Nevermind! you can close this thread. For some reason custom.css wasn’t saved with the update, so after uploading a backup of it everything is fine. Not sure if you want to log that as an issue to fix but this workaround solved it for me.

    Thanks!

Nevermind! This was the same issue as:
    https://kriesi.at/support/topic/images-in-gallery-not-arranged-correcty/

If you guys figure out what the issue was and fix on your end please let me know so I can switch my galleries back to their previous sizes. Thanks!

in reply to: Background image issues post 4.5 update #1040149

Thank you Nikko. It was the “or some other attributes” part I didn’t understand. I took a look at the shortcode after fixing via deleting/readding the background image and it looks like it regains that missing attribute as well as others. I think those are the attributes you are referring to (attributes added/needed by the latest version I assume). If that’s the case and nothing else I should do to fix other than delete/readd the images then I think everything should be ok now. You can go ahead and close this thread if you agree. Thank you for all your time!

    All the best,

Hi Nikko, just following up on the above to make sure before we close this thread – you mentioned some other elements missing? What were these, so I can make sure my site post-update is the same as it was before? Everything other than the backgrounds visually seems to be ok so just making sure I understood what you were referring to. Thank you!

in reply to: Background image issues post 4.5 update #1038663

Thank you Nikko, I appreciate the time you spent! I updated a few times and this kept happening so probably something with the update – maybe good for you guys to log in case something to fix for future updates as must be happening to others too?

Also, you said you noticed a few other things missing? Is there anything else I need to fix that I may not be seeing easily but that you saw via debug that was changed?

    Many thanks,
    Jonathan

in reply to: Background image issues post 4.5 update #1037824

    Hi Nikko,

Yes it’s weird as we’ve never had this update issue before. What you saw on staging was a fresh clone of our live site pre-update and then I updated via ftp.

I’ve gone ahead and created a fresh pre-update install for you to take a look at, please see url and credentials in private section. I just removed enfold credentials from the dashboard in case it would conflict with the new token I inputted on my live site (so you won’t see an update prompt), but you’ll see 4.4.1 is the version currently active on this install.

You can go ahead and update via ftp and see what happens. You’ll see that even if overwriting our custom.css (so the issue you pointed out with the grey background image shouldn’t apply), the image backgrounds in both types of sections disappear and revert to just solid grey and black respectively. Even though after update the images are still showing in the dashboard UI settings modals they do not show on the front end unless each one is deleted/re-added individually.

Again, if you don’t know why this happened I have been able to work around it but it does take a lot of time so in case this happens again on the next update or if someone else has the same issue it would be great to log a better fix here. Don’t spend too much time though as I know you must be very busy.

    Thanks so much!

    Jonathan

in reply to: Background image issues post 4.5 update #1037532

Thank you Nikko. I did try updating via FTP as well and this issue still occurred. For some reason any update to 4.5 basically “deletes” the background images. They still show in the backend but don’t show in the front end unless they are deleted and readded.

Any other idea why it might have occurred?

    Many thanks,
    Jonathan

in reply to: Updating from 4.4.1 – Ok to update from dashboard? #1037528

No worries, Nikko. And thanks so much. I wanted to update the site this past weekend so I took the time and went through all background elements and removed/readded them. That seemed to solve the issue – it took a bunch of time but it seems ok now.

I left the issue live on staging to see if you know why those didn’t retain properly with the update in case an easier/quicker way I should know how to fix for future updates or in case something for you guys to fix in the theme. Please do take a look and let me know in that thread either way! Thank you and you can close this thread.

in reply to: Updating from 4.4.1 – Ok to update from dashboard? #1036855

    Hi Nikko,

Thank you, it’s good to know those are supposed to work well. The reason I was wondering if the dashboard would work or be better is because I’m having issues with the update and since it’s my first time not updating via the dashboard I wasn’t sure if that was the reason. You can see the issue I’m having, link in private content section. It hasn’t been replied to yet so maybe you can see if you know what’s happening?

Thank you for taking a look! If that’s an expected issue with this update or if there isn’t another workaround I have a fix, it’s just a pain to go through every content section and also a bit unnerving to have happen and not know the reason as not sure what else may be wrong that I’m not seeing.

    Thank you,
    Jonathan

in reply to: Background image issues post 4.5 update #1036820

Hi guys, just an update – this is fixed by going to each content section and removing/re-attaching each background image. Is this a known issue with this upgrade? Is there a quicker way to fix this than to go through the entire site section by section? Thank you for your time as always!

in reply to: Updating from 4.4.1 – Ok to update from dashboard? #1036780

Hi Nikko, oh ok thank you. Regarding updating via the plugin method provided or via ftp, does it matter which one we use or both will work the same and will retain all settings, etc?

in reply to: Updating from 4.4.1 – Ok to update from dashboard? #1036741

Hi Nikko! Thanks but I think there was a misunderstanding. Sorry my question was regarding the latest update instructions to 4.5 it says not to use the dashboard. My question was is it at all possible to do through the dashboard still or not for this version? I see the update prompt so was wondering if it’s ok to try or if this can cause issues, or if it just doesn’t work at all.

I ended up setting up a staging site and trying but I just couldn’t get it to download so I’m assuming it just won’t work that way and that’s why we need to do the other ways though. Please let me know if that’s not correct, otherwise you can close this thread. Thanks!

in reply to: Issues combining javascript #960653

    Hi Rikard,

Sounds good and no worries, I’ll leave it off for now. The other features (css combining and only loading used elements) are working perfectly.

In case it helps on your end, js seems to be working on my staging site but not on our production site. Our host uses their own proprietary caching and I think that being enabled is the only difference between production/staging environments.

I’ll try again on a future version.

    Have a great night!

    Jonathan

in reply to: Sitemap image URLs for CDN #885203

    Hi Ismael,

Thank you very much. That seems to have worked! So just to confirm that it was right for me to have added in “$images, $post_id” between the brackets and that I implemented this all correctly so it doesn’t negatively affect anything elsewhere – all I did was added the below code (based on our discussions above) into functions.php via a script management plugin. If that is what you intended and the below code looks good then please confirm and you can go ahead and mark this resolved. Thank you so much :)

in reply to: Sitemap image URLs for CDN #884756

    Hi Ismael,

Thank you for your time on this. The script didn’t seem to work so I compared to the original config.php file and noticed that it included “$images, $post_id” in the brackets after the old function name. I added those in after the new function name in our code and it seems to be doing something now but for some reason it’s only changing some of the urls but not all, and it also changes the structure of the sitemap, which then doesn’t match what’s on the page. Please see full code I added to functions.php (with urls changed) below, and links to the sitemaps for your reference in the private section. Do you have any idea why this isn’t performing the same thing as adding the modification directly to config.php as discussed earlier? If this is too much trouble just let me know and I’ll maintain as a direct modification to the theme files, but if you can easily see why this isn’t working that is ideal so that this is future-proof for any theme updates.

When you said I need to disable the current filter, were you referring to what the code does or is there a step I missed? I may have misunderstood your instructions so please check the below to make sure correct. Thank you!

in reply to: Sitemap image URLs for CDN #884174

    Hi Ismael,

That worked! Thank you so much. It seems like I need to use the code Yoast provides still to alter the post sitemap image urls, and the code you provided alters the page sitemap image urls. Oh and to answer your question why I want to change these it’s because with a cdn google doesn’t index the images correctly if the urls aren’t changed in the sitemap to point to the cdn which is where the html in the page is referencing. So very important to be able to do, and thank you :)

Two final questions if you don’t mind:

    1) Does the code you provided only alter the image urls in the page sitemap, or is there an impact anywhere else I should be aware of?
    2) Is there a script I can add to functions.php that will have the same effect of what you provided above? The reason I ask is because I manage my functions.php scripts in a plugin so that they aren’t overwritten on theme updates. It would be nice to be able to affect this change through there if possible.

Thank you again. You guys are seriously amazing.

    Jonathan

in reply to: Sitemap image URLs for CDN #883719

    Hi Ismael,

Thank you. Sorry, I don’t understand your question – can you please explain? I was just using the code suggested by Yoast to change the image URLs shown in the page and post sitemaps to point to the cdn urls. Is this what your suggested code will do?

Also, if you don’t mind can you please edit your code above to just show generic urls. I prefer that this thread doesn’t show up if people google our URL :)

    Thank you,
    Jonathan

Hi team, I’m very confused – Mike gave solution which unfortunately just didn’t work and then Basilis said you can’t help. I’m a long time user and supporter of Enfold and I truly believe this is a theme issue. Also, since it’s not unique to me as it will affect all users of enfold and Yoast I believe it is in your best interest to help with a solution as well. Can you please revisit this and discuss internally and hopefully point me to a solution?

    Thank you for your consideration.

in reply to: Sitemap image URLs for CDN #883223

Hi guys, just following up on this. Thank you very much in advance as I know may take a bit of your time but I think it’s important we have a solution here for all users to benefit from when needed.

    Thank you!

in reply to: Sitemap image URLs for CDN #882408

    Hi Basilis,

Thank you for your time. I believe this should be covered by support as it’s clearly an issue with the way the theme is handling image urls. My first thought was Yoast support, which I went to, but since it’s a matter of the way Enfold handles images I am hoping your team can tell me what to do. Thank you for understanding.

Are you sure this would require extensive work and not just a tweak to the code provided by Mike? Please let me know as if just a script I need to add to functions.php then this is something I can do with your guidance. Also, since not something unique to me, this is something that all theme users will benefit from so I am hoping you can take the time to instruct me.

    Thank you,
    Jonathan

    Perfect, thank you!

in reply to: enfold.css mixed content issue #882397

    Thank you Basilis,

Please keep this open as I will be in touch if I narrow the issue down. For the time being though everything seems fine as long as we exclude .css and .js from the cdn for some reason. I’m not sure why this is.

I’ll be in touch if needed, and either way I will update this in the future if resolved.

    Many thanks,
    Jonathan

in reply to: Sitemap image URLs for CDN #882069

    Hi Mike,

Thank you for looking into this! Unfortunately that doesn’t seem to have done the trick. Do you know why it might not be working? Please feel free to go into the staging site and try this out, it’s currently implemented how you’ve said but the page sitemap urls didn’t change, except for the one test page that’s not using avia elements.

Login info in the private section below.

    Thank you so much.

in reply to: enfold.css mixed content issue #882067

    Hi Victoria,

I’ll keep you posted but even if it is the cdn it may be the way it’s pulling the theme files. As far as I can tell there are no http links in my database.

Do you have any reason to believe there is an issue with how enfold works with https and/or cdn setups though that could be causing this? Any reason .js and .css may be called sometimes as non-secure content?

It would be ideal to be able to re-enable css and js files to the cdn.

    Thank you,
    Jonathan

in reply to: enfold.css mixed content issue #881365

    Hi Victoria,

There is a chance this is an issue with how my cdn provider is pulling from the theme, as I’ve excluded .css and .js from the cdn and that (at least for now) fixed the issue. I’ll keep an eye on it and will let you know if it re-occurs. I will also update with the findings by my cdn provider.

My install is just a regular enfold install, only css changes with custom.css, but nothing else. So perhaps you can inspect on your install first before needing to go into mine. It is a live business website so I prefer not to give out access unless/until necessary. Thank you for understanding. Please let me know, thanks!

    Thank you for your time.
