Odd, as I had disabled the plugin and not seen any improvements. It was one of the first things I tried, kind of WordPress 101. Anyhow, you were correct, though for some odd reason I had to disable and re-enable the optimizer again once I made an update to the site. That said it’s back to rock solid, and after 6’ish years using Enfold, I still believe it to be one of the absolute best themes available… and the support is second to none.
Thank you Rikard for helping me resolve the issue and in such short order as well.
I tried that first with no luck. I can work around it with actual images if I have to, just odd how the top bar works and the footer no longer does. Any other ideas are more than welcome before I have to rework it. Thank you once again, truly.
So that worked to a degree. Now up to 4.7.3 but still no icons in the footer. The site is newwavetaxidermy.com. Once again I appreciate any advice or insight you can provide.
My theme says it’s up to date with version 4.5.3. Please excuse my ignorance here, but how do I update to 4.71? My social icons in the footer have vanished, though they remain in the top bar…

If you fetch it Google absolutely recognizes the multiple headers. I was able to work around it all with some creative CSS but why even have the feature? It’s a bit misleading to think that’s the recommendation. Would love to hear some more input on this.
