Gday all
I found that when I used the code supplied by Ismael, the parent click did actually open the parent page (while simultaneously revealing the submenu on same click).
I’d like the click to disable the parent page from opening, so only the submenu items can be revealed and chosen.
Does anyone know an additional line to achieve that? That is, to disable the parent page from opening? I tried using a ‘Link’ with # for the url but then the click didn’t reveal the submenu.
Thanks for any help you are able to give me.
cheers

Excellent, that’s great to know Josue, that might be a better option for this client.
much appreciated
Darryl
OK, thanks for your detail of how to do that Elliot, much appreciated.
Thanks Elliot, I’ll try that. Is it better to upload via theme zip upload, or via ftp…any difference?
cheers
Darryl
I should add, it was upon trying to activate the theme via Appearances/Theme. And also, now I can’t access the site anymore, the fatal error appears.
Thanks Yigit and Elliot (strangely Elliot’s comment isn’t appearing here). I tried all your suggestions and didn’t change, so I resized the image and resaved it, and it did work. Some strange type of corruption perhaps? that would not display in Mac Firefox but did in other platforms and browsers. Very strange, and I appreciate your help looking into this.

Hmmm…seems to be a browser issue. I’m on a Mac and I can see the content in Safari, but not Firefox. Disabling styles does not make it visible either.
Thanks so much Elliot, that worked…much appreciated.

DarrylThank you Ismael, I assume this adds the font as a choice in the theme options font lists. Much appreciated to you both.

Hi Josue
I have a problem that started when you disabled the Black Studio TinyMCE Widget—the footer widget content disappeared and became the default theme content (interesting links, etc).
Reinstating the plugin doesn’t bring the content back. Do you know a way I an get it back?
cheers
Darryl
Fantastic, this is great as I will reduce my plugins by 1…much appreciated Tung Do.
Hi Tung Do,
I tried Option 1 and receive an error:
Warning: call_user_func_array() expects parameter 1 to be a valid callback, function ‘enfold_child_load_google_fonts’ not found or invalid function name in /home/integral/public_html/wp-includes/plugin.php on line 505
I’m not a php coder so am not sure what it means nor what to do…do you recognise this code and know how to fix it?
cheers
Darryl
Thanks for your detailed response Tung Do, I’d recognised that the child theme functions.php method would suit best so I am keen to try the first option you have shown. I really appreciate your helpfulnes here, thank you.

October 29, 2014 at 5:01 am in reply to: Reducing the block area of main navigation height (header logo left, menu right) #342547Fantastic Ismael, that worked perfectly, and will really help me to create more differentiation in the header areas…much appreciated.

Gday Josue. I had deleted that page, and upon reading your suggestion I remade the gallery, but this time it has worked. I must have made a mistake somewhere prior, my apologies. Thanks for your generosity with your help, much appreciated.

Darryl
Thanks for pointing that out Josue, I used the method at the example you provided and it worked well…thank you, much appreciated.

Thanks for your help Ismael, I love that custom css functionality.
Is it possible that it only works on some elements and not all? I tried it and have it working on certain elements, but I can’t get it to work on a masonry gallery element. The field is there of course, and I have filled it with standard characters, but not coming through in the source.

One more note: my design is responsive, so setting the .av-layout-grid-container to a width with margins 0 auto kind of works, but will be cumbersome to manage all device sizes.
October 22, 2014 at 10:10 pm in reply to: Term 'Search' beside icon, doesn't activate search popup #339770This reply has been marked as private. This reply has been marked as private.Hi guys
I noticed it is the main menu ul that has a new name, and so my CSS colours werebn’t being referenced…changed the name in the CSS and all good. Regarding the logo, I had a height of auto on the logo in my CSS that ensured the logo height was correct, but with this upgrade it made the logo disappear (visually)…removing that CSS altogether allowed it to reappear.

Gday Josue
I had the same problem, followed the upgrade, but then the header divs are named differently? and so changes my CSS design….and the logo disappeared entirely…is this expected?
cheers
Darryl
Brilliant, thanks somuch for your help with that Josue, much appreciated.

DarrylThanks Josue…OK, well it doesn’t have 2.8.1, maybe that’s the problem: http://itchybrain.com.au/mfs/
Sorry, but I won’t be able to update that today, juggling lots, but thanks again for your help Josue.

DarrylGday Josue, it worked for me when the nav was to the side of the logo, but not in a website where the nav was underneath the logo.
I can scout around and find out the css file to check…thanks for your help Josue.
cheers
Darryl
Also Josue, when I use a different menu, such as the one beneath the logo, or above, etc, I would like to invoke the same effect.
Could you point out which file has the CSS for those? and I can gather it for the Quick CSS as required.
Thanks again Josue, this will greatly improve my sites, almost every client puts too many navigation items together!
cheers
Darryl
You ripper :) thanks so much Josue, that’s perfect…thanks for your attention, very much appreciated.

Gday Ismael
I do have a good sense of that as another option now. However, I would prefer to understand more of what triggers the menu to disappear and be replaced. There are instances where this will be more useful. Is it done with javascript, and can I modify that to switch at a different breakpoint?
Thanks for your help with this.
cheers
