excellent. That worked. I added css styling to it:
$description = get_post_field('post_content', get_post_thumbnail_id()); echo '<div class="featured-caption">' .$description.'</div>';
Is that correct?
OK, I updated the theme but I still don’t see that line in the loop-page.php file??
that text doesn’t exist in my loop-page.php file?

OK, just figured it out. I deactivated the “Websafe fonts fallback for Windows” and now it works. WHEW!!!
that didn’t work either. here’s what he said:
“Turned on Clear Type text and cleared history from browsers Did not help still seeing same as before for icons”
Internet explorer version 10.0.9200.166OIS
Firefox version 23.0.1
Whatever is out of the box for both of them – no special extensions.
I had three people looking at it – all on pc’s with Windows 7. It works perfect on my mac. :)
I had them do a screen grab for me on what they see. Here it is: http://www.jennifercreative.com/download/enfold-icons.jpg
How can I fix this??
