Many thanks for the reply. I just updated to version 3.5.3 (via FTP) then removed the snippet and that fixed it!

Hello Elliott,
I’ve got the same problem. On a new post, the comments box doesn’t appear. Under Settings > Discussion, the “Allow people to post comments on new articles” is checked. On the post itself, under Discussion, “Allow comments.” is checked. You can see the post here:
http://www.americanartistinrome.com/news/2015/10/27/painting-en-plein-air-with-julian-merrow-smith/You can see an older post with the exact same discussion settings here:
http://www.americanartistinrome.com/all-paintings/2015/08/07/portrait-of-saga-alla-prima/That said, I think I might know what causes the bug: the new post–the one without the comments option–uses the Avia Layout Builder, while the previous posts do not. Please advise.
Thank you,
Tim
July 24, 2015 at 12:03 am in reply to: Adapting Nav Text from Transparent Background to White Background #478013Dear All,
I found the answer!
Enfold Theme Options > Header > Transparency Options then, under Transparency Logo, set the Transparency menu color.
Cheers,
TimDear Elliott,
Many thanks for your reply. I think you’re right. Question: how do I set the background image of the header? I looked through the documentation and watched the header video, but didn’t see where I could manipulate the header background. I’m sure I’m looking in the wrong place. Can you point me in the right direction?
Thank you.

TimThank you, Elliot! That was what I needed to know to fix it.

Hi Ismael,
Thank you for taking a look. Here is a screencast to show you what I see:

Yes, let’s see what Yigit says.
Cheers,
Tim
PS The topic was closed before I could reply, but the simple image sizes plugin you recommended here worked great. Many thanks!
I think this you can mark this as solved. (I would do it for you, but I don’t see that option at my end.)

Tim
October 8, 2014 at 8:54 pm in reply to: How to maintain aspect ratio for big preview (featured image) on blog #332708Hi Yigit,
If I’m using the Enfold child theme, can I add that line of code to the child functions.php file, i.e., will that code overwrite the main theme’s code? Or, in this case, do I have to edit the Enfold theme’s function file directly?
Please advise.
Cheers,
Tim
Yigit,
That fixed it! Many, many thanks!

Dear Josue,
Many thanks for taking a look and for showing me your screencast.
Here is what I see:

Ideas?

Jonathan,
It seems like it is the same problem. I would suggest using a child theme. Enfold has one ready-built. That’s what I’m using. Are you familiar with how to use a child theme? It basically means that whenever there is an update to the main Enfold theme, none of your customizations get over-written. I’m happy to help you further if needed.

Tim
October 6, 2014 at 10:57 pm in reply to: How to maintain aspect ratio for big preview (featured image) on blog #331208I’d like to know the same, please. Many thanks to the support team for the help.
Dear Yigit,
Looks like I’ve got the same thing here:
http://www.americanartistinrome.com/dev/category/self-portraits/
Apologies, but I’m not sure which and how many selectors I should be targeting. Can you help?
Thanks again.

Dear Yigit,

Hello Jonathan,
I think we are having the same problem:
https://kriesi.at/support/topic/show-captions-in-a-wordpress-gallery/
Are you after the same thing? I’m still waiting for an answer.
Cheers,
Tim
Dear Ismael and all at Kriesi:
Could you provide a follow-up response to this? Knowing whether or not I will be able to do this could greatly affect I set up this website. And, as a website that is dealing exclusively with images, it’s rather important.
Thank you for your time and assistance.
Tim
Hi Ismael,
I’d like to keep the title separate from the caption. Would it be possible for you to show me how to tweak the code to make this possible? I see that a thread was started on this very topic last year:
https://kriesi.at/support/topic/add-caption-to-gallery-lightbox/
…But, it would appear that no solution was ever provided, even though moderator “Dude” suggested in May of 2013 that a fix was on the way in an upcoming update.
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Tim
Hello Ismael,
You can see here that I’ve added the code you have suggested. However, where I would prefer to have the captions appear is in the full-size lightbox image.
When I inspect the element, I can see a reference to
<figcaption>
but I don’t actually see any text for the caption (meaning, I’m guessing this isn’t fixed with a modification to CSS code), so what do I need to do?Please advise.
Thank you,
Tim
Hi Ismael,
Thanks for the reply. Will that also make the captions visible once each thumbnail is clicked, i.e., when it appears in the lightbox? If not, ideas on how I can do that?
Thank you,
Tim
September 30, 2014 at 1:55 pm in reply to: Youtube Video Not Playing in Fullwidth Easy Slider #327204Hi Devin and all,
I found the fix. The trick is to switch the Safari browser’s default YouTube player to HTML5.
You can use this URL to check what player you are presently using and make the switch if needed:

September 30, 2014 at 10:58 am in reply to: Youtube Video Not Playing in Fullwidth Easy Slider #327101Hi Devin,
Wow, you’re right. I just checked on an old version of Safari, 5.0.6 (running OS X Leopard!), and I see it.
But on my new Macbook Air running OS 10.9.5 (Mavericks) on Safari 7.1, I’ve just got the black screen with an unresponsive play button.
Are you able to verify the same thing at your end?
Cheers,
Tim
Dear All,
I solved the problem in case anyone else out there is using the Polylang plugin.
Under Settings > Languages there are three tabs: Languages | String Translations | Settings.
Click on Settings, then check the box ” Hide URL language information for default language”

Tim

Okay, got it! Many thanks.

Thanks, Devin. I’ll create a test site where I’ll only import the dummy data.
