Thanks for taking a look Andy. I’m not concerned with the social icons (they seem to work differently and you can see them). It is the menu text colour. I am using my primary colour (blue) for the home page but you will see that on other pages where transparent or glossy header is used, the same primary colour is used. I want to be able to set this to another colour (i.e. White as per the settings, but this is ignored).
Thanks,
HNovember 27, 2015 at 2:36 pm in reply to: Theme Options – Define the Font for your body text #543638Of course, thanks for taking the time to have a look.
*The problem arises because I want to use a different font for the main menu. That is only available in the Advanced Style Options. But in selecting this and choosing the main menu colour (blue) I lose the transparent colour setting (white).
Details below.
November 25, 2015 at 6:13 pm in reply to: 'Scroll down arrow' lands too low on page with 'Header is invisible and appears' #542618I’m a little confused here. So I do not have a Child theme yet. I know how to create one and install one and will do that.
Do I edit the main shortcodes.js file and then change the Child Functions file or do I copy the shortcodes.js file into the child theme folder ?
Do I need to create a child theme sub folder first called js and then copy the shortcodes.js file into that and then edit that and the child theme functions.php file? Thanks,
H(on another note, I have changed the Theme Name: in my child settings on another site but when I right click the site page and view source, it says Theme Enfold. Should it not say the Child Name ?)
November 25, 2015 at 5:08 pm in reply to: Theme Options – Define the Font for your body text #542548Thanks @Dake but this did not work. Is this recognised as a bug?
November 25, 2015 at 1:37 am in reply to: Theme Options – Define the Font for your body text #542079Hi @Andy,
Thanks for the reply. The site is under dev so I will post a link in the private box below.
Many thanks,
HNovember 20, 2015 at 6:59 pm in reply to: Theme Options – Define the Font for your body text #539875Thanks @Rikard, I will look into the font list. However, my solution to use the Advanced Styling option would work if it were not for the bug on Transparent Headings (I’m actually using the glossy). Can you look into this issue? Strangely the social icons do change to the transparent colour setting.
Many thanks,
HNovember 19, 2015 at 2:38 am in reply to: Post Slider Meta Data showing after latest Update to 3.4.2 #538667That’s brilliant! thanks Elliott. I will have a go at those suggestions and see which one works best.
If I may ask another question relating to Quick CSS. I have a number of website all with different bits of code in the quick CSS (some of it will be old now and fixed in new releases). Is there a way to add a comment above each piece of code so I know exactly what they do? I know in some case you can put ### to add comments but not sure about the quick css.
Thanks for this CSS, I have just been searching the forum for exactly this. I would have thought though that this would be standard in the latest releases. :) Why would want white space on a coloured background when using a PNG ?
November 18, 2015 at 9:18 pm in reply to: Theme Options – Define the Font for your body text #538553* on the same subject. I used the Advanced Styling option for my Menu Font, but now the colour remains for Transparent Headings.
e.g. My Home page is white background with Black font. I have a transparent full screen image page with black background. My Transparent menu colour is set to white but it is still black. I can’t see my menu. The Advanced Styling is overriding this setting.
Hey guys, this issue is now fixed with the latest release (and border styling too) – awesome job !
Many thanks !
November 17, 2015 at 1:01 am in reply to: Post Slider Meta Data showing after latest Update to 3.4.2 #537002Links to screenshots are below.
It doesn’t happen every time, only when post titles are long.
Many thanks @Elliott
November 14, 2015 at 4:09 pm in reply to: Post Slider Meta Data showing after latest Update to 3.4.2 #535883Hi @Elliott,
That worked! Thank you. However, there is another slight problem with the Post Slider.
The titles for each one overlap with the next when the title is quite long.
I have a post slider in a One Half section.
When this is viewed on smaller devices, particularly an iPad (these seem to be somewhere between a ‘normal’ display and automatically changing to a mobile display) the post title descriptions overlap. I will put the link below in private box. Thanks for your quick reply.

November 13, 2015 at 6:39 pm in reply to: Post Slider Meta Data showing after latest Update to 3.4.2 #535657* Please also note that if you change the Blog Styling to the new Elegant option it REALLY messes up the Post Slider. It changes the Font Sizes and colour – completely messed up my home page.
November 5, 2015 at 10:12 pm in reply to: 'Scroll down arrow' lands too low on page with 'Header is invisible and appears' #531209When you have to point your users to numerous topics with various suggestions on a fix / explanation and even you guys post the wrong link, it would suggest this is indeed a problem. If you’re driving a car and turn the steering wheel left and the car goes right you might think there was a problem – but if the manufacturer told you this was by design, you may still argue that the design is wrong.
I accept that you have 60,000 users – that’s because Enfold is an amazing theme and you guys rock. I know you listen to your user base and that’s why I contribute to various posts and submit tickets occasionally. However, sometimes, I don’t have time to do this, other times I give up because it’s perhaps too technical or time consuming to make the changes vs the improvements that would result.
The fact is, as @The_Rhyme_Animal says, not everybody uses ALL features. Not ONE of the Enfold demo themes uses this feature.I have 12 licences for Enfold so please accept 12 suggestions for a fix :)
(I have just had a look at 3.4.1 – fantastic work guys) !
All the best,
HNovember 3, 2015 at 3:57 pm in reply to: 'Scroll down arrow' lands too low on page with 'Header is invisible and appears' #529360@Ismael, thanks for the reply. I can accept it is not a bug because @Kriesi wrote the code like that. But I think if you looked at every other theme that offers a down arrow at the bottom of a section, people would not have to be altering code because the code author decided not to make the following sections 100%. I really don’t understand the argument. When is a bug not a bug? Surely it is a design defect then?
I’m disappointed to see quite a few people bring this up and for you not to treat it as a bug. Can this be “fixed” in the next release?
Many thanks for your continued, quick replies.

November 2, 2015 at 4:50 pm in reply to: The Events Calendar TOC – Recommended Plugin Warning #528610Hi Rikard,
Sorry it has been some time in my reply. I basically gave up with the site in question: http://recoveryplaces.org/
I purchased the “community” plugin from TOC and had to get a lot of help from them on the formatting of the end user form (the one users submit their own events with). All fields were full width of the screen. (removed from the site)
I also purchased the Eventbrite plugin from them which inserts the Eventbrite details in the box under the map and it is squashed and not usable. (since removed from the site)
Other issues were around using your custom widget which does not work when you have repeat events. I have logged this under a separate topic. https://kriesi.at/support/topic/events-countdown-widget-bug/
There were many smaller issues such as looking at a repeat event under a Venue. The (see all) link is hidden when you try click on it, because the repeat information appears in a hover right above the hyperlink.
adding a feature image or any image to the Venue causes a display issue. It’s clickable and causes a refresh issue.
I can’t remember them all, but some UI testing would really be helpful.
November 2, 2015 at 2:49 pm in reply to: How to change the color of the – Display a scroll down arrow? #528510Hi @Rikard,
Sorry, yes I will create a new topic from now on.
I have posted site details in reply to topic: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/scroll-down-arrow-lands-too-low-on-page-with-header-is-invisible-and-appears/#post-528508I hope that is OK.
Thanks,
HNovember 2, 2015 at 2:48 pm in reply to: 'Scroll down arrow' lands too low on page with 'Header is invisible and appears' #528508Hi @Rikard,
Thanks for the quick response. I shall include the details below in the private section as the site is not live yet. Please can you use these also for looking at issue https://kriesi.at/support/topic/how-to-change-the-color-of-the-display-a-scroll-down-arrow/#post-528234 ?Many thanks,
HOctober 30, 2015 at 3:58 pm in reply to: How to change the color of the – Display a scroll down arrow? #527502Hi @Yigit,
I hope you don’t mind me using your Quick CSS above – it works thanks. BUT …
For some reason it changes the width of a text box above.
I have a layout of 1/5 | 3/5 | 1/5 at the bottom of the colour section. I only have the text box in the 3/5 layout section.
When I implement your code the 3/5 seems to narrow to about 1/5
If I remove the code it goes back to 3/5 (so I know it’s not a cache issue or anything).Regards,
HOctober 30, 2015 at 3:29 pm in reply to: 'Scroll down arrow' lands too low on page with 'Header is invisible and appears' #527473Hi All,
I seem to be having this problem also. I have a few color sections with 100% browser height setting. The first Scroll arrow is on screen but the rest are not – you have to scroll down to see the arrow, which defeats the object of this feature.
What is the fix? Was another topic started about this?
I tried the CSS suggested by Rikard but it doesn’t work.
Thanks,
HYIKES! I am receiving reports that the site is not looking good!
I am not sure you are looking at this right now or not, but the home page looks awful and the “outside” script seems to be causing the problem.
I will have to get the hosting company to remove this and just forget trying to fix it on a live site. Now that you saw the problem, maybe you can do more testing or confirm the correct code?
Thanks,
HHey @Ismael,
My hosting company have been very helpful (they do not usually support WordPress technical issues). They have offered to contact you by email too to help resolve the issue.
The reply from them after testing on the new temp page is this:
The 18 line of the events_countdown.php is checking if the class with name avia_sc_events_countdown does NOT exist, where it DOES exist, so the code below is being ignored. For some reason the class with name avia_sc_events_countdown is being defined somewhere else. If you remove the IF statement, the site throws a “Cannot redeclare class avia_sc_events_countdown” error. As an example, i have added a “inside” text inside the IF statement, and an “outside” outside of it, so if you check the top left of the temp page, the outside shows up and not the inside.
Does this help? Can you confirm you are able still to FTP into the site?
Please remember this is now a LIVE site. Many many thanks.
Hi @Ismael,
I have moved the event countdown from the home page to a test page. See below for the details.
Hi Yigit,
Thank you, that is much better. The widget is still not the same as in the Church demo. The spacing between each event is much larger.
(I had to change the first part of the code you originally sent to top: -65px; instead of -85 as it hit the header)Ismael has replied to the other topic and is trying to help with the theme event countdown which does not seem to work in my live site (or a test site too). The topic is: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/events-countdown-widget-bug/#post-475727
I am also encountering lots more issues since buying TEC and it’s associated products such as the Eventbrite import. It would seem Enfold has only been tested with the free version :( But your continued support is greatly appreciated.
Thank you to all.
Hi @Ismael,
The hosting company tech support says this:
Sorry for the late reply. I did some testing to your file. The reason you are not seeing any results from the var_dump or print is that the class avia_sc_events_countdown does exist and on the line 18 you are checking whether it does not exist so the whole code from line 18 to the end is ignored. If i do a var_dump outside this if statement it is shown just fine.
I hope this helps.
Hi @Ismael,
My hosting company reply is … it is working. See PM below.
Hi @Ismael,
No the countdown stays at 0 until the event has finished, then it shows the next event.
My hosting company do not understand what you are requesting?@Ismael,
You misunderstand the problem.
If you look at your screenshot … in 44 minutes and 39 seconds the countdown will go to 0 days 0 hours 0 minutes and 0 seconds.
The countdown will stay at 0 for the next hour and a half – that is the problem (that’s how long that event lasts)I would expect when the event starts, the countdown would be showing the NEXT event !
Thanks for taking a look Ismael. There are no cache plugins installed. I am not sure why are unable to edit the file.
Can you actually login via FTP? (I can contact my Hosting company and have them look into it), though I have no problems uploading and you have the same access, just a different user name). I just connected with the details I gave you and can upload ok.The revised code has made no difference. Not with my test site or the live site.
The countdown reaches 0 and that’s it. If you refresh the page the countdown is 0.
See the screenshot I took taken 16 July @ 5:06 pm after loading the page.
I would expect to see the widget counting down to the next event July 17 @ 5:05pmAlso: is anyone looking at the spacing on the Upcoming Events widget above the Countdown widget? (I posted separate topic for that)
I may have to copy this home page onto a new page as the client wishes to announce the new website soon :/
