– the image in the image element has white pixels at each corner to the rightIs there a way to accomplish this, looking as nice as the easy slider, but without the script?
Many thanks,
Jonathan -
