2. Hope this clarifies. Basically I was able to get all but two of the images in the grid positions that I want. I named the posts starting with a number, but for some reason the two bottom row middle images (the rollovers says “14 Maggie & Chris” on one and “13 Portraits” on the other won’t swap positions even when I swap the numbers. Ideally, also I could hide the numbers or have another way of positioning the tiles how they are in the layout screengrab.
3. cool. i’ll try this out.
4. great. thanks!September 28, 2015 at 4:05 pm in reply to: creating a home page grid with multiple sized images #510206Hi, thanks for the quick response.
1. Great. Thanks!
2. The masonry looks good, just the design that I want I’d like the two bottom middle images to switch positions. Basically I have a specific order for the masonry tiles and I can’t quite get it to work.
3. I don’t want the tiles to go the full width of the page. I want them contained within the 1/1 column element. and I already have it set to Perfect Manual Masonry. What I’m wanting to do is to be able to make the aspect ratio of the tiles different. for example let’s say the “landscape” tiles are 161px X 126px, I’d like to be able to change that to 161 x 100.
4. http://peacheyphotography.co.uk/ something like this. How does codeable work? I give them what I want and they do it for a price?September 24, 2015 at 2:39 am in reply to: creating a home page grid with multiple sized images #508130ah, yes, that would be helpful. here’s the URL. also good to know about the queue.
here’s where I stand with my questions since I’ve been able to get the Masonry grid to at least show the featured images from my test posts, which was my first issue.
1. I can’t preview my posts. They say “Nothing found”
2. I’ve been able to get all of the images positioned in the Masonry grid how I want, except for the two in the middle of the bottom row. I’ve tried switching the names around, but that hasn’t worked.
3. Is there a way to change the aspect ratio of the Masonry tiles? I’d like them to be wider than they are currently.
4. How can I change the overlay to a simple color overlay with text centered in the middle? Thanks so much
September 21, 2015 at 6:06 pm in reply to: creating a home page grid with multiple sized images #506579i’ve made some progress. i’m able to get images in the masonry grid as long as the posts are public. still can’t get posts to preview though.
September 21, 2015 at 5:03 pm in reply to: creating a home page grid with multiple sized images #506529the page i’m trying to work off is called “SM test” if that helps. thanks for jumping in!
September 21, 2015 at 4:59 pm in reply to: creating a home page grid with multiple sized images #506526I think the issue is two part. But maybe it’s all the same issue. None of my posts will preview at all. Including the ones that are there as sample posts from the Enfold theme. I just get a page that says “Nothing found”. I’ve attached my login info in the private content window. I’m basically trying to determine if I can create what my wife wants for her site, so I’m testing it out on my site first.
ok, i think I figured it out. thanks for your help!
So I’m pretty sure I didn’t do the Quick CSS option correctly because nothing changed. I copied the code into my Quick css, but i still don’t know how to assign the H1 tag to the Western Digital copy block. Any chance you can explain that? also the font the I’m hoping to use for header is Droid Serif. I assume I just type in “Droid Serif” where you had “Georgia”?
The plugin seems to work, but knowing how to work with the H1 tag would be great, so I’d like to figure that out if possible. Thanks for sticking with me on this!
no, it’s my personal portfolio site. i just need to have it password protected so that certain proprietary work doesn’t get searched by google.
so the code above, I go Enfold > Theme Options and then where, I don’t see any where to add/edit code
Hi,
Yeah, I know that “protected” isn’t there if the page is public, but I will need to keep my site password protected even when I’m done building it. In terms of the css solution, how do assign an h1 tag to a specific bit of copy. I’m super new to this, so I apologize if this is a dumb question. I’ve seen the different h1-h6 things in my overall site settings, but haven’t seen the option to assign them to specific bits of text. That would be great to know how to do! Probably ultimately better than just removing the title bar. Also is this code something that would go in my Quick CSS? or is custom css in a different spot? thanks!
HoseaI was able to figure it out with a friend of mine. Thanks for your help.
ok, thanks. i think it’s most important to me that things be evenly spaced, so I’m wondering if there’s a way to have 1px in between each tile and then 15px on the outside (top, bottom, right, left).
Here’s my user and password. Not sure why it’s not showing up I’ve hit the publish button. I’m definitely new to this whole thing though.
Sorry, I forgot I’d password protected the site. I’ve turned that off. Hopefully that was it.
