  • SG Optimizer isn’t the problem, I’m not on SiteGround. I’m self-hosted on cPanel with the same problem, and it just started recently. I also think it’s the 5.6.1 update.

Sliders show a blank space on subpages, but homepage slider works OK. I even tried a code block and text block and copied in the layerslider shortcode, but it still doesn’t work. There is a div for the layerslider, but it just doesn’t appear. No load failures in Chrome network panel. I tried disabling lazy loading, disabled css/js merging/compression, enabled jQuery Migrate, nothing seems to help.

Private link shows page example where it won’t load. Page uses ALB with the Advanced Layerslider widget as the only thing on the page. No sidebar. Using the layerslider shortcode in a code/text block doesn’t help. The height of the blank zone matches the selected slider, but it seems the javascript stuff is what’s ultimately breaking down.

Something is seriously broken with the theme. Everything is updated and I have zero plugins activated. PHP 7.4 with PHP-FPM. Tried without FPM enabled, tried 7.3 with and without FPM, no help.

It seems the layerslider JS files are not loading on these subpages, no matter what changes I make to to the theme performance configuration.

Installing and activating the “Enable jQuery Migrate Helper” plugin also does not help.

Update: Ok, I got the slider to load. After adjusting those performance options, I edited the page, removed the slider and re-added it, and then it showed up ok. But when I tried this on another page (a page created before the update) I can’t get it to load no matter what. Very strange things happening here.
I can see that layerslider.utils.js?ver=6.11.2 is not referenced in the source code on the broken page, but it’s present on the pages where the slider works OK. Why isn’t it loading?

On the working page, in code view, I see this at the top:

    <!– wp:shortcode –>
    [av_layerslider id=’3′ av_uid=’av-9q3ms’]

But on the broken page, the av_layerslider shortcode is not there, despite having the exact same ALB widget/element dropped onto the page with a slider selected.
