    Using Enfold version 4.7.6.1

    in reply to: Floating navigation for sections #674129

    Hi Rikard,

    thanks for your response. Will keep my eyes open!

    Keep up the good work, Enfold team!

    Best,
    Daniel

    Hi there,

    we had the same problem with settings that could not be saved in an earlier version just a couple of weeks ago to exisiting LayerSliders and we tried (together with your support guys) everything to sort it out, but no luck.

    Now we updated the test system to WP 4.5.2 and Enfold 3.5.4 and also deactivated all plugins. We could save only some settings in new LayerSliders, but for example the URLs with [post-url] are not saved. I also tried to change the jquery file in functions.php that is currently recommended.

    Very interested, if you find a fix. Let me know, if I can support this thread.

    Alright.

    Thanks again for staying with me during this really long thread! I really appreciate it! If we should find a solution, I would open a new thread.

    Thanks again!
    Daniel

    Oh man … But thanks for your help, Andy & Ismael.

    Is it possible to download older releases of the theme, so that we can continue to find a solution around the manual re-adding?

    Hi Ismael,

    yes, we tried that. When we import the sliders from the working live version, we also do not see the settings.

    You are using local installations, right? What happens, if you import our sliders into your local installations (see private link)?

    Best regards,
    Daniel

    Hi Andy,

    Thank you very much for your patience with this issue. I thought it was easier to send you a short screencast (see private content) to show you the problem on our live system. We are using Enfold 3.3.2, not 3.4.7 – my bad in the previous post. Last time we tried to update to Enfold (I think it was the 3.4.7 version), we had the same issue with the LayerSlider and had to roll back a backup.

    Please have a look and let me know what you think.

    Thanks & best regards,
    Daniel

    We are talking about 3-5 sliders with each around 5-8 slides and various layers: more than 100 layer settings!

    Even importing the slider from our working live system (with 3.4.7) did not work and the issue with the missing settings still exists.

    It cannot be in your interest that after a theme update the existing settings of plugins that are distributed with it are not working correctly anymore. And we excluded the usual error sources together step by step (caching, no domain change etc.)

    You guys are the developers and there must be a way that you can figure out, why the settings are gone. Did really none of your debug tools or maybe logfiles give you any other hint? Checking your support forum regularly, this would be the first time that you could not find a solution or the error source or even narrow it down after getting system access and a detailed issue description.

    And it all worked before with 3.4.7 …. same server, same plugins …

    So please consider having a look again.

    Thanks!
    Daniel

    Hi Andy,

    did you import/export your page to a different domain or did you move any WordPress files?
    –> no, we just updated the theme and the LayerSlider plugin on this installation, no change in the domains

    Are you using any kind of caching? Please ask your host if they are using caching on your server. Make sure to purge and deactivate it.
    –> You are repeating yourself. NO, we do not use caching.

    We can’t see that you have lost any styles and we can’t reproduce the issue on our installation. Try to install a backed up version, to see if things get better for you again.
    –> already rolled back updates and uses backups, because of this issue

    I deactivated all your plugins and now I can’t activate them again anymore. Seems that something is wrong with either your WP installation or with any theme files.
    –> I was able to activate them again with the login I provided – there was no problem to do so.

    I am usually really happy about the way you guys solve he problems, but you ask the same questions again that I have already answered before. I know that it is difficult to find the problem, but that is why I ask for your help.

    For already existing sliders the settings are not shown in the backend after the update. The issue happened also to others before and was not resolved. Kriesi said, that it should be fixed, but it is NOT : https://kriesi.at/support/topic/advanced-layerslider-5-6-2-lost-styles-in-enfold-3-4-7-and-cannot-save-styles/page/2/#post-598903

    I appreciate your help, Andy, but could you please also tag Kriesi or Dude?

    This is exactly the problem!!! The settings in the fields are gone from our existing sliders, this is why they are empty. They shouldn’t be empty. There should be plenty of settings, but we cannot see them anymore, they seem to be gone.

    Before the upgrade, we had all the settings there and now they are gone.

    And the interesting thing is: that the sliders are shown correctly in the pages, where we use the slider. But all settings seem to be lost and we cannot work with it anymore, because we change it content various times per week.

    To summarize it:
    – existing settings are not shown in the backend
    – preview does not work for existing sliders
    – but: the sliders are rendered correctly on the pages, where we use them
    – it wasn’t like this before the upgrade to the latest Enfold and LayerSlider version

    Do you understand the issue we have?

    Hi Andy,

    the issue is not the additional CSS field. This seems to work – agree.

    The preview is still wrong, as there should be for the title, description and category layers a different font size, font-family and background colors etc. So the preview (“Enter preview” button) is not rendered correctly.
    This is how it should look like when you are working with the layers and also when you click the “enter preview button”. This is how it always was when we worked with the LayerSlider.

    This is how editing the slider and the preview should look like, the settings from the styles are adapted.

    Best,
    Daniel

    Yes, it seems that just the top and left values are shown, the rest is empty.

    And the preview does not show the actual style changes, like font size and background color etc. :
    Rendered styles in the preview should look like this (older, working theme version)

    This error was there also with the update to 3.4.7 of the theme (see link to the forum post on the very top). It seems that we are not the only ones that have this kind of error.

    Please check the slider in the backend and in the frontend (see private information)

    The following fields of the settings should not be empty:
    – Layout & Positions Width 600
    – all the padding settings
    – font: family: “Montserrat”,sans-serif – size 34px – line height 38px, color: #EB262B
    – Misc: background: #ffffff, word-wrap: on

    We should see these settings, but they are not shown in the backend!

    Again: The problem is that the old/existing settings are still not shown in the backend (see screenshots from earlier post) and the preview of the slider also does not work.

    So it is not working as expected, as you should be able to see the “old” settings!

    Emptied browser cache – no change. We also were able to replicate the issue on several computers and different browsers.

    Just replaced the imgur links. SHoudl work now.

    Hi Andy,
    ok.

    How it should be:
    In the backend of the LayerSlider we can see the settings for styles of the sliders and can also use the preview (see image)
    The frontend is rendered accordingly.
    How it is without the update - we can see the settings we applied in the backend

    The problem:
    After the update (we updated the theme and the LayerSlider plugin) the settings for the styles of the sliders in the LayerSlider backend are empty. The frontend is still rendered correctly, but we cannot see the settings anymore and the preview of the slider (see image). Even duplicating does not resolve the issue. Also not changing any seetings and saving them. So the information about the settings are obviously there, which is why the frontend is rendered correctly, but it does not show the existing settings in the backend. The CSS field seems to work without a problem.

    The problem is: we cannot see the applied settings in the backend, nor the preview.

    I hope it is understandable :) Please let me know, if you need more information.

    Daniel

    Ok, thanks, Andy. Will wait for the next steps. Please keep me/us in the loop.

    Hi Vinay,

    yes, I can see the version 5.6.3 installed message. We have updated both, the theme and the layerslider plugin.Let’s see, if you can find more.

    Thanks, Andy.

    As you can’t say: Could you please tag Kriesi here, so that we get an answer regarding a time frame from him directly? Would be much appreciated again.

    Hi support team,

    What is the status with this issue? When do you expect this issue to be fixed and rolled-out? It’s open for more than a months now. and a fix would be highly appreciated.

    Thanks!
    Daniel

    That is awesome, Yigit!

    I can remember that you had to tweak the functions.php for that. Happy to hear that!

    Great theme and support!

    Hi Elliott,

    thanks for getting back.

    And it also works when you choose to use the advanced layout builder in the dropdown here Dashboard > Enfold > Blog Layout so that the categories also take the same layout?

    in reply to: Full width area in Chrome and Firefox #452736

    No, unfortunately this is not possible. I will think about a solution, to get a copy on the live server to play around with.

    Thanks for your help, though!

    in reply to: Full width area in Chrome and Firefox #441950

    That is a problem. I wonder why it is not working, even though it was working before. I really have just exchanged images, no further updates or plugin updates etc.

    in reply to: Full width area in Chrome and Firefox #439220

    Hi Rikard,

    I updated just the theme to 3.1.5 and it did not change the behaviour. Have restored the old version again.

    Any other idea?

    Glad to hear that you did not face any trouble. Just wanted to rule out that option as well. Probably brute force. Changed the htaccess and blocked the xmlrpc, too.

    Can be closed.

    Thanks for your support!

    Thanks Ismael! I will setup a staging server and see, if I need further help with my questions from above.

    Ok, I need some time to do that and come back with my question. Not sure, if we should close it or not.

    in reply to: CSS for tabs on mobile device/smartphone #281030

    Worked perfectly – thank you for your support, Yigit!

    2) Entypo icons in navigation instead of bullets

    Go to Design > Menu and open your menu item. Add the class .mapicon into the field CSS-Class (optional) (if this is not shown, look at the top of the Menu page with options and check “CSS Class”

    Then use this CSS:

    /* MAP ICONS instead of bullets in main navigation */
    .mapicon .avia-bullet:before {
    display: none;
    }

    .header_color .mapicon .avia-bullet {
    display: none;
    }

    .mapicon {
    content: "\E842";
    font-family: 'entypo-fontello';
    font-size:16px;
    line-height: 30px;
    padding-right: 10px;
    float: left;
    clear: both;
    }

    Thanks for your help, support team – can be closed now :)
